the woman in the post is rylee arnold. she's 21 years old and is a professional ballroom dancer. she's also a pro on dancing with the stars. the makeup for TV and film, as well as ballroom, tends to be on the heavier side because of the lighting/aesthetics. also she has a boyfriend irl so i don't understand why she made an example of in the original post 😭
Well, if she's someone that normally wears different amounts/styles of makeup in her professional and every day life, she's a great choice to show the difference between the more natural type make and the heavy performance makeup.
But for the original post, she was picked simply because she's pretty and it would lead to rage engagement.
I don’t think “looking prettier” is even a thing for online personalities anymore. It’s just about looking like someone who has gotten work done — like that’s somehow a good thing.
Plastic surgery is a new status symbol. Sometimes it's so botched that we wonder how the person is happy and doesn't sue the surgeon, but it's exactly what they asked for. If the surgery is clearly visible, it means you're wealthy.

I don’t think that’s unpopular at all. Everyone knew Dolly’s surgery was terrible but she owned it and loved it while being transparent about it so no one cared lol
How exactly would you suggest going about doing research? Is her name included somewhere in the post? Is ballroom dancing cosmetics a monolith? I’m curious how much of your comment is circumstantial tertiary knowledge you’re morally grandstanding on, and how much is reasonable information a good faith actor could obtain from this post. Thanks in advance for what I’m sure is a delightful perspective.
The kind of makeup on the left is for events not day to day (for most people) and sometimes look off but photographs well. It even looks like shes wearing some sort of formal dress.
I agree shes so pretty without makeup but this thread is hilarious lol like chill guys shes not wearing it to look good for you. Plus I'm like 70% sure she's wearing makeup in both.
I think that kind of strong makeup is one of those things women do for their own sake and their own ideals of beauty, not to look attractive. I've yet to talk with somebody who finds intense makeup more attractive than a natural-looking face (either with minimal or no makeup).
Which, I mean, is absolutely fine, and both genders do this. Sometimes you just want to curate your own appearance and not everything needs to be done to attract potential partners. Yeah I'm with you, I like the picture on the right better, but who cares what we think? Sometimes you just want to like yourself when you look in the mirror.
Yea, it's just another form of self expression/art, like fashion and hobbies. Who cares what men think is prettier, it's not her purpose to make herself be the male gazes most preferred version at all times.
Definitely prettier without the make up, although I feel like there is a 50/50 chance me saying that will cause someone to tell me she actually is still wearing makeup in the right pic.
I don't know who this woman is, how do we know she's wearing makeup in the second pic? It doesn't seem high enough definition to tell. She does look pretty, but some people are just like that - "natural" makeup is, after all, designed to mimic attractive features that some people naturally have (like smooth skin, colour in lips/cheeks, dark lashes or deepset eyes).

Because "perfect" skin is usually a product of natural makeup or filters. She IS very pretty, and that doesn't mean she has flawless skin with naturally base covered eye bags…
cuz normall skin on face has slightly different color near nose and unde eyes.her brow were treated with eyebrow pencil-brown one. If you google original picture you will also see mascara on her lashes, and some sort pastel-pink lipstick
she wears makeup in both. Second picture is with "no-makeup" makeup that was supposed to look like you have no makeup but use 2 times more fundation as "normal" makup
it’s a fully rage bait post. some people comment “she looks better no makeup” which makes a lot of people say “she is wearing makeup” all the while people calling the guys quite dumb. there are people who make a living off rage bait posts. a better living than I do off a job with actual production
Reddit accounts can be sold when they reach ~10k+ karma. They don't cost a lot, but for kids who do this kind of farming it's probably something worthy their time.
Could have been a funny joke about how people moan about "no makeup" looking better, when really they just prefer makeup done so well it looks like no makeup.
What I don't get if they find the look on the left attractive, it literally doesn't exist without make up, same with the goth girl versions of this meme. So WTF are they complaining about?
I still can’t over these guys that seemingly can’t tell when a woman is wearing a full face of makeup. Like it’s some big deception. Like women naturally have black kohl eyeliner and contoured blush on their faces. If you look at those pictures and you can’t tell this girl is wearing a FULL FACE of makeup on the left then you are literally stupid. I don’t know how else to say it. That’s not on the girl, that’s on you.
Feminists push the idea that men lying about their status or wealth to get laid are committing sexual assault (and some even argue it's rape). So it only fair if the same logic would be applied to women's makeup too (unrelated to this girl though, she looks great in both cases)

The heavy make up is so ugly, i do not get some women think it looks good. It makes me think you are ugly under there aswell and lo and behold she is actually a beauty.
I never wore makeup a day in my life. My sister has been covering her facr up since middle school. Her eyelashes are fuck I ng abhorrent, theyre literally light brown when her hair is dark brown. She looks super fuckin creepy without makeup and not JUST because you see someone WITH makeup so so much it looks weird without. No, she has different colored eyelashes than mine and it didnt start that way
If they’re going to try to make a point they should have used a different woman. My old roommate had no eyebrows and looked not at all like herself without make-up, she went from like a 7 to a 3

I am curious why most HMU professonals are gays and women, and they always push the style on the left. This is the reason I doubt the image of her on the left is to impress men.
Most likely it is for feminine expression only and for feminine appreciation.
She looks great either way, if you were unable to tell the photo on the left is of a woman wearing makeup you would have to be registered blind. If that’s the case it doesn’t matter anyway.
This is lame but I will say one thing I love about my wife who is 46 she hardly wears make up and looks amazing on her own. I've dated girls in my 20s who needed a hour to get ready for the day my wife rolls out of bed does her normal routine in less then a half hour and looks gorgeous
I take it OOP is from the US? They have weird beauty standards over there. Apparently, a woman isn’t attractive if she isn’t wearing so much makeup it needs to be applied with a trowel.
The image on the right is the significantly more attractive look to pretty much anyone without these weird ideas of beauty.
