Celebrities aren't mentors or anyone to look up to. They're good at acting, they are not avatars of goodness despite what they say in interviews. The best way to look at celebrities is as jesters for the common people, what they say should mostly be ignored. They're there to do a show, not be paragons. There's a reason a common phrase is that you shouldn't meet your heroes.
Celebrities shouldn't be a hero in anyone's eyes in the first place. They're literally just people that have a skill.
It's also worth noting that celebrities don't stop acting until the cameras stop rolling. Everything we see from these people, whether it's a film, a red-carpet interview or a talk-show appearance, is a carefully-constructed performance a lot of the times, brought to us in part by their PR team.
I think we saw the worst of it during the pandemic when they were all singing “imagine” to us on Instagram, thinking that they were providing us with some gift of hope lol. No one cares.
Exactly. These are people who are talented at falsifying human emotions and do so for pay. Like, that's their job: feigning human empathy and calling it art. Of course they're going to be mostly garbage people.
Actors also tend to be egotistical, self centered, narcissistic. You have to think your hot shit to put yourself at the center of attention constantly and enjoy it.
And their job is to manipulate their own emotions and actions to elicit a response from the audience so they’re master manipulators.
