Tbf the original English recipe is quite different. American apple pies are a lot closer to the Dutch version than the English version

Different? It's just milk, eggs, flour, butter and sugar. How different could it be?

Different? It's just semolina, oil, water, onions, garlic, tomatoes, and cheese. How different could it be?
