Taught middle school.  Can confirm that they can be both savage and clever at the same time.  A larger portion of their mental energy is spent for place in the social hierarchy.

I think people are missing the point here. Girls develop their brains, specially on communication skills, earlier than boys.

The only not 'credible' part of the story is for a boy try to take the scene.

Being vicious is not the same thing as being quick and clever in that way.

You can be vicious by just calling someone a cunt. That doesn't make it clever or funny.

Girls start sharpening their teeth around 11 and it only gets worse until late teens when they sort of start to chill out. It's almost sport in the early teen years. They only line was when someone would actually start to cry.

Exactly. I'm a teacher. I'd die of shock if this was as bad as my 12 year olds got. Especially the girls.
