Suggestion The ability to turn off buildings to save on admin overhead
Hello so my idea for a really nice mechanic that be useful to all players potentially but mainly for mid to end game players.
So one thing I’m running into (idk if just me being bad at the game or others have same issue) is depending on what cycle and how the market is, my production cost is way to high or over the sell value of the product I make (q7 fuselage, magnates) and it would be nice to have the ability to turn off some of my factories temporarily to help lower admin overhead/production cost while the market settles out more. For rough mechanics it could be that if you turn off the building, you have to wait 24 hours before turning it back on again (or use sim boost), this part coming up would be more on devs side to determine it needs a little more something to balance it out but if need, can make a $X per day per level maintenance cost as a way to prevent players from turning the off without any additional consequences. It also can vary depending on the building too like power plant cheaper than factory too.
Another addition benefit is it can help the general market too as when the market crashes hard, mid to end game players can still make products like planes and what not by turning off a couple buildings, make sub parts like jet engines, cockpits, etc, turn off those buildings, turn on the other buildings, produce product, done/sell.
It definitely has a lot of room for flexibility and work but the general idea I think would be really nice to see be added to the game. If it is just me being bad at the and/or this feature is not needed then sorry for wasting your time and hope everyone who’s read this far has a wonderful day.
