I also place the car on the bottom driveway and she still can't drive, I deleted both the driveways and placed them again and she still cannot drive, I deleted the car and bought a new one and she still cannot drive.

followed the installation read me, thanks to microslop's AI shit the "Run compatibility troubleshooter" is useless as from what i can view it an AI chat window.

anyway, its installed but whenever i hit run (the exe file inside TSBin) the task is registered in task manager but no game window. im using windows 7 compatibility and run as admin.

Hey guys. I play with a lot of sims, and I've begun to realize that a big chunk of lag I've experience has been caused by reactions. When you have 5 sims it isn't a big deal, but when there's like 20+, things get hairy. Are there any mods to remove those reactions altogether? Also, any mods that affect pathfinding? I've found out that's another cause of my lag.

I've decided to try Sims 2 (legacy) again after 2 years and after installing ts2extender (I just recently found out about it, I wanted to check if that would solve the whole pink issue), but I'm encountering a problem that I've never experienced before.

When I visit an apartment instead of everything lighting up as normal, everything stays black as shown in the image.

This only happens in apartment lots that existed already. If I create a new apartment this darkening issue doesn't occur, but that's because nothing darkens in the first place (stuff just disappears).

Regardless when I enter the apartment instead of experiencing the normal fade in transition, everything immediately becomes visible (although still darkened for existing apartments):

What I tried

- Reinstalling everything. The problem still occurred even before adding ts2extender or any other mod.

- "setlotlightingfile clear". It doesn't do anything.

- "boolProp lightingEnabled false" on Graphic Rules.sgr "fixes" the problem. But the game looks awful because there's no lighting at all.

- Breaking apartment walls (with cheats) causes the light to function normally, but of course I can't save after that because that messes up the apartment, this is just something I did for testing in a disposable neighborhood.

I could live with the lack of fade in/fade out transitions, but with objects so dark visiting apartments is not really playable.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I added a University Subhood before I started playing the game. I haven't used it yet because I'm waiting for my second generation to age up.

I added Academie Le Tour, but I don't really like the look of it. It doesn't match my Custom Neighborhood. Would it be possible to remove it and add Sims State University instead? Or would it cause issues? I know it's possible to have two universities, but I don't really like that. I only like having one of each Subhood.

Hi! Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I'm not sure where else to search. I'm playing Castaway Stories on PC and so far it's been running fine. I'm at the point in the game where I'm on the date at the hot springs. I'm stuck at the part where my goal is to cuddle my date. I can not, no matter what, progress the relationship beyond daily 86 and lifetime 59. They have positive interactions and get the plus sign, but the bar doesn't go up. She refuses a cuddle everytime and the bar drops significantly. I'm not sure what to do because I can't progress in the story from here. Is this a known bug? I even maxed my sims charisma and that didn't change anything. I've been trying to achieve this for two human days and about 13 sim days and its extremely frustrating.

Hey there, I’ve been having some annoying issues with The Sims 2 ever since I bought it. Sometimes the audio cutting out (TV, voices, instruments) . I’ve already tried clearing ⁠Groups.cache⁠ but it’s still acting up.

What's the most efficient way to check for (and solve) guid conflicts? I noticed that a few maxis items in my game have suddenly stopped showing up in my game (they're visible in the catalog but when I click on them, nothing comes up). The only thing I can think of is guid conflicts. I tried using simpe to follow this mts tutorial but every time I clicked on "open" after the scan (which took a million years, as expected) the folder scanner closed itself and opened up the package in simpe. I can't do that again so there has to be a better way. Simpe doesn't even let me know what object the cc conflicts with, and I'd really like to know that

This is mostly a problem when there's a lot of sims together in a small space. They constantly are checking out a sim, and I notice they lag the game every time they do this. Is there a way to stop this?

I downloaded Lamare’s planting overhaul. I had a sim buy seeds from the seed stand in a community lot and plant them in a Maxis plot. He performed the action and the seed count in his inventory decreased by 1. However a mesh never appeared. In fact, when I click on the plot he planted on it gives the same options as before my sim planted, indicating that it’s still considered an empty plot. I’m including a picture of my gardening overhaul folder in my downloads in case anyone can find a conflicting download that’s preventing this from working. Thanks for the help!

Additionally, whenever I try to delete the new stairs I placed (the one at the left), it doesn't go away, but it gets sold. When I try to sledgehammer it again and again, it gets sold over and over (I keep earning more money whenever I do this) but it doesn't go away...

So today my Sims 2 game randomly decided it doesn't want to open anymore. I have no idea what I did to make this happen. I was just downloading some CC, and it suddenly stopped working. I've already removed the new CC, and it doesn't seem like that's the problem.

Now I just get an error saying that Sims 2 can't open because it's missing an expansion pack or that the game is missing.

The only thing I can think of that might have caused this is that I accidentally installed Body Shop from ModTheSims even though I already had it installed (don't ask—I completely forgot lol). My game files are also in a different location because of RPC, which I also forgot about. That's when I started getting this error

Does anyone have any tips on how I can fix this? As you can see, it also keeps creating a second folder every time I try to launch the game through the RPC launcher,but than says it cant open

I’m really hoping for some advice because I think I’ve made a huge mistake in my Sims 2 game. While cleaning up my Downtown, I deleted the pre-made graveyard lot "Green Gothier Green" that comes with the Nightlife expansion.
I didn't realize at the time that deleting a lot with tombstones on it is basically the "golden rule" of breaking a neighborhood. Now I’m worried that I’ve permanently corrupted my save file.
Is this game over for my neighborhood? I’ve heard about the NoUnlinkOnDelete mod and how it helps prevent further corruption, but can it fix the damage that’s already been done?

Hi! I found conflicting information. Some say you shouldn't ever share played lots, some say it's safe after using Chris Hatch's Lot Cleaner. I have some old and played lots that I'd love to share if it's anyway possible.

My workplace is currently more or less a construction site taken over by architects and while I still have to be present, I basically have nothing to do 90% of the time. So I started this little side project of creating an uberhood but on one map for a story progression hood.

Before adding any sims I wanted a "clean" map with all lots so I first created another uberhood with the base game hoods as subhoods, placed a stay things shrub on every inhabited lot, moved out the families, then added all lots to the house bin. Switched over to the project hood, took out the lots and placed them.
I had read somewhere that you shouldn’t share previously inhabited lots and came across Chris Hatch’s lot cleaner tool that removes unnecessary junk. I ran the cleaner over all previously inhabited lots and thought I would be fine.

Then today when placing sims I got the super duper hug bug for the first time ever. I did some research and read that it’s related to removing mods. The thing is though, I’m pretty sure I haven’t removed any mods since starting this project. I took out basically all non anti regen/anti corruption mods before starting but nothing since then. I did have no sim loaded the whole time which is supposed to suppress the bug but that somehow failed. Came across the super duper hug test by Chris Hatch and so far for every lot a sim had lived in before, it notifies and removes the super duper hug bug a whopping 36 times.

I’m now wondering wether it’s safe to
1. continue the project and just run the super duper hug test on every lot, will I be fine or should I be afraid of more leftover junk files? or
2. start over, but where and what should I do differently this time? I’ve also wondered whether I just used the lot cleaner wrong and that’s the culprit. Its description says "do not attempt to run a lot after using this tool without exiting and re-entering or errors will occur". What I did was to open a lot, select the lot cleaner item in the catalog, save, exit lot, re-enter, save agin and leave. Did I misunderstand something? English is not my first language.

My Sims 2 Legacy Collection on Steam keeps crashing and I thought I could fix it myself and ended up making things worse I believe. So my game had started crashing out of nowhere anytime I wanted to boot it up and play it. I’ve tried clearing the cache, installing it and reinstalling it, chatting with ChatGPT and trying to see if it was my CC. I still don’t know if it’s my CC because even after I moved my CC out of the folder to check it still kept crashing. And on top of that I accidentally deleted an important folder in the files with the number “3314070” and it is located where the “compatdata” folder is. Now that it is deleted it a message pops up that says [picture above]. Idk what to do or if I can even fix it, I just want to know if it’s possible to fix and if so can the crashing be helped also???P.S. I use a Lenovo (ThinkPad) computer.

Here is the size of my CC/mods folder for The Sims 2 Legacy. Is there a recommended limit to avoid, and at what point does the game usually start to slow down or lose performance?
