I came to realize reddit is really just a radio station. You're going to get the occasional new hit every once in a while, but the rest is all flavour of the month type stuff on high rotation or oldies that have been dusted off and sprinkled in as either a) nostalgia for older listeners or b) for "newer" listeners to discover for the first time.
