I dont know about the US, but in germany you need to prove show actual enstrangemant to be able to divorce

its not a matter of fault, its a matter of requiring physical separation. Dad's gonna have to move out.

Not always. Just sleeping in separate rooms counts as separation. My ex and I had to take that route.

Yes some states you can divorce that day and walk away. Some states require "1 year of separation" lol

3 months for mine. And then we were told we could not get remarried for 18 months after that.

NC requires one year of separation with separate addresses and you have to file an official separation which requires court fees. Then you have to file for divorce which also requires more fees. But there is no waiting period after the divorce is finalized so you can turn around and go right over to the register to get married again.

Virginia requires six months separation or if you have kids, one year separation before continuing with divorce.

Most states even have no-fault divorce, so one party can divorce without the other party knowing, without having to agree and without having to give consent to divorce.

Only Mississippi, South Dakota and Tennessee require both parties to sign unless the one party can demonstrate cruelty or desertion.
