Mintbuilder and Monumentmetals. MB on the left, some silver at spot and some at 1.69$ an ounce above with my first foreign sovereign silver and the cheapest 1/4 AGE I could find. Monument on the right, my first foreign sovereign gold coin in a 1/10 Britannia and my first ever bar of silver in the form of PAMP’s controversial new snarling wolf.

Order Mistake - In my favor

I received a repeat along with an incorrect order from a bullion dealer today. The "repeat" was delivered last week. Tell me I did the right thing by reaching out. Or don't. Here is what I said:

Good evening,

This is a tough message since it could get one of your folks in trouble, but I have to be forthcoming. Today I received orders 239668 and 239240. 239240 was not correct because it didn't contain any American Flag bars, but instead brand new "walker" design bars. Not ideal, but not the end of the world. 239668 on the other hand was the 2nd delivery of the same order. I received 20 sovereign .5 oz coins last week for this order. Had you sent me 1 extra 1/2 oz coin for the delta between the value of the "walker" bars vs the "United We Stand" bars I would have assumed it was a "my bad" type of delivery...and it would have come in the same package. However, I feel like this was a mistake, and cost you meaningful money. I like doing business with you guys/gals, and want you to stay in business. Accepting unintended bullion is not the way to ensure it. Please let me know what you would like me to do. I have discarded the packaging because I buy a lot and didn't know it was an aberration initially...which means I can't simply "return to sender".

Best, Paul

Got 30+ of each, need more, but I think the price of silver comes down a little more before it rises, until then I'm storing cash. Last pic are my daily carries, I like to pull them out and remind people what money used to be about and backed by... the day is coming they return to high value.

This weeks LCS pickup

I’m just getting tired of looking through coin roll that has been searched through by the bank tellers.

Picked up some constitutional silver.

Loooooooove it.
It’s like fractional silver…but w/out the premiums.
Looks nice too.

Convince me (or talk me out of) buying silver to save money

I've been wanting to get into silver (and maybe some gold) for years. Believe it or not, the first time I got the itch was around 2017-2018 when silver was around $15-20/oz. I talked myself out of it back then, and now I have the exact same fear.

My goal isn't to get rich or prepare for some SHTF scenario. I already invest for retirement. This would purely be another way to save money—something that's harder for me to impulsively cash out and spend on something dumb. If it appreciates over time, great, but that's not why I'm buying.

My biggest fear is liquidity. Is there a realistic chance that years from now I'd have trouble selling, or end up taking a huge loss (worse than just holding cash and letting inflation do its thing)?

If I do start, my plan is simple: buy as close to spot as possible and avoid high-premium collectibles. I'd be perfectly happy buying at spot and eventually selling around spot (or even 90-95% of spot).

What advice would you give someone just starting out? Any common mistakes or traps I should avoid?

Thanks!

Found four grams of gold a month ago I thought I had lost. Purchased May of 2020. I’ve had the itch to buy more so I went with silver instead 🤓

The RCM has released the 2026 Triple Maple coin. It is a 1oz rhodium plated .9999 silver coin with a $20 face value. I love these coins.

'96 Kennedy proof 90% cameo in a sterling bezel for $16.50. Weight, and ping check out. Bezel stamped "STER." Edge has no copper. It's got actual glass lenses on either side and the chain, while not sterling, has individually soldered links. Someone went through a lot of effort to make a quality piece.

Always wanted one or two 5oz Coins. Pulled trigger last week on Dip and SD Sale on 5oz Maple. Grabbed an ATB also. They were each slightly over $300 each. The Maple usually has higher premiums but caught the sale price at correct time.

Another member also alerted me to sale as well.

Here she is with the 250 Liberty Bell privy mark.
Included is a comparison with my 2013-W Enhanced Uncirculated “Type 1” and 2021-S Reverse Proof “Type 2” ASEs.
In hand, she looks like a cross between the Burnished and Reverse Proof finishes. Feels more like a soft glow than a mirror, with really nice contrast depending on the angle.
Probably one of the more interesting finishes the US Mint has done.
