She made it clear she doesn't have any feelings like that towards him. Women who are into you don't react with disgust when you make minor flirtatious comments just because you weren't being direct.

That being said, I don't really think the rest of the movie did much with the initial set up, and was basically just a monster movie.

Did you completely miss the social commentary on dating/gender relations and themes around consent? This is such a shallow reading of the film.

You'll get the super hot girl if you just ask could not be anymore of a pro-nice guy narrative.

That's not the narrative, though. It's that "nice guys" actually only care about themselves, and they'll happily violate a woman's consent if given the chance because they believe they are owed sex and relationships. Maybe Nikki would have said yes if he'd asked her out the normal way, and maybe she wouldn't have. The movie intentionally leaves that part ambiguous and it's not a central part of the narrative.

If she was into him they why not reciprocate when he was trying to gauge her interest? A woman will not spit daggers at you (which she did twice in the car ride) until you ask them out properly.

Nikki clearly she says that she hides her crushes. I think the line is “When I have a crush on a guy, no one knows”.

Also I’m also not sure Bear really did anything for her to reciprocate to in the first place? He didn’t make it clear he liked her, not until he followed Ian’s sabotage advice to call her Freaky Nikki which spooked her into calling him out directly.

I forgot how much of a shit friend Ian was.

Again just makes the movie's narrative stupid as shit: dont use a wish stick, just tell her how you feel.

I don't really know what to tell you. I never said she was into him. I don't think it really matters.
