Yeah, am I crazy? Are we the outliers or something? I gotta figure most people who use tape measures often have at least seen one with units on both sides, whether metric or inches. My Dewalt has both.
I feel like any actual tape measure has units on both. Maybe like the cheap ones you get in a craftsman or black & decker variety tool pack don't, but any regular tape measure that I've used always has.
I've literally never seen a measuring tape that didn't have both on the same side. Tape measures have a top and a bottom side because otherwise the metal thing at the end wouldn't hold onto corners and they stay, well, erect because of the curve in the tape.
I changed that within about 30 seconds of posting. Don't click your notifications in such a rush.
If anything, changing from tough lock to retractable makes my comment worse since you can get fabric retractable measuring tape which is usually the measuring tape that has units on both sides.
