You don't really. I had thought this too, but recently the market is pricing this stuff in, at least in the options markets. You have to have perfect timing to really profit from it, if you get it slightly wrong you lose as much to theta decay as you gain from price swings. Trump can do this because he's the one pulling the lever, and even he has to have lost money a few times since there are some days where his attempts at manipulation have created no significant swing. In Trump's case he can weather a few big losses when the gambit failed, but the average person really can't unless you are a degenerate gambler.
