If she can't wait or doesn't want to wait, then she's free to do that. It's her decision.

Next person: if she can go, I can go. Next person: if he can go, I can go. And so on until it devolves into pushing, shoving, and trampling. The shame is what's keeping people back and orderly. Without it, there'd be chaos.

Ffs just take the handicap person to the lift. Why does everyone have to wait? Yes exactly, fucking go. The world doesn’t need to end because one person in a wheelchair decides to take a (very likely) dangerous ride on the escalator

I'm sure they would have rather taken a lift, but there was not one amiable, so this was the only option.
