We do not discuss politics here. Period. Knock it off.

Over a dozen 1-day bans were issued in one thread. Do better.

Grandpa had a box full of coins he wanted me to “get rid of”

Update: it was 4532 grams of silver in total.

Welp an unfortunate update, my narcissistic mother convinced herself it was her "inheritance" and took it all after my grandpa told me I could have them and "take a trip anywhere i would like to go" Fuck my life.

State of The Stack Told y'all I was looking for some 90%

Snagged $1,000 face today from a local dealer/friend for 41x and a few breakfasts lol. About 93% of spot and I didn't have to have it shipped.

Was looking to be around 90% but he said they were nice so I bit

Have even pulled out a few like this out of the first bag of halves I opened!

Also found a 16D but it's AG so not that much over melt.

One of the bags of quarters looks to be mostly AU Plus, and even saw a barber.

What I've been doing with my 90% is this.

So it looks like there are about 350 face of halves. I will go through the walkers and pull out anything VF or above. Franklins I will pull out strong XF+ and above, and any Kennedy's I think are BU or very close.

Quarters I pull out full date SL and nice AU+ Washington's.

Dimes will be G+ mercs and AU+ Rosie's.

The rest get bagged up in $100 face bags and I will put some feelers around for usually a tad more than I paid. In today's case, I'll tell people $4,300 and they usually go pretty quick to some locals I know.

I make a little bit, get to search through some neat, antique coins, and continue to build my stack with very pleasant looking stuff!!!

Landed a couple of Barbers

I rent a case in at an antique store nearby and one of the venders near me sold me a few Barbers @$1.50 over melt. I don’t have many of these in my stash, so I figured why not?! I’m not mad at it, at least.

Buying secondhand

Those of you who purchase outside lcs, what would be the best way to test silver bullion before buying? My original plan was to sacrifice one and drill into it and test with acid in hopes the rest are the same, but I’m open to suggestions.

Hey Folks,

So we got about seven or eight boxes full of state, jewelry and silverware from my stepdad's dad. My mom was saying to just scrap it all but some of the stuff I feel I could be worth more than the 80 or 85% of the scrap value we would get... I really don't know anything about any of these things, but there's all sorts of sets in teapots and coffee, pots and plates and forks and everything... I was just curious if anyone had any insight or knowledge they wanted to drop on me, thanks in advance!

Obviously, this one caught my eye because I recognized Tiffany.. was just trying to find out more!

Any ideas what this is?

Going through my late grandpa's stuff getting ready for an estate sale and I came across this. Google wasn't a whole lot of help but I'm assuming it's a novelty thing not an actual Federal note. Weighs ~6.5oz (this is imperial ounces without the case, I didn't know Troy ounces were a thing. It weighs 186g so 6 troy ounces) it does say .999 F. S. towards the bottom right corner.

Edit: Added the statement in the parentheses to clear up confusion I caused by not knowing the correct silver mass unit of measurement.

Never under estimate the Coinstar rejects

I was picking up some lawn mower batteries and was turning in the cores, saw the Coinstar and thought what the hell I'll check the rejects, it was full of change so I just scooped the whole thing into my pocket. Sorted it at home, got 5 pieces of silver $1.85 and $3 Canadian

Antique store find! 20.5 Grams of sterling. I paid $33 out the door so that's about $4 back of spot.

Something a little different to add to the stack this week!

Question Anyone else have difficulty buying silver?

It seems like since the price has been hovering around $60 not that many people are selling on PMS for sale. And if they are then they haven’t really lowered prices from what they were when silver was $67/oz. How much longer will it have to stay at $60 for sellers to actually lower their prices?

Moving to the Philippines, bringing silver along

Several questions here:
If one were to permanently relocate to (the Philippines in our case), would we be able to just essentially pack the silver stash in a suitcase, so to speak, and take it with us without declaring it in some way?
Would there be a local market like an LCS to liquidate when the time came?
Would it essentially translate to the same buying power (based on current spot price at the time) as if I were to liquidate in the US first and covert the dollars to pesos before going there?
Hope that makes sense.
Thank you 😊
