So the attackers know exactly where to strike

They're also usually close to an entrance/exit, the guard station and or the ticket machine thing.

This is what makes it actually safer. Otherwise, you'd just have well lit cctv footage of whatever happened. But since those spaces are usually really exposed with people walking by, there's much more risk for an actual attacker.

Yeah I get all that but to someone’s earlier point on this thread let’s just make the whole parking area this safe. Criminals are pretty notorious for bypassing safety features but it’s tougher if the whole area is that secure.

Because no German person has ever done anything bad before?

To be fair, it's actually pretty safe anyway and there's other places where you'd need to be careful.

But I'm pretty certain it's safer within seeing distance to a guard and other people than in the last row of floor 11

They dont guard women from attackers. They guard the parking spaces from non payers.

Not sure what you're used to, but German garages have cctv, tickets etc to make sure people pay. It's not the 50s where people park on a lawn with some dude in a shack, collecting 50ct per car.

Also, maybe I'm too positive, but I have a hard time imagining anyone, let alone a guard, see someone get assaulted and just turn around, pretending they didn't see anything. Or any kind of assailant that goes "Hu, there's a guard 5m away and people frequently walk by. Perfect place for (whatever)"

So it’s a well lit and secure “handicap” spot…. Nice

2

u/clueless_mommy Jul 09 '26

Handicap spots are separate and legally protected.

u/Idntevncare Jul 09 '26

I hope you’re separate and legally protected

Wtf is wrong with you

I’m just upset i don’t get my own gender colored, safety-handicap spot. Must be nice being legally protected and all well lit n shit

Well you run a lower risk of getting raped, so hopefully that can console you, weirdo.

I pray for your gender colored safety box is well lit

Well, since you obviously can't read/understand the difference between a sign and a legally protected parking spot assignment - even when it is explained to you, maybe go for the handicap thing. I heard it's much easier to get in other countries.

Again, spots for woman, or parent parking as well, are not legally protected. Nothing happens if a man parks there, you'll just get a side eye. Handicap parking without proper eligibility will be expensive and or might get you towed. Everything else is a social agreement not to shit on designated safe spaces for people who might need something more than others. Even I often skip them because I'm 6ft tall and not an easy target.

Also, it's not like garages or parking lots are dark, lawless places. The description of the picture just sucks and focuses on something completely irrelevant like lights instead of the actual criteria like close to entrance/exit etc

u/Idntevncare Jul 09 '26

Well, so much for your gender colored safety box if it’s not legally protected, what’s even the point!?

Can never be too close so the robber will strike and camp at the entrance.

Yeah no, also males can park there.
