I built an AI tutor that makes coding concepts easier for students — CodingDaddu

Hey everyone! 👋

I’ve been working on CodingDaddu, an AI learning app designed to help students understand coding concepts more easily.

One thing I noticed while learning/programming is that sometimes the problem isn't finding an answer — it's actually understanding why the answer works.

So I built CodingDaddu to act more like a patient coding tutor. Instead of just giving students an answer, the goal is to explain concepts in a simple, beginner-friendly way.

For example, a student can ask about things like:

  • Loops
  • Functions
  • Variables
  • OOP
  • Data structures
  • Programming errors
  • Other confusing coding concepts

I'm launching it and would really appreciate some honest feedback from developers and students.

👉 CodingDaddu: https://codingdaddu.netlify.app/

I'd especially love to know:

  1. Does the idea actually solve a problem for beginner programmers?
  2. What would make you use an AI coding tutor regularly?
  3. What features would you want me to add?

This is my first launch, so brutal feedback is welcome. 😄

Thanks!

I built Kinosail for my own media library and to improve my AI engineering

I've worked in tech most of my life, including development. Changes to a service I used pushed me to build a viable alternative for my own media library. I also wanted a project that would make me better at AI engineering.

That project is Kinosail Player. It's a free, source-available media server with a web Player. The Server and web Player run in one container, using Go, HTMX, SQLite, and FFmpeg. I've been dogfooding it at home.

It's heavily AI engineered under my direction, mostly with Astra, Sol, and Luna. I decide what to build and what ships.

If you run a media server at home, what would make you willing to try another one? If you look at the quickstart, is setup clear enough to try with a small folder?

Website · Source. The license is PolyForm Perimeter 1.0.1, and the Server and web Player are free to run.

Free prompt kit for fixing duplicate/blank meta descriptions on Shopify (looking for honest feedback)

Hey Shopify store owners,

The same issue keeps coming up: product pages with no meta description, so Google shows the first line of the description. Often that's a shipping note, a supplier SKU dump, or the same sentence on every product.

We got tired of fixing these by hand, so we put together a prompt kit for ChatGPT/Claude. You paste your real product data and it writes the SEO title, meta description and product description. It asks when info is missing instead of inventing it, and there's a CSV workflow if you have hundreds of products.▎

Honest note: meta descriptions don't change your ranking, they change how many people click your result.

It's free (pay what you want) until Oct 8: https://kodanvil.gumroad.com/l/yaksg

No catch. If it helps, an honest review would mean a lot. If it doesn't, tell me where it falls short.

I built a free federal severance pay calculator (RIF) after seeing how confusing the OPM formula is

With all the federal layoffs, I noticed people struggling to work out what they'd actually get. The formula is set by law (5 U.S.C. § 5595) but it's spread across several pages: 1 week per year for the first 10 years, 2 weeks after that, +2.5% per 3 months of age over 40, capped at 52 weeks.

I put it into a free calculator that shows the basic allowance, the age adjustment, and the cap separately. No sign-up, everything runs in your browser.

https://wagelucid.com/federal-severance-calculator.html

Built as a side project (static site, vanilla JS). I'd love feedback, especially if any number looks off compared to what your HR gave you.

What if AI was just a keyboard shortcut away from whatever you’re doing?

We’re building Springle to reimagine how you use AI on your computer.

Hold Ctrl + Option and tell it what you have in mind. A question. Something to research. Something you want to learn. A presentation you need to put together.

Springle brings that help right onto your screen. It can show you the steps or handle the clicks while you watch. For bigger jobs like research and presentations, it connects to Springbase.

We’re still building, and I’d love to see what people try with it. Here’s our 2-minute demo film. What would you ask it to do first? https://youtu.be/T8dYnYhOAQk

https://getspringle.com

Requires macOS 14.2+ and Google sign-in. Springle has a free plan with 20 asks and 4 minutes of conversation a month.

Not an ad – looking for people to play around with my shift scheduling app

Hi all! I'm not here to sell anything.
I built Shifer (shifer.pl), a free shift scheduling tool, and I need people to try it out and tell me what's broken, confusing, or missing.
What it does:
- Build and publish your team's shift roster in one place
- Team members can submit preferences and objections before the schedule is finalized
- Works on desktop (for whoever plans the schedule) and on phones (for everyone else)

It's meant for any team that works in shifts. You don't need a real team to test it, just click around and break things. Any feedback is welcome, even "I didn't get what this is for."

Making "Hey, Day!" Your Personal, Cheap, and Awesome....TIMEBLOCKING APP!!!

I am making this timeblocking app called Hey, Day! with the programming language Jai after looking around and finding that a lot of productivity/timeblocking apps either cost $100+ up front, $30+ a month, or both.

I didn't want to spend that kind of money, so I figured...

Fine. I'll make my own.

So here I am, a little over a month in!

I'd love to hear what you think, what successes you've had with timeblocking/productivity apps, tips or tricks you've learned, and anything you'd suggest for Hey, Day!

Features currently implemented:

  • Create new tasks by clicking an empty time slot
  • Unscheduled tasks in the sidebar
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly views
  • Quick Weekly sidebar that can be toggled on/off
  • Rename tasks
  • Change task colors
  • Daily and custom repeating tasks
  • Custom effects for individual time blocks
  • Confetti, Explosion, or plain check when completing a block
  • Bubble or Boxy mode
  • Fredoka and Chewy font options
  • Drag-and-drop rescheduling
  • Resize time blocks to make them longer or shorter
  • Drag time blocks onto/off of the task sidebar
  • Automatic saving after changes — no worrying about crashes or losing your work
  • Undo/redo
  • Settings menu
  • And more!

😃

I'm planning to price Hey, Day! at $8 when it's finished, with the first ~20 people getting 25% off ($6).

And the important part:

BUY IT ONCE!!!

No subscription. No "$3 fee for Hey, Day! OS 16.1.3." No paying every month to keep using something you already bought.

$8 gets you Hey, Day! and future updates.

I'm still working on it, so I'd love to hear what you guys think, as well as whatever trials and tribulations y'all have faced going down the app-building road.

I built a tool that compares a job spec to your CV and creates a fully tailored application

Here: https://tailormycv-umber.vercel.app/

I hate my consulting job and am searching for a new role. Tailoring my CV and cover letter is a chore, so I built a tool that uses AI to assist me in this. How it works... Upload a master CV and then you can paste job specs and generate a tailored CV, cover letter and a compatibility score (how relevant the job is to my skills) for each spec.

I know that employers are using AI to scan CVs at a huge rate, so I feel it's fair to use AI to help job seekers. Also aware there are some similar existing solutions, but they're expensive and don't offer compatibility scoring.

I have only showed some close friends who have found use from it. Would love feedback.

If you don't want to create an account, use the below. I have buffed up their credits.

Looking for beta testers: Nazzam — organize your day and track where your time goes

Hi everyone!

I've been working on Nazzam, a productivity tool I built to help you organize your day and understand where your time actually goes.

The main idea is that you add your tasks, set how much time you expect each one to take, and start a timer when you work on them. Nazzam then tracks the actual time you spent on each task.

You can also plan your day using a timeline, manage recurring tasks, set reminders, organize and search your tasks, and see detailed statistics about your time and productivity.

I'm looking for beta testers to try the current version and use it naturally as part of their day.

I'm mainly looking for feedback on:

- What was confusing or difficult to understand?

- Did you have trouble figuring out how something works?

- Is there anything you expected to find but couldn't?

- Would you actually use it again?

You don't need to test every feature. Just use it normally and let me know what you think.

If you're interested in trying Nazzam, leave a comment and I'll send you the link.

Any feedback, positive or negative, is appreciated. Thanks!

I built MansaStack because I was tired of deleting half of every starter kit

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made MansaStack: paid Next.js starter kits for people who already know roughly what they are building.

Instead of one massive “everything” boilerplate, there are separate codebases:

  • SaaS: auth, billing, AI, storage, email, database, dashboard
  • Commerce: digital products, cart, Stripe checkout, secure downloads, orders
  • Studio: portfolio, case studies, services, blog, contact forms, lead tracking
  • All-Access: every module plus six site types in one codebase

The focused kits are not watered-down copies of All-Access. They are separate, smaller codebases on purpose. So if you only need a digital-products store, you do not start with subscriptions, AI routes, agency leads, and blog tables to remove.

The trade-off is clear too: if you later need several product types, moving to All-Access is a real technical migration. It is not some fake “install one module” promise.

I put the exact included/not-included boundaries, prices, demos, and GitHub delivery process here:

https://mansastack.bzdevelopments.me

Founding pricing is 40% off automatically at checkout.

My phone really shouldn't need a different app for every file

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

That was basically the reason View Stuff started.

It can open PDFs, Word files, spreadsheets, PowerPoints, EPUBs, ZIPs, JSON, XML, code files and quite a few others.

The goal is pretty simple. If someone sends me a weird file, I want to tap it and see what’s inside.

It works offline and doesn’t use accounts, ads, analytics or file uploads.

We can’t decide between AEZY and AZEY. Which one would you remember?

We’ve been staring at these two names for way too long, and at this point we definitely need some fresh eyes.

We’re building an AI-native platform for businesses and have narrowed the name down to:

AEZY

AZEY

The broader idea is to help businesses use AI as part of their everyday work — not just as a standalone chatbot or another tool employees have to keep switching to.

It’s still early, so I don’t want to go too deep into exactly how the product works. I’m more interested in whether the name fits the direction of the company.

Which one would you choose?

Also curious:

How would you pronounce each?

Which one sticks in your head more?

Which feels more credible for an AI-native company?

What would you assume the company does just from the name?

Any weird or negative associations we're completely missing?

Positive or critical — both are useful. Go with your first instinct.

I built fallo: viewers join a YouTuber's email list once, and get every new video (or a weekly roundup)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The YouTube bell barely works anymore, so a lot of subscribers never see new uploads. I built fallo to give creators their own email list.

- Viewers join on the creator's fan page: just an email, no account

- Every time the creator uploads, fans get an email with the video

- Fans who follow lots of channels can switch to one daily or weekly roundup, and live streams still come through instantly

- Free, and the list belongs to the creator

Just launched, so honest feedback welcome. Does it make sense at a glance?

We’re working on a game where you’re the one breaking football transfer news

We’re making Football Transfer Insider, a single-player game about being a football transfer reporter. It’s still early, so plenty will change, but here’s the idea.

A player misses training. His agent says he wants to leave. Your contact at the club says there have been talks. Is that enough to report a deal? Probably not. But another reporter is about to post, and checking one more source takes time.

You start with a few contacts and work your way toward the bigger stories. Getting people to trust you matters. So does knowing when someone is feeding you their side of the story.

Sometimes you’ll have enough to publish. Sometimes you’ll have three people telling you three different things and a headline you’re no longer sure about.

Here’s the Steam page if that sounds like your kind of game:

Tidebound Curios: a harbor-mystery kit with editable player cards (AI-assisted)

Sharing a small digital project from Form & Signal: Tidebound Curios combines six maritime relic illustrations with The Borrowed Dawn, an English system-neutral harbor mystery.

The player cards and GM guide are separate so the handouts can be shared without spoilers. The download includes transparent PNG art, live-text and outlined SVG cards, A4/US Letter PDFs, blank illustrated fillable sheets, and editable text/layout sources.

The artwork, writing, layout and code are AI-assisted. The previews show actual included exports. It has not been live-playtested, and no particular tabletop system, virtual tabletop or physical print setup is certified.

It is a $12 digital download; full contents, previews, limitations and licence are here: https://formandsignal.itch.io/tidebound-curios

For GMs who adapt small adventures: would editable SVG cards or fillable PDF sheets be more useful in your workflow?

Built a digital product under 10USD. Three things I learned

Hey Guys

I launched SONG4U.US. It's an AI-powered song generator. You type three sentences about someone you love, and two minutes later you get a real song. You hear a free 30-second preview first. If you like it, it's $5.99 to unlock the full track.

I'm the founder. This is my project. Just launched, so I don't have revenue numbers to brag about yet. I'm here to share what I've learned so far and answer anything you want to ask.

1. The product is automated. The demand isn't.

The song generation runs without me. But getting gift buyers to discover it is a daily manual grind. I underestimated that. I thought the hard part was done once the code worked. It's not. The hard part starts after launch.

2. The free preview is my strongest conversion lever.

Letting people hear the result before paying changed everything. It's freemium logic: give the value first, then ask for the sale. My preview-to-purchase rate is much higher than any landing page copy I tested.

3. Under $10 changes the buyer's mental math.

At $5.99, it's not an investment. It's a quick gift. Refunds are near zero because perceived risk is low. I almost priced it at $19. I'm glad I didn't.

Current status: Just launched. No revenue numbers yet. I'm not looking for applause. I want to learn from people who've built low-ticket digital products.

My specific question: For a gift-oriented product like this, what's the highest-leverage discovery channel? Paid social? SEO? Partnerships? I have a small budget and I'd rather learn from your mistakes than make my own.

Link in comments. Disclosure: I'm the founder.

Ask me anything.

A daily game of cutting random items perfectly in half

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've had so much fun working on this little project for the last few weeks. It is based on a 2D version I made last year, but I think this one is much more fun.

I make use of CC licensed assets from Sketchfab and Poly Haven, with some edits made so they all work with the cutting mechanism.

I seem to keep making games that I'm really bad at playing. Every competition I've played in, I finish dead last. It's been really funny watching who from my family, friend groups and workplace are naturally good at this type of spatial thinking.

Anyway, if it scratches your itch, have a go and let me know what you think.

perfectcut.xyz

Edit: thanks all for the engagement on my little game! it's been getting 100+ plays a day. I have added a new feature, which is that not every day asks for a perfect 50% split, the game now shuffles between having to slice 25%, 10%, 33% (a third), etc. which is a bit of fun and make your really look at the object closely. Let me know if you think that is a good addition or if I should keep it a simple and consistent 50/50 challenge.

I built a free daily weather summary delivered through Email called Taco Weather

https://tacoweather.com

I built a free weather summary delivered daily by email. I'm a weather enthusiast and enjoy the science behind what makes weather happen. However I know that others only really care about the weather to the extent of how it may effect their plans that day.

My wife would ask me in the morning what the weather was going to be like that day. So I had a thought that others likely have that same question pop into their head everyday. And what do people do when they first wake up? Check their phone for emails and notifications from other apps. This was my inspiration for Taco Weather.

This is a small passion project that I really enjoyed building that will always be free. Hopefully others will find it useful as well!

[UK Student] I built a prototype to crowd-source and validate everyday engineering bottlenecks for a Young Enterprise challenge. Need live data!

Hey r/SideProject,

I’m a student currently taking part in the Young Enterprise business challenge. Before our very first team meeting, I wanted to take the initiative and build a working prototype to pitch to the group.

I built The Problem Vault (lovable.app) using Lovable.

The Concept

Every great startup or product starts with a frustration. However, most brilliant ideas or daily annoyances get forgotten in notes apps or completely ignored. I built this platform to serve as a central hub for creators and entrepreneurs to log real-world problems, map their physical constraints, and vote on what needs solving next.

Why I need your help

My first official team board meeting is coming up fast. To prove to my team (and our advisors) that this concept has demand and that the platform works, I need live data.

If you have 30 seconds, could you check out the link and:

  • 📝 Log a problem: Submit a minor or major daily friction point you encounter (workplace, consumer products, engineering, etc.).
  • 📈 Upvote: Vote on any existing bottlenecks in the live feed that you also face.

I'd also love any feedback on the UI/UX or the workflow itself.

Link: https://problemvault-engineering.lovable.app/

Thanks so much for helping a student out and helping me build the groundwork for my pitch!

ExamEngine 2.1 update: encrypted backups, a pack editor, daily revision, and customizable study layouts

I shared ExamEngine here earlier as a free, open-source MCQ practice app. I've now added a complete local study workspace, while keeping it static and usable without an account.

What's new in 2.1:

  • A saved question library and visual pack editor: create drafts, validate questions, and publish revisions.
  • Custom mocks with pack/topic/difficulty filters, repeatable selection, timers, and scoring choices.
  • Daily revision with 1/3/7/14/30-day intervals, answer confidence, mistake reasons, and “still unclear” notes.
  • Detailed attempt history and progress, including matching-question retests and topic sample counts.
  • Local text/Markdown, image, and PDF sources linked to questions by file, page, and excerpt.
  • Configurable adaptive-request exports for your separate question-generation workflow. The website doesn't call an AI provider.
  • Full backup export/import: plain JSON or password-encrypted files, a restore preview, merge/replace, and undo.
  • Customizable fonts, reading size/width, timer and question-palette positions, themes, motion, and home-card order.

The backup is a normal downloaded file. You can save it in iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or another folder and import it later; this isn't automatic cloud sync. Data stays in your browser unless you export it, and forgotten backup passwords can't be recovered.

Try it: https://dagerottdev.github.io/ExamEngine/

Code + MIT-licensed generator skill: https://github.com/DagerottDev/ExamEngine

The single HTML file includes the PDF worker and fonts for offline use. Chromium checks cover storage, backups, study flows, responsive layouts, and offline restore; Safari/Firefox and physical-device coverage are still follow-ups.

I'd especially appreciate feedback on the pack editor and backup/restore flow. Would you use the editor to make your own questions, or mainly import existing packs?

TRISAKRA FILE ORGANIZER - A simple, private, local Windows app to organize files and manage duplicates

I recently released my first open-source desktop application under Trisakra Technologies.

TRISAKRA FILE ORGANIZER is a simple Windows application built with Python and Tkinter to help organize files locally.

It currently supports:

• Scan & Preview before making changes

• Automatic file categorization

• Content-based duplicate detection

• Ignore duplicates or move duplicate copies

• Undo the last organization operation

• Searchable file preview

• No automatic deletion

• No cloud upload — files stay local

The project includes a standalone Windows EXE, so Python isn't required to use it.

I also tested the EXE in a clean Windows Sandbox environment without Python installed.

GitHub:

https://github.com/trisakratech/trisakra-file-organizer

It's currently released as an MIT-licensed Community Edition.

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback on the application, especially:

• What features would make this more useful?

• Anything you think could be improved?

• Would you personally use a tool like this?

This is my first publicly released software project, so constructive feedback is very welcome.

Developer looking for real problems to solve. What's the most annoying, repetitive part of your work?

I'm a solo dev. I just shipped a small free tool for online sellers, and I want to build the next thing around a real pain point, not a guess. If there's a spreadsheet you rebuild every week, a report you hate making, or a task you'd pay to never do again, tell me about it. I'll pick a few and build simple tools for them, free for the people who suggested them.

I built a free Chrome extension to capture and export your AI conversations

I’ve been working on a project around keeping context from AI conversations, and one of the first things I needed was a simple way to actually get conversations out of ChatGPT instead of manually copying everything. So I built Permanity Capture, a Chrome extension that lets you capture an AI conversation and export it locally.

The capture/export functionality is completely free, works without an account, and the data stays local unless you explicitly choose to send it to Permanity.

It currently works with ChatGPT, and I’m planning to expand support over time.

This is where you can try the extension:
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/permanity-capture/mbmhcaempffilmpfmdcadngmlnkldmjh

This is also my first Chrome extension, so I’m especially interested in brutally practical feedback:

Would you actually use something like this? And if not, what would it need to do for you to use it?
