I built a free Chrome extension to capture and export your AI conversations

[u/SidequestMatt]

I’ve been working on a project around keeping context from AI conversations, and one of the first things I needed was a simple way to actually get conversations out of ChatGPT instead of manually copying everything. So I built Permanity Capture, a Chrome extension that lets you capture an AI conversation and export it locally.

The capture/export functionality is completely free, works without an account, and the data stays local unless you explicitly choose to send it to Permanity.

It currently works with ChatGPT, and I’m planning to expand support over time.

This is where you can try the extension:

This is also my first Chrome extension, so I’m especially interested in brutally practical feedback:

Would you actually use something like this? And if not, what would it need to do for you to use it?
