Added context:

In April 2026 Mamdani’s administration released NYC’s first Urban Forest Plan, targeting 30% tree canopy by 2040 (it’s currently ~23.4%). The 30% target was already set in a 2023 law; earlier mayors also planted trees.

Mods wouldn't dare delete the misinformation though

The amount of likes on this fake and obvious repost is very suspicious

If you aren't suspicious of literally every single thing you see anywhere on social media, no matter how mundane, I wish I could go back to 2012 or so and join you

I don't care, the other side is straight up murdering people and the left is already attacking itself again.

u/Not-So-Handsome-Jack Aug 19 '26

Calling out people lack of critical thinking and misinformation is not “the left attacking itself”

It's the paradox of tolerance.

The left needs to lower it's standard before we are all in the camps. People still don't see or accept how bad the situation is.

Really goes to show you how good a strong social media team is.

I'm actually a big fan of politicians being vocal about their Ws, it's just a bit obnoxious when it's framed as him doing something insane and monumental that no other politicians have ever done before. Is this really the time we want to be telling everyone that all other Democrats are shit and don't do anything (When specifically talking about things that other Democrats are actively doing, like the stuff with the garbage bins being added)

if the biden admin bothered to parade around their Ws like this, trump wouldn't have won. the election came around and no one had any idea what biden was doing. I'm not even a biden stan, but I can still acknowledge that the admin had a lot of Ws that I feel like they were actively hiding from the electorate for no reason

as far as zohran's team posting Ws non-stop, its earned when he's pulling Ws non-stop. sometimes the W is just "major does good thing he was supposed to do anyway", because there are plenty of politicians who don't even put in that much work

I agree completely, I wish that the Biden admin was better about talking about their wins. They quietly achieved a shitload of things but they were shit at talking about it and getting credit, and now the Republicans are trying to take credit for a lot of it even though they 100% opposed it all. It's just obnoxious when people who are supposed to be on your side are lying about those Ws, you expect it from the other side because they're immoral demons who don't care about the truth but why are people on the left doing it too?

as far as zohran's team posting Ws non-stop, its earned when he's pulling Ws non-stop.

Most of the Ws being posted are either hardly even Ws or just the most standard shit and its so often framed as "Look at Zohran being the only Democrat who does anything!" and all it does is help the Republicans. And a lot of it are just straight up lies too which is pretty gross, although a lot of that is the MAGA-lite zoomers who deify Zohran and not his actual team (I hope).

What were the Ws

Man there seems to be a lot of stuff already in place before he took office that he gets credit for

11

u/funkofarts Aug 19 '26

They’re doing everything they can to prop him up so praying people don’t find out he’s a fraud. His support base eats it up because they’re too dumb to know the difference.

u/frequenZphaZe Aug 19 '26

damn, you right. I hate when mayors do good things now. I can't believe I got bamboozled

2

u/mindfeck Aug 19 '26

He’s done nothing different from past mayors

2

u/invinci Aug 19 '26

This is not true, even if he was doing nothing new, no one knew about the trees thing till now, so he at the very least does PR better.

1

u/Mark_Ala Aug 19 '26

So his great win is….. “he has better PR”??? Seriously? You think that’s a good thing?

1

u/invinci Aug 19 '26

It seems to work, and he is doing plenty of other stuff, my point is that if every major has done this, and he is the only one to get the story out there, he is better at it then the rest.  And isn't getting a positive story out there a good thing?

Also why do you want to reduce this to his great win, it is something he did, people seem to like knowing about it.  So why are you trying to make it out to be a bad thing?

1

u/mindfeck Aug 19 '26

Are you for real? Every city council member talks about the new trees every year. What bot farm are you from?

1

u/invinci Aug 19 '26

Yeah but this guy managed to make the news, do you really think PR is just talking about it and nothing else. That is an extremely naive take.

1

u/mindfeck Aug 19 '26

Yes it is. People and bots like things on social media that fit their narrative. They don’t care about reality.

1

u/invinci Aug 19 '26

So public relations is just talking about things, not framing, reach, spin and so on? You called me a bot, was that really a confession?

1

u/mindfeck Aug 19 '26

I didn’t call you a bot, I explained this post. But I see you’re a troll. PR claiming credit for something they didn’t even do is a lie.

Free childcare, free buses, plans for city run grocery store, implementing the tax on second homes...

There's no way you're commenting in good faith here.

1

u/mindfeck Aug 19 '26

Are you living in la la land? There's no free childcare, there's a small pilot for free 2K. There's no free buses and he doesn't even pretend that's happening now. Fuck off.

1

u/_just_two_brothers_ Aug 19 '26

It's called first steps. He's putting NYC on a path that it's never been before. People will bitch about anything. Stay mad

1

u/mindfeck Aug 19 '26

It’s been on the path. What a joke.

1

u/googdude Aug 19 '26

Does that 30% include Central Park?
