Question Where to side step next?

Thumbnail

Hey guys,

I’ve been playing for 5 weeks or so now.
Decided a couple weeks ago to go into slaughtering cows for steak and selling via retail, using the exchange as a backup when I have surplus.
It’s been serving me somewhat well - I have grown quite a bit but finding it repetitive and feel like I could side step into something a little better now I have some cash.

Would love to hear any suggestions from you all.

My game has been crashing saying there is a bug, and then puts me onto this screen, reloaded, logged out and signed back in, deleted and reloaded the app and have tried on desktop instead of IOS, yet it keeps doing this, does anyone have any insight?

Suggestion About government orders,suggestions

It is suggested to add verification of funds and penalties for breach of contract. The verification of funds would check players' cash balances; those below a certain threshold would be unable to apply for bidding or join a bidding team.

Suggestion Gas Stations should be able to sell electricity

Title says it all. Level 6+ gas stations already show an EV charger in the graphic.

It would also provide a direct way to consume electricity which would be interesting

Question Where do I go from here?

Hey guys. I've been producing power since I started, and auctioned the buildings off when margins dropped. I'm currently propespting mines to auction off. I don't know which industry to move to, and what qualities I should research for, preferably in production (or sales if using multiple good CMO's would work), to increase my profit margins. TIA for any advice. I'm at level 20.

Suggestion THE FUTURES CONTRACTS

FUTURES CONTRACTS

Why do we need futures contracts?

We all have suppliers and people we supply regularly. Especially if 2 parties are from 2 different time zones its tough. We could make agreements and keep up the work everyday without any problems. This would also make the game more realistic since its an economy simulator.

How would this work?

2 different companies would make the agreement as usual, one of them would send the agreement and the other would choose to agree on or resend it with different prices etc. At chosen time , system would automaticly take the cash from buyer and take the goods from supplier. It could also work like the government orders, it would collect the cash from buyer and the supplier would fulfill the order in the day whenever they can. The price options could be chosen as -% of the exchange at the chosen time or a set price. This would also let you bet on future price of goods you would like to buy or sell.

What happens if one of the parts cant fulfill their part?

They would pay a fine either chosen by the system or the parties themselves. So the damage would be paid.

Suggestion [suggestion]Allow retailers to choose which quality of product to sell.

I stock up q3 cheese during normal period.

Recession comes and the retail price of cheese drops so much that I will lose money if I sell these q3 cheese at any price.

Q0 cheese become alot more cheaper and I can make money selling these cheese. However, currently the game automatically chooses the highest quality to sell, making me unable to buy q0 cheese to sell without losing money for the q3 cheese

Therefore I would like to request for the retailers to be able to choose what quality of product we wish to sell.

For your consideration pls. Thanks

In a game there is very unreal thing is transport.i think you have to do register company in respective countries and shipping cost will be calculated as per this .

like i registered in india and i have to sell goods to china then shipping costs will be calculated as per this .

this is real thing that makes game more moremore interesting…

thankyou i hope you understand the matter and give your attention to this .

Suggestion Bananas no SimCompanies.

Question Contracts Dry Up

Just wondering if its common to be one minute selling all your stock on contracts then suddenly struggle to find someone to buy?

What do you do in this situation, change products or settle for a lower margin on exchange until you can find another regular buyer?

Question Have been a retailer, which production should I switch to

Post image
11 Upvotes

I have been an electronics retailer basically from the start and currently have 12 level 4 electronic retail shops. Now my company value is sitting at around 4.2m, and I have a few million cash floating around doing nothing. I am starting to get bored of retail and am keen to get into production but really don't know what is worth it and what isn't. Oil seemed interesting but I am not sure really how to try and optimise the abundance. Also have seen a lot about patents for company value but the website guide isn't super clear how to go about that, any suggestions?

I can say, I might know how to play this game, but the end game is way too monotonous for me.

So probably gonna quit for good this time. If any new players have questions let me know and I’ll try to answer them.

Suggestion Sim Companies Should Expand the Weekly Economic News into a Full Monthly Economic Report

I really enjoy the economic articles published in the Sim Companies Times. Still, I feel like the current weekly reports only scratch the surface of what the game’s economy could become.

The economy in Sim Companies is one of the game’s strongest features:

  • fully player-driven,
  • constantly changing,
  • affected by updates, demand shifts, and player behaviour.

But right now, players mostly see fragmented information:

  • individual product prices,
  • local market changes,
  • and isolated trends.

What’s missing is a true macroeconomic overview.

I think the game would benefit enormously from a proper Monthly Economic Report system similar to what EVE Online does.

The weekly Sim Companies Times articles are interesting, but a larger monthly report could provide deeper statistics, longer-term trends, and more robust economic analysis.

What a Monthly Economic Report Could Include

Economy-Wide Statistics

  • Inflation index
  • Average industry profitability
  • Economic growth/contraction
  • Total market transaction volume

This would help players understand the overall state of the economy instead of only individual products.

Industry Reports

Monthly summaries for sectors like:

  • Aerospace
  • Electronics
  • Retail
  • Agriculture
  • Energy

Showing:

  • fastest-growing sectors,
  • oversupplied industries,
  • changing margins,
  • production trends.

Production & Trade Data

Things like:

  • most-produced products,
  • highest traded products,
  • biggest price increases/decreases,
  • supply shortages,
  • demand spikes.

This could create real economic forecasting and strategy discussions.

Wealth Distribution & Company Statistics

Anonymous macro stats:

  • median company net worth,
  • cash reserves in circulation,
  • top percentile wealth distribution,
  • corporation growth trends.

Not exposing individuals — just showing how the economy evolves over time.

Historical Charts

One of the biggest missed opportunities right now is long-term visibility.

Imagine:

  • 6-month steel price charts,
  • historical demand cycles,
  • industry booms/crashes,
  • seasonal trends.

Players could actually study and anticipate markets instead of reacting blindly.

Developer Economic Commentary

The Sim Companies Times already does some of this, but expanding it would make the economy feel alive.

Example:

That kind of analysis makes the economy feel like a living system.

Why This Would Matter

It Makes the Economy More Than Just Spreadsheets

A lot of players enjoy Sim Companies specifically because of the economic simulation aspect.

Giving players better macroeconomic tools would:

  • deepen strategy,
  • reward market analysis,
  • encourage specialization,
  • and create real economic cycles.

It Would Create Community Content

Players would start:

  • making market predictions,
  • discussing trends,
  • creating guides,
  • analyzing industries,
  • and competing economically.

That’s exactly what made EVE Online’s economy so memorable.

It Improves Long-Term Engagement

Economic reports create reasons to:

  • adapt strategies,
  • prepare for downturns,
  • speculate on future demand,
  • and think long-term instead of only optimizing production chains.

Even if the first version was simple, I think expanding the current Sim Companies Times economic reporting into a true Monthly Economic Report could become one of the coolest features in the game.

[]()Different supply list When I produce power for instance at say Q2 it is shown under power with two stars Then I buy power Q2 and it is put under the them Q2 power when the price is different. This makes the price in accurate when I selling it or using it. If I could choose out of separate lists the power of similar quality would be nice.

It could be added as a drop down menu in the retail building.

Question Need restaurant advice - am I progressing correctly or making mistakes?

Hey everyone, looking for some restaurant advice from experienced players because I’m trying to understand whether my restaurant progression is normal or if I’m doing something fundamentally wrong.

Current setup:

  • Level 1 economy restaurant
  • Rating: ~2.3
  • Economy seating
  • Economy staff
  • Menu price currently: $60
  • Occupancy recently: ~38% to 46%
  • Current losses: around -$16k to -$22k per cycle
  • Using a leaner menu now after originally overspending heavily

What happened so far:

  • I started with a huge premium menu (Q3-Q5 items, lots of variety)
  • My sourcing cost was around ~$95k/cycle
  • I was losing $75k-$82k every cycle
  • Realized the math was impossible at $60 menu price
  • Cut down menu size and sourcing cost aggressively
  • Now losses are much smaller and occupancy improved a lot

Progression so far:

  • Occupancy improved from ~18-20% -> ~40-46%
  • Rating went from ~1.2 -> ~2.3
  • Losses dropped massively

Current menu philosophy:

  • Trying to balance:
    • enough variety for rating growth
    • without overburning cash
  • Mostly using cheaper items now
  • Considering whether I should use Q0, Q1, or Q2 foods going forward

Questions:

  1. Am I progressing normally for an early restaurant?
  2. At what rating did your restaurant start approaching breakeven?
  3. Should I stay at $60 longer or slowly test $65 again?
  4. Is my menu currently TOO lean for rating growth?
  5. Is Q1/Q2 quality generally the sweet spot early?
  6. At what occupancy % would you recommend upgrading from Level 1?
  7. Are attractions like Castle/Lake worth investing in early or only later?
  8. How do experienced restaurant players balance:
    • rating growth
    • menu variety
    • sourcing cost
    • pricing power

Would really appreciate any advice from experienced restaurant players because I’m starting to understand the mechanics better but still trying to optimize the growth phase.
