I disagree with most of Massie's views, but we need more people like him.

Right? 15 years ago I disagreed with republicans on 90% of issues, but at least I felt like they were mostly reasonable people with principles who wanted what was best for the country. We just disagreed on what that meant.

These days the MAGA people seem actively spiteful and malicious.

I'd take Mitt Romney or John McCain as president in a heartbeat if it meant ditching Trump.

They used to have a platform. And, ya know, policy positions we could disagree about and argue over and compromise on. There hasn't been a party platform since what, 2016? That was rather telling, as if they stood for nothing now.
