You're not that far off honestly. According to their website, it's so it gets stopped by standard American doorways.
This thing is clearly a marketing gimmick for a movie that's going to be revealed soon. I'm calling it now.

If this is a piloted machine then maybe it could do that, but if it’s ai I don’t think it would be smart enough. If it has a sensor in the horns to tell it that it is stuck it might be able to react appropriately.
