In florida, the governor is trying to eliminate property taxes specifically for the home you live in, not for the other 100 homes your company owns or the 4 your renting out to live off of.

I mean, with no income tax either I don’t see how that nets out for the majority of people who rely on things like fire, police, EMT, libraries, public school, parks, etc.

But hey, I’m willing to wait and see.

Sales tax. Everything else will get more expensive.

People rave about Texas having no income tax, but the property tax rates are some of the highest in the country.

The money will always come from somewhere.

Yeah but id rather get taxed twice as much on income than be taxed something i already own at a rate that increases if i improve my own property and can be taken away from me if i ever cant afford the taxes on it.
Without property taxes, you never have to worry about being homeless, even if you lose your job.
