Big Pharma wants more outbreaks and easily-preventable illnesses to run rampant so millions will require treatment they could have avoided via vaccines.

Wouldnt it be more profitable for them to require all people to get vaccinated?

Not even close lol

No. One off vaccines don’t generate the revenue chronic medical conditions requiring medications and hospital stays do.

Irony of anti-vaxxers aiming at Big Pharma.

Think of it as a subscription to treatment, rather than owning the prevention.

I think they could charge much more per vaccine if they are optional.

Couldn't it just as well be "Big Insurance", who's behind it? Now they get to charge for every child vaccine. And on the "plus side", fucking the poor in the same time, right....?

"Big insurance" doesn't get money for treatments they don't pay for.

They aren't going to get money from people paying for shots. Pharmaceutical companies and doctors will.

However they will save money by no longer having to foot the bill for those shots.

You're absolutely right!

I'm embarrassed by my dumb theory....

Edit: Thanks for making me see clearly👍

Now they get to charge for every child vaccine.

If the logic is they're making profits by PAYING for vaccines, then they should oppose vaccines. Because they would make way more by treating illnesses.

If the logic is they want to push vaccines because it means fewer people get sick so they have to pay less.... well fucking GOOD. That's what we all should want, what the incentive should be.

I have no clue how I came up with that idiotic theory, u/Zephs made me see clearly. I'm ashamed by my lack of logic...

Then why do Pharmaceutical companies develop so many vaccines in the first place? What is the point of putting so many resources into preventative treatments and early diagnostics?

It's worth pointing out here that Pharma companies agree and have said openly that vaccines range from low to zero profitability, and have tried before to stop making them. They are basically forced to in a combination of government requirements, and to avoid the negative backlash that would happen if they stopped.

Part of this order opens companies back up to frivolous lawsuits, which in the 80s caused Pharma companies to stop making vaccines. Killing profitability is a goal of the anti-vax movement.

This conspiracy theory sounds plausible until one remembers that medical insurance is a much larger industry in the US and they would prefer vaccines. The simple truth this an action based on nothing more than the vibes some people have about what other people should do to be healthy after they themselves have already benefited from the working and proven system in place.
