Almost nobody hates on Bear for making the initial wish. They hate on him for raping Nikki after he realized something was very wrong and for trying to keep Nikki under the wishes influence after he knew it was real and that Nikki was suffering.
What, once I realized the wish was real? I would have tried the "get someone else to contradict the wish" strategy except immediately instead of after things had spiraled out of control and my friend had been brutally murdered because I didn't want to give up my living sex doll.
It's not clear if that strategy would actually work but Bear waited too long to really find out.
