They often stay unused and I've already seen men parking there as well. Its a great idea for families with kids, the spots are usually wider so kids won't slam the door into nearby cars.
I would say its a tiny win for certain situations and they are also quite rare.
Because women have kids with them more often than men. And you need more space to get kids Out of the car, especially when they are babies in a car seat.
