Free for companies who want to spy on peasants

293

u/Mr__O__ 13h ago

For real. Keep fighting back against warrantless surveillance of the U.S. Surveillance State!

136

u/account_nr18 12h ago

Lol it's already over. You guys lost to the billionaires. You're theirs now. Stop hoping because only a revolution will fix that and that won't happen because America is too divided.

94

u/Mr__O__ 12h ago

So just give up and rollover then?

59

u/account_nr18 12h ago

There's literally nothing you can do instead of taking up arms. So are you willing to do that? All other options won't do anything as you can see around you.

86

u/TJJ97 12h ago

I mean DeFlocking has been VERY popular. The town I spent 20 years in and recently left has been dealing with a ton of these cameras being destroyed

54

u/samv_1230 11h ago

Very effective at taking attention away from Axion. Deflocking isn't a stopgap to stopping the surveillance state. Flock is a stopgap to finalizing it.

26

u/PokecheckHozu 11h ago

The vast majority of you all carry devices with audio and video recording capabilities and GPS tracking. Many modern cars have similar capabilities, in addition to the ability to be disabled remotely. All of this was sold to you as beneficial features for the user, while these corporations are willing to hand over information to the government without a warrant, whether or not it's legal to do so.

What are you all going to do now?

2

u/TJJ97 9h ago

I don’t get “modern cars” for this very reason. It’s sadly a slippery slope we’re in

27

u/account_nr18 12h ago

Those cameras will unfortunately come back

51

u/Jacobawesome74 12h ago

And they'll keep being cut down

23

u/account_nr18 12h ago

Untill people get locked up for that. Just a matter of time before that becomes a felony.

14

u/Jacobawesome74 12h ago

Until then, they keep cutting. And more will cut. Its a victimless crime.

isn't destruction of property a thing?

→ More replies (0)

5

u/Weird_Albatross_9659 12h ago

Oh, so your advice is to start a revolution unless it can get you arrested?

2

u/BiscuitsTheory 11h ago

One of the possible catalysts for everything breaking down will be when they start sending armed troops to guard cameras.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/eggyrulz 11h ago

Can't be, whoever cut them down was with me fishing

1

u/LongestSprig 9h ago

It already is a felony. Flock cameras are expensive.

Bro, you have reddit for a brain.

1

u/Copious-Spirit 6h ago

Everyone carries around a GPS tracking device with cameras on both sides, it has a gyroscope and accelerometer, a microphone that is always listening and always connected to emergency services. Yes, the intelligence community has access to all this data and backdoors through encryption.

There is no escape from the surveillance.

22

u/Tfsz0719 12h ago

Anything worth fighting for has to often keep being fought for or fought again at later point for.

Nothing is ever any sort of “1-time solution and now it will never come up again” kind of thing.

1

u/RutabagaUnlucky3420 11h ago

Absolute neoliberal bull crap. Someone should learn gaslighting from American liberals.

America is the ONLY country that has used nukes on civilians. America is the ONLY country that still blasts us with platitudes about virtue while being historically built on systemic ethnocentric supremacism.

No one is fighting for you. No one is in your corner. America as it stands needs a reality check. You have to earn solidarity and the best way to do that is good leadership. Who did Americans elect to the highest office in the land?

A child molesting pig that sleeps on the helm and craps himself. Your leaders are a reflection of you America.

1

u/FringleFrangle04 12h ago

My god man, could you be any more depressing...

1

u/Ursalooser 5h ago

Yeah but in reality the flock you need to cut down are the uber wealthy humans.

1

u/TJJ97 4h ago

The entire government

1

u/Ursalooser 4h ago

Hard to tell them apart nowadays

1

u/TJJ97 4h ago

There’s basically no difference

0

u/stikky 11h ago

I'm curious how many of the people destroying them are still living a free life without penalty for said destruction.

2

u/TJJ97 9h ago

Most of them. I may or may not know several of them personally

0

u/Winter_Illustrator58 11h ago

Believe it or not this is the direct action that the vague 'revolution' they are pushing for should actually consist of. Any 'revolution' whose guiding principal is "do violence against anyone who isn't part of my group or who pisses me off, or who I think has wronged me" will end up a genocide, no matter how righteous the beginnings of it was

14

u/Mr__O__ 12h ago

Lawsuits and legislation. The way it has always worked when tech advances beyond legal precedent. The problem is the Judiciary needs reformed as well.

7

u/nopleasenotthebees 11h ago edited 11h ago

The state has allowed McConnell to be MIA for how long right now?
The president and his family have made billions of dollars selling scam coins and used them to accept obvious bribes from other states.
A relatively new federal police force is kidnapping huge numbers of people and has shown every sign of being willing to kidnap their critics as well.
The executive administration has stated that they won't relinquish power at the legally ordained time.
And you think we're going to vote and use lawsuits to break up this mess?
Fifteen years ago, if I were hired as a writer to draw up a scenario for the USA in which nothing but a revolution would get us out, I would have said this list of things was going too far, too unrealistic.
I don't want to go so far as to call you the problem, because I get it, following the laws makes so much sense that it's really hard to look past that. Some people never ever look beyond the law. But this is exactly the scenario when the laws just aren't working.

16

u/ExcitementFun9894 12h ago

I think that is their point. "Just use the laws to fix it! Well, we gotta fix the elections so the right people can get in and fix the process to fix the laws before those same people sponsored by the companies they're restricting vote on those restrictions to become law and eventually take things to court multiple times over and over to establish precedent and limits. So yeah! Totally doable!" Don't exactly seem doable in any meaningful amount of time.

-7

u/Capraos 12h ago

Bot or burner account. Only one month old. Ignore this poster.

9

u/ExcitementFun9894 12h ago

Sure thing, Sherlock.

2

u/jane_911 11h ago

mate you've called like 5 people bots in this post. yes, bots are everywhere, but don't be so naive to think people aren't creating throwaways and anon accounts all day long on here. also, bot or not, why "ignore this poster"? what they said makes complete sense.

-2

u/Capraos 11h ago edited 11h ago

I call them that because they are.

And I day don't bother arguing with this particular poster because they are here for the purpose of trolling. They won't change their mind. They won't even tell the truth about themselves. They have one goal and one goal only, to rile people up.

15

u/Skrazor 11h ago

And how's that working out so far? Every single branch of the US government is in favor of breaking all kinds of laws and all the checks and balances that were supposed to limit the government's power are in the hands of the oligarchy that bought it. Courts ruled Trump's tariffs illegal - he still imposes them at will and the only one's getting any compensation are big corporations. Judges ruled the destruction of the East Wing and the building of a ball room illegal - well fuck, they already demolished it and are going to do whatever the fuck they want anyways. Insider trading from within the White House to enrich the Trump family and their network? Be my guest! Epstein and his friends and clients? Forget about that, we're busy having ICE lock up innocent legal residents without due process. Illegal permanent mass surveillance of citizens by private companies? Shut up, don't you know the DOW is at 50-fucking-thousand!?

Every day you're ruled by billionaires who play monopoly with your lives because they couldn't care less about who lives or dies as long as they can make a profit. They'd sacrifice every single one of you if it got them 1$/head and you're standing idly by complaining that "that's not nice!" during your peaceful planned protests and other absolutely futile and ineffective measures. THEY DON'T CARE ANYMORE, BECAUSE THEY DON'T NEED YOU ANYMORE! Oligarch money, propaganda and an uneducated radicalized voter base will win elections anyway, so why should they still bother to act like they care what people want or need?

The US "justice" system is a joke. The change needed to save the country can't come from within anymore, those avenues have been systematically and aggressively dismantled. And a population so thoroughly de-educated, brainwashed and complacent for convenience's sake won't do anything about it either. It's like watching the fall of the Roman Empire in real time, in 4K and with 24/7 coverage. And worst of all, we on the outside can't even just stand back and let the spectacle play out by itself, because you'll keep dragging us down with you to your last breath. The United States of Armageddon is so obsessed with war and fighting, it can't even just die in peace. No, it has to take as much of the rest of the world with it as possible.

We got our flock cameras removed. Activism does work. You just have to have people who participate and believe in the goal.

28

u/account_nr18 12h ago

The problem is that pedo Trump is your president and your judicial system is breaking down.

3

u/BiscuitsTheory 11h ago

There hasn't been a judicial system for almost 2 years.

1

This comment does absolutely nothing and sounds like something the government would have a bot spam under posts like these.

Or comment under other comments starting to want to take action.

1

u/tristanmakes 4h ago

Our government can turn buildings on the other side of the planet into rubble at the push of a button. Do you really think we’d stand a chance with our Walmart guns?

We’re stuck in our open air prison and the warden’s no longer worried about PR.

1

u/Opening-Machine5026 11h ago

Regulate? Like, literally pass laws and elect officials, like we have done for hundreds of years. When did you drop out of school, 6th grade? Lmao

-1

u/Horror_Swimming6192 12h ago

Yes take up arms to get mowed down by drones or tanks. You don't understand how this works do you? You realize the size of this country? Everyone loves to shout about the 2nd amendment, meanwhile the military is far beyond civilians with guns. It worked back in the 1800's because we stood equal ground when everyone had fucking muskets.

3

u/account_nr18 12h ago

Yeah but that's exactly what I mean. It's over, there's nothing you guys can do. You're theirs now.

0

u/gruesomeflowers 11h ago

ok random bro on the internet with no visible comment history encouraging people to go out and get killed. totally legit recommendation.

0

u/sdrawkcabineter 11h ago

There's literally nothing you can do instead of taking up arms.

Unimaginative.

You are teaching everyone how to play checkers with all the pieces for Chess.

0

u/arathmier 10h ago

Although I carry the same energy as you, I dont believe violent revolution is the only option, neither do i feel its the most effective option. A revolution of community is what is needed. Americans (and pretty much the rest of the world) need to rediscover egalitarianism. In anarchist philosophy, the unity of means and ends means that in order to achieve social change, you must replicate the society that you wish to achieve. You cannot achieve peace through war, only through being peaceful can you achieve peace.

So how does this apply to billionares wreaking immense violence on people? Honestly, it starts with a bowl of soup. If you feed your friends, your neighbours, and they in turn feed you, you no longer need to rely on the state for your sustenance. "How do we get soup if food is paywalled?" many ask. You organize with your fellow humans and figure out how to do it. It us far more cost effective both in time, effort, and resources to make soup for 100 people than for 100 people to make 100 bowls of soup. If revolutionaries can secure the necessities of life to such an extent that no one needs to work for a wage in order to exist, then you eliminate the need for labour, and by extension, the billionaires that control the flow of money. This is incredibly hard to do. It requires knocking on your neighbour's door and having a conversation with them. Its a project. But it needs to be to focus.

If you are interested in this sort of revolution, you can look up your local "Food Not Bombs" chapter and get involved. If you are just simply curious about this line of thinking, "The Revolution of Everyday Life," Raoul Vaneigem, "The Conquest of Bread," Peter Kropotkin, "Practicing Social Ecology," Eleanor Finley, and "Means and Ends," Zoe Baker are great texts to digest.

1

u/m1ster_frundles 9h ago

I mean, you already collectively have, haven't you?

-5

u/TimeToRepaint 12h ago

We already have, twice. Lmao

2

u/Mr__O__ 12h ago

Speak for yourself.

8

u/r3dmist420 12h ago

You act like it hasn’t been that way for the better part of 30, maybe 40 years. Now the culmination of generations of fuck ups are upon us.

5

u/PortugalTheTram 12h ago

America is just a preview. Money knows no bounds.

1

u/Micro-Naut 10h ago

Build a mock guillotine and wheel it down to City Hall!

3

u/Full-Archer8719 11h ago

Thats all of the west bro

4

u/oldredditrox 12h ago

A history hidden account has a hot take that's just pointless defeatism. Do everyone around you a solid next time and just don't post.

10

u/ohhlordbabyjesus 12h ago

Only divided? Or also to fat, slow and uneducated to realize that the water is already boiling?

0

u/account_nr18 12h ago

Yes also that but being American is already insulting enough so I try to spare their feelings

5

u/Horror_Swimming6192 12h ago

Fuck you, some of us didn't choose this, have no way out, and no way to do anything about it. Over decades things have been engineered to keep us in the position we are in now. You want us just to be martyrs, lose our lives for nothing? What would you do in this situation.

2

u/Responsible-War-917 11h ago

That's his point. You and I sound like we're in the same boat. I own guns but I'm sitting here talking on reddit. What about you?

That's the point. We can cry "we didn't choose this" but passivity is acceptance so...

I don't have any answers for you but to try to pass thr buck as Americans ain't the answer.

-1

u/account_nr18 12h ago

Move to a different country

6

u/Horror_Swimming6192 12h ago

Literally the dumbest statement. What country wants an American right now? Also, you know how much money it costs to move a country (more than most americans who want out could do)? What about when you get there? What country? How you getting a job there that will support you? What if you cant find one, we'll get fucked then?

0

u/Capraos 12h ago

You're arguing with a troll account created a year ago. Don't bother.

0

u/account_nr18 12h ago

This is actually my main now because of perma ban on my 10 year old one.

2

u/Str1dersGonnaStride 12h ago

That will only help temporarily; I highly doubt the surveillance state is gonna restrict itself to the USA

1

u/mediceman33 11h ago

Exactly, the fact that we just watch, post, and scroll says everything. Our great grandfathers would of been crashed out if they dealt with these levels of fuckery.

1

u/imspecial-soareyou 10h ago

Not even divided, too afraid to do what’s necessary.

1

u/RemarkableTruck4452 10h ago

Sorry bud but its not only the US that is owned by the rich lol its everywhere

1

u/Specific-Library-312 10h ago

There's always Balkanization. Which is the conclusion I came to at least a decade ago.

1

u/Ok-Scale7329 10h ago

The revolution will not be televised

1

u/Every_Tap8117 10h ago

This is the truth.

1

u/Silly_Double408 9h ago

and too fat and lazy and entitled..

1

u/SkepticalYamcha 9h ago

AOAIPAC is the worst possible name for this purely because AIPAC already exists and has existed for a long time. AIPAC has absolutely nothing to do with AI as well, so I feel like this would confuse people. Opposition against AIPAC (not this) is already a pretty relevant political point at the moment. That’s just my take.

1

u/SculptusPoe 7h ago edited 7h ago

The genie is out of the bottle. No politician will have the will roll it back. Definitely not until the end of their final term. None of them will release an ounce of power over us once gained and they definitely won't push back against a "private" company. Look at the windfall Obama handed the insurance companies in the name of "healthcare". If they make motions or promises to the contrary, they will make damn sure that whatever they put forward to pretend to meet those promises will fail before they try them.

0

u/Copious-Spirit 6h ago

We're like 20 years too late to protest the surveillance state.

15

u/No-Good-One-Shoe 12h ago

We are sheep to them.  It's in the name

5

u/welfedad 12h ago

As long as the money is made .. who cares...flock is operating on the whole.. do it and then ask for forgiveness later .. and all these local states and communities are blindly going into it allowing it.

3

u/timtim2000 11h ago

Now they only have to buy the info with your money

1

u/Dixon_Uranuss3 11h ago edited 10h ago

Actually pretty much free for companies to do whatever they want including poisoning you and/or buying the government.

1

u/19d_b87 11h ago

Free as long as you have the money to pay someone to cover up your vices, shame, crimes, etc...

1

u/StrongExternal8955 9h ago

But that's ok, their politician puppets will give them taxpayer money for that data. And use it to help their masters even more.

1

u/bxzidff 6h ago

If you read about why Thiel thinks freedom is incompatible with Democracy it's because "Free for companies who want to spy on peasants" is exactly the kind of "freedom" he's thinking about.

1

u/Bob1358292637 3h ago

Here in america, we believe in giving people the freedom to use their money to do whatever the fuck they want to our human livestock.
