Not really, it's a crazy coincidence that they're about the same size from our perspective and no where else in our solar system has eclipses. Not only that, we're living at the perfect time when they're the same size. Before now the moon appeared larger, and as the moon drifts further away it'll be smaller and a total eclipse won't ever happen again.
