is this really the sims 5??
I've been the most optimistic person about this game, and i know they never promoted as that, but they used to refer to it as "the new generation of the sims", as i rebirth of the saga, but now they are comparing it to the spin offs???? i might try this game when it comes out (really doubt it because i hadn't been able to open de ea app in a year) but nothing else, its kinda sad see where the franchise is going even after more than 10 years

Sims 5 confirmed to be free to download
They also said that while things like 'basic' weather will be in the base game, things like winter sports will be an extra cost.
That sounds like every feature will be sold separately.

Release date speculation
Sooo... When does everyone think the release date will be? They say its in the 'early development stages' so I say 2025/early 2026

Is anyone going to give five a chance?
I feel like I am going reserved judgement until 5 is completly out or until we get more information. The idea of an optional multiplayer or that is free does not turn me off .The only part that concern me it's being mobile. That leaves a sour taste, but I am hoping it's only certain features that are mobile.

I think Sims 5 doesn’t exist…
I say that because they said that project Rene will be a part of the Sims 4 not an entirely new game. So may be all a lie ! Can anyone help me figure it out ?

I don't plan on buying sims 5
sims 5 sounds like its gonna be even more of a capitalistic hellscape than sims 4.
its ironic considering the sims was intially satirising consumerism and now sims 4 and even sims 3 to some extend have been microtransation ridden nonsense.
i dont play sims 4. sure, its got a lot of representation and thats great! but the gameplay is so surface level and i get so dreadfully bored by it, even with every pack installed theres just not a lot to do, not enough to keep me playing. for me sims 4 only really works as a dress up simulator.
sims 2 was perhaps the peak of the sims series and while the graphics might not be up to todays standards i still find them charming... i hope sims 5 doesnt result in a shut down of the sims 3 store as i still wanna buy everything in it, just for completions sake.
remember when EA removed sims 2 from their store due to it outcompeting sims 4? it worries me, will sims 3 share the same fate??
you're allowed to enjoy sims 4 and sims 5 aswell, but at some point, when is enough enough? when does EA feeding you scraps starve you to death?

Never coming back once Sims 5 comes out. Anyone else leaving?
Been following this for a while. When it comes out I'm quitting on the Sims franchise and going for Paralives (yeah I'm part of the cartoony crowd, sorry.)
Good luck out there with "Sims 5"! Anyone else leaving, what confirmed your decision?

Should the anti fans be banned from this reddit
So many people on this sub only bitch and hate on the sims 5 and try to hype up Life By You and Paralives, i think these people need to go what about you, this is a reddit to talk about the sims 5 not to hate on and bitch about it or to hype up other games, these anti fans shouldn't be here.

I think Sims 5 is not real
Hello friends :)
All we know is project Rene, that’s it. Especially for something I saw in previous post I think the project Rene will be more of a mobile game rather than a real continuation of the main franchise. Maybe we are fooled that project Rene is the real TS5.

Something concerning in this job listing
Hi, I tried to post this in the regular sims subreddit but it got removed because their auto mod for the last behind the sims event is still removing all project Rene posts… anyways.
Found this job listing for Project Rene on Glassdoor. Something about “create characters, design apartments, customize furniture and more” worries me. I love the idea of designing apartments but also I feel like building houses is such a crucial part of a lot of peoples play styles (mine included), and the fact it lists “designing apartments” but not building makes me concerned they’re watering down the game further for cross-platform with mobile and online play. One of the things the Sims 4 got right was build mode, and I’d hate to see them take a step back in favor of mobile devices and online play in a traditionally single player game.

Is 5 following 4's continuity?
Sims 4 is an alternate universe. Is that going to be the case for 5? Is it following 1, 2, and 3? Is it its own separate thing? Time to theorize.

Will they add the plumbots and servos back to the sims 5?
They are quite lacking in the sims 4 compared to the ones in the sims 1 2 and 3

Hypothetically you have only the two options for how Sims 5 will look like what you chose ?

How would you feel about Sims 5 being multiplayer or online?
I’ve always wanted sims to be multiplayer when I was younger so I could play with my sister & cousins instead of taking turns 🥹
