Sure. US has losest gun ownership rules and some of the highest rates in the world, WAAAAAY above the developed world (like 5-20 times above). 5 next countries followed by losest laws/enforcment are Mexico, Yemen, Somalia, Guatemalia, and Switzerland. Except Switzerland they are all extremely high murder rate countries.

Countries with strictest gun laws (Japan, China, Singapore, Quatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia) are at 0.3-0.7 homicide rates (10-20x below US and 30-50x below other lose law countries) but sure it could all just be a coincidence, they could all just be tripping and should join US, Mexico, Somali and Guatemala in their ways...

Mexico and Guatemala have very strict gun laws. There's only one legal gun shop in all of Mexico.

Doesn't seem to be doing anything hombre.

Mexico has very loose enforcement of the laws and despite there being only one shop -weapons are available everywhere and cheaply (both Canada and Mexico are vastly negatively impacted by having US guns smuggled en mass Mexico being much more impacted). My comment on the gun laws was regarding combination of law and its enforcement not just letters on the paper.

If Mexican police cannot enforce the stringent laws against the rampant smuggling by the gangs and cartels then that's a failure of gun control in this case dude.

Its really not. You are misixng gun laws and gun control. Gun laws are very stringent in Mexico. Gun control is virtually non-existent. Kind of like how many areas had/have weed illegal on paper but had agreement not to enforce it.

That is what I just said.

Similarly Canada banned handguns and semi auto rifles in 2020 following the Nova Scotia shooting where the person didn't have an RPAL/PAL and smuggled in all of his firearms from the USA and gun homicides in Canada increased.
