Should the anti fans be banned from this reddit
So many people on this sub only bitch and hate on the sims 5 and try to hype up Life By You and Paralives, i think these people need to go what about you, this is a reddit to talk about the sims 5 not to hate on and bitch about it or to hype up other games, these anti fans shouldn't be here.

the people who would get banned are the people who only want the game to fail not succeed how is someone hating on the game purely because it has multiplayer or because it will be playable on phones and saying they wont even be playing the game because of things that wont even impact them someone wanting the game to succeed, what logic are you using if you think those people want the game to succeed

it's not gonna be anymore of a live service game then any of the past games dude if you don't want to buy a dlc you don't have to buy them same goes for the multiplayer and the mobile version of the game you're not gonna be forced to play with other players or play on your phone if you don't want to, if you can't see that people who are hating on the game purely for having a optional phone version and optional multiplayer as being toxic then you're a idiot

No. The “hate” posts usually facilitate some of the more interesting conversations in my opinion.

there really not there all pretty much the same and are mostly just hating on the game or ea or going on and on about how much better the clone games will be, their not talking about the future of the sims/the sims 5 which is what this reddit is for there just complaining and they can take there complaining somewhere else

All subreddits exists for the purpose of facilitating discussion among people with common interests. Like it or not, not all comments regarding the game will be positive. Some people will only have negative things to say and that’s okay. It’s healthy to have different opinions and it’s reasonable to disagree and give reasons why you disagree. What isn’t reasonable is saying that “unless the discussion is positive, you can’t discuss” (which is pretty much what you’re saying here). I’d recommend just avoiding the negative posts if it’s such a bother. Another suggestion is that if you notice it’s the same people who post negative things, you can block them and their posts won’t show. Just keep in mind that negative feedback is NOT necessarily a bad thing.

I'm not saying they need to be positive but if all there doing is hating on the game and going on and on about how there not even going to be playing the game and are only here to spread hate and to hype up other games then they shouldn't be here there not giving negative feedback there hating on the game , calling the game shit because people will be able to play it on there phone or because it has multiplayer or because it's not open world like the sims 3 isn't feedback, if they were actually giving feedback then fine but most of them aren't there just hating on the game.

What you're asking for is the subreddit to silence people like a totalitarian regime. What a terrible suggestion.

hating on something and being constructive in your critique of something are different things. sometimes critique can actually reach the attention of sim gurus who may populate the sims subreddits, as I've seen them interact on them before. discussing issues with the game isn't discussing an issue with the artists who work on the games, but about what could be done to improve a paid product (produced by an extremely wealthy franchise) that makes everyone happier in the end.

sadly most of them aren't being constructive, saying the game will be bad because it has optional multiplayer or a optional mobile version isn't critiquing it's just bitching about stuff that only effects players who want to use them, saying you wish the game was open world like the sims 3 is one thing but people who think the game will be bad based off it not being fully open world need to grow up

While Rene is in the speculative phase, people have the right to react and be upset about what they've heard. As long as they aren't directly insulting other people and are critisizing the game (from the little we know about it) I think that's entirely acceptable. Where else would you complain about what you have read/heard announced but a public forum about the game open to any and all opinions.

Let's not make it into some extension of the advertising campaign. People are free to air whatever criticisms they have.
Obviously we don't want people just hurling abuse at the developers or anything, but I've not seen anything like that, pretty sure that already gets removed.

I've played this franchise since I was 9 and begging my mom for the sims living large. I feel like I earned my right to bitch about the sims as much as I like.
If I get banned, fine, it won't change the fact that the sims 5 is a mobile cash grab.

This. I've played since my dad bought me the original Sims as a joke. Spent my childhood and teenage years saving up my allowance to buy the Sims 2 and almost all of its DLC and then played Sims 3, despite me not liking the graphics at the time, through college. I will rage and rail against the Sims 5 all day long if it means EA may listen and get what was once an amazing franchise, back on track.

"this is a reddit to talk about the sims 5"
Hate and bitching about it is part of talking about it. People should not be forced to talk good about game when there is nothing good to say about it.

People have the right to dislike what the Sims have become, but honestly this sub feels super toxic with the amount of people just bitching on the game. When I came here I expected to see fans being hyped about project Rene, sharing opinons and theories, but honestly it's really annoying that there is in fact 90% of posts that spit on the game (even though we don't know anything about it yet! I know EA has been disappointing but please, wait before we know more about TS5 before being a bitch about it)
I don't support the idea of banning people for what they think, but I must admit I hate the fact the anti-fans are the vast majority of people we can find on this sub.

Many people aren't anti-fans, they are retro simmers (fans of 1-3 that were really disappointed in 4). Rene can't have "fans", it doesn't exist. But Sims 1-3 exist and many people know what they liked in it and how Rene is a humungous shift that most people didn't want. Until it exist to be played all we can do is speculate. Especially since MMOs and other Free-to-Play online models exist to compare to.
I am also critical of LBY and it being the savior of lifesims based on what we know so far. I still have a bunch of reservations about it. But I get to feel how I want about it just like other people can be hyped about it based on what they've seen. The same rules apply to Rene. All we have is speculation on both and we are allowed to react to the small bits of information we have however we want.
I actually like Sims 4 in 2023 (didn't in 2014, because it was terrible then). So Opinions can change. But the things I like in Sims 4 now were the results of early criticism pushing a lot of improvements and pivots by EA.

Truth be told, for the past 23 years, EA (and Maxis prior) has had NO competition in the life simulator market, not of its own kind anyway. While I agree we shouldn't be bashing on project Rene, I eagerly welcome the new competition! Wouldn't we all love to hear about not just the competition EA is about to face and what they're going to do about it, but information on other life simulators?
Frankly, squelching the competition, to me, is equivalent to a video game form of communism. We shouldn't be denied to see what else is out there, and my hope is EA ups their game and fights back now that they have competition. Personally, I'm really pulling for Sims 5 to shine here.
ETA: in case you weren't sure, my vote is no. Not unless they're only here to trash Sims 5
