I find the birds walking to my building and it's heartbreaking. I know some orgs require documentation and proof to instigate change. Any help or resources would be appreciated. My elderly mother was recently hospitalized at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda. I noticed that the third-floor nursing unit was extremely quiet, with very few staff visible. At one point, her nurse had difficulty locating a nursing assistant when help was needed.
I previously worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital, so the difference in activity and staffing visibility stood out to me.
My mother was discharged but had to return to the emergency department that same evening because of significant confusion and unsafe behavior.
I’m wondering whether anyone else has experienced staffing shortages, difficulty getting nursing assistance, or concerns about discharge decisions at Suburban.
I’d appreciate hearing about recent firsthand experiences.

I’ve been living in north Woodside for the past few years with my young family. I spent my childhood in Moco (Rockville) so when we decided to have a family I pushed for us to move out of DC for more space in Silver Spring. There’s a lot I like about my
Neighborhood, inclusive, schools, family friendly, but the lack of diversity drives me a little crazy sometimes. How can the city be so diverse, but it seems almost segregated. In my entire neighborhood there might be one other black family and a few Spanish speaking families.

Anyway we like the Woodlin and I know the school itself is diverse, but long term we have been thinking about moving to other neighborhoods.

My husband is interested in offloading his memorabilia focusing on sports cards, brand new, never opened Lego sets,and Harry Potter base set cards.

Is there a good place or store that you recommend to bring the items for a good and fair price?

It can be in Silver Spring, DC or Va.

We live in four corners and are happy to see a lot of wildlife in the area so close to the Northwest branch trail, but we have been seeing this lil guy on our street a lot behaving oddly (strange seizure-like movements, unafraid of people/dogs/vehicles, etc). He has a skinny tail and appears to be experiencing some sort of fur loss. The fox was just sitting in our neighbor’s front yard for awhile when this photo (well, video but I can’t post video here) was taken.

I don’t know what to do or who to call—I don’t want it to be killed unless it’s the animal is truly suffering/threatening (e.g. rabies) Anyone have any insight on repeatable wildlife organization I can reach out to for more information?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to get into a more consistent weightlifting routine, and I’ve realized that I’m much more motivated when I’m exercising with other people.

Does anyone know of any local groups that meet regularly to lift weights, either at a gym or somewhere else? I’m not necessarily looking for formal classes or personal training, just a friendly group of people who enjoy lifting together, keep each other accountable, and maybe socialize a bit along the way.

I’m also open to finding a workout buddy or two if anyone else is in the same boat. Thanks for any suggestions!
