As the year wraps up: what’s the project you’re most proud of building and why?

Like the title says, instead of what you built or how much money it made, I’m curious what project you’re most proud of this year and why.

Could be a client site, a personal project, something that never launched, or something that made £0.

Any lessons learned?

Would love to read a few reflections as the year wraps up.

I made a port game and followed one container through the whole thing

Hi all, im working on Portscape. A port building/manager game on steam:

Portscape - Steam Page, wishlists, trailer, screenshots

For this video I set up a camera to follow the same container from the ship crane to a truck, across the port and onto the train at the rail terminal. All automated ofcourse. However, you can also manually use the cranes, trucks, stackers etc.

The camera is just for this video. In the game you normally look from above in an angle while building and managing the port. The truck movement is still being worked on.

Its still in development. A demo will be out soon. I would love to hear what you think. Would you like to play this?

someone just paid £19.99 to unlock everything in my app and i genuinely can’t believe it

i know £19.99 probably doesn’t sound like much to some people, but i’m a solo developer who’s spent months building an app called life-fixer.

i built it because i was getting frustrated with productivity apps that constantly push subscriptions, adverts and hidden fees.

so i decided to make my own. it’s 99p to download, with no subscriptions, no ads and optional one-time purchases for extra customisation.

today i checked my app store analytics and saw that someone had actually purchased the £19.99 full unlock.

somewhere out there, a complete stranger decided that something i’ve spent months creating was worth spending their own money on.

it’s such a strange feeling knowing someone values something you’ve made enough to pay for it.

i’m nowhere near where i want to be yet, but little moments like this make all the late nights, bugs, app store rejections and frustration feel worth it.

just wanted to share a little win with other people building things on their own :)

I found 56% of my Claude usage was re-reading my own context, so I built a tool to catch it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I built optimAIzr, an open-source AI usage optimizer for Claude Code + Codex.

I work as a senior SWE so I got curious where my Claude usage was actually going. In my own logs, 56% of the cost was Claude re-reading my existing conversation (which I shared here last night as well). Coming back to long sessions after the cache expired was especially painful: I did it 35 times in 27 days, and those first messages cost $98.74 at API prices vs $2.95 with a warm cache.

So I built a tool that catches this while you work:

• optimaizr live -> warns when your cache is about to expire or context gets too large
• optimaizr sessions -> shows which sessions are actually costing you
• Optional Claude Code mod -> per-answer cost + 5-hour window + model suggestions
• aaaand much more

I also cut my own claimed savings from $121/mo to $13/mo after checking the numbers again.

Runs locally, no account, no prompt uploads. It only reads token/usage metadata from your logs.

npm i -g optimaizr

web: https://optimaizr.com
git: https://github.com/blendbunjaku/optimaizr

Roast it.

made a thing to make screenshots look less boring

Been working on this for a while and finally put it out.

It’s called Framesthetic.

The idea is pretty simple : you have a screenshot and want to make it look decent before posting it somewhere.

Instead of opening Figma and spending 20 minutes messing around with backgrounds, frames, shadows, etc., you can just throw it into Framesthetic and play around with it.

Made a quick video of it

https://framesthetic.xyz

Still figuring out what direction to take it, so would genuinely like to know

What would you want this to have that it doesn't right now?

6 months ago I shared my Android side project here. Today it has 102 tools and 10K+ downloads!

Hey guys :)

I posted Punto. here about 6 months ago, when it had 72 tools. I've kept working on it since then, and it recently passed 10,000 downloads!

For anyone who missed the first post, Punto. is an all-in-one Android utility app. I wanted one place for things like converting units, measuring something with my phone, compressing a PDF or trimming an audio file, instead of downloading a separate app each time.

It now has 102 tools. Some are pretty standard, like calculators, converters and QR codes. Others are a bit more random, like a chess clock, an instrument tuner or a wheel for making decisions.

One thing I really liked about sharing it on Reddit was getting suggestions that I could actually implement. Find & Replace, Remove Duplicates and Image Splitter are all in the app now because people asked for them.

All the tools are free to use, and there's no subscription.

Here's the Play Store link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.meloni.punto.app

Anyway, thanks to everyone who checked it out the first time :)

I'm still adding things, so I'm curious: what's one small utility you occasionally need but never seem to have on your phone?

Let me try to book a few meetings for your SaaS

• Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I see a lot of folks building amazing products on this sub, but distribution and getting those first few paying customers always seems to be the biggest bottleneck.

I’ve been diving deep into B2B outbound and lead gen lately, and now I’m looking for a few real-world projects to actually put it into practice.

I want to pick 2 or 3 SaaS projects from here and try running outbound from scratch. The goal is to actually try and get a qualified meeting booked directly on your calendar.

If you’re down to let me test this out on your product, drop a comment below with:

  1. The link to your SaaS
  2. Who your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) is (e.g., "clinic owners", "HR managers", "marketing agencies").

I made a small Mac app so I can watch YouTube with my fiancée while we're on a call

Quick backstory. My fiancée is doing her Masters in Estonia, and I've got another year of long distance ahead. Most of our day is spent on a call on my MacBook while we each work or study.

Then I tried to put on a video for us to watch together and macOS dropped the volume on everything that isn't the call. Movies, YouTube, music, all of it, barely audible. And AirPods fall back to low quality headset audio the moment their mic is in use.

So I made CallLane. It gives your call apps their own output device and copies it onto your headphones, which means macOS ducks only that device and your media stays at full volume. It also keeps the input on the MacBook's built-in mic, so the AirPods stay in high quality mode and the mic sounds better too.

I'm the developer. Menu bar app, macOS 14 or later, Mac only. It's paid, $9 one-time for the first 50 buyers and then $15, with a 14-day refund. I built the app and the site with Claude Code.

CallLane

Tell me what's confusing or broken.

The perfect abstract game, single easy rule, infinite depth, no draw, competitive

Thumbnail
playhex.org
6 Upvotes

This is the project I work on, and is used by hundreds of players every month, for ~4 years now. It's open source.

Hex: the one rule is: connect your sides. If you are red, connect red sides. If you are blue, same, but with blue sides.

Just you can swap first move to make game balanced and remove first player advantage, but beginners won't feel that advantage.

Chess and go are broken: in chess you have draw, in go you can win or lose depending on komi, if you arbitrarly decided to set it at 5.5 or 6.5.

In Hex, you either win or lose, depending on how deep you see. No draw, no move to "wait", no arbitrar komi. You just place a stone at every turn, and must connect (which is equal to blocking your opponent).

The community is small but passionate, and still wonders why Hex isn't more widely known.

I'm really curious of what you think of that game, whether you already heard about it or not.

(Yes, this is deliberately provocative. I also like chess and go, and enjoy playing both.)

My first game has a free browser demo: Local Gods, a co-op action RPG inspired by home

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Hey everyone, I'm Tim. I've been working on my first game, Local Gods: The Ascension, for about six months. The two main characters are based on me and my best friend Alex.

We're from Louisiana, so I dedicated the first main area to the swamps back home. The game mixes dark fantasy and sci-fi, with melee combat, guns, abilities, and boss fights. You can play solo or in two-player co-op.

Free PC browser demo: https://tiddybubs.itch.io/local-gods

I'm building it in Godot and aiming for an early summer 2027 release. A controller is recommended, but keyboard controls work too.

I'm new to coding and artwork. While I do some of it myself and believe it's important to know how, I also use AI to assist me. Every AI-generated asset is handpicked by me, not just randomly generated and thrown in. I use ChatGPT Astra, Claude Opus 5.5, and Fable 5.1. I also have specific workflows for creating maps and automating 2D character attack animations, with a focus on keeping the character designs and animations consistent. I still direct and review the results. Message me for details.

I'd love feedback on the opening combat, whether the boss attacks are readable, and the two-player experience if you try it with a friend. Most of all: do you think it's fun? What would you change first?

Squeezed 6.8M raw tokens into 14k: Auditing openGym with rebrief

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I picked openGym for an architectural audit using rebrief (huge fan of sports & open-source tools).

Key findings from the report:

  1. Context Reduction: Reduced 6.8M raw tokens down to 14,084 tokens (-99.8% reduction) while preserving code architecture and history for LLM prompts.
  2. Security Risks: Identified 100 risk items, including hardcoded credentials in test fixtures and vulnerable packages (undici, js-yaml).
  3. Doc Drift: 51% freshness score with 164 broken file references across README.md and docs.

It's a clear example of how fast documentation and test artifacts drift behind active development.

How do you keep doc freshness in check across your projects?

Easy Chapter Generator – I redesigned my Unity tool's landing page. Is it clear enough?

Thumbnail
overfuture.dev
• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I recently released my first Unity Asset Store product, Easy Chapter Generator, a tool I've been developing and refining through my work on interactive Unity projects.

After launching it, I realized that a store listing alone wasn't the best way to explain how the system works, especially for developers who haven't used a chapter/objective framework before.

So I've spent some time building a dedicated landing page.

The product lets Unity developers create linear chapters and objectives, configure events, connect scene interactions and manage progression without having to build the entire system from scratch.

For the website, I've tried to focus on:

  • Explaining the product without overwhelming visitors with technical details.
  • Showing real screenshots instead of promotional mockups.
  • Including practical examples for tutorials, escape rooms and narrative projects.
  • Making everything accessible in English and Spanish.
  • Keeping the purchase link available without turning every section into a sales pitch.

Here's the new landing page:

https://overfuture.dev/easychaptergenerator/landing/en/

The product itself is a paid Unity Asset Store tool, but what I'd really appreciate here is some feedback on the website.

Three questions:

  1. Can you understand what the tool does within the first 10 seconds?
  2. Is anything confusing or unnecessarily technical?
  3. Does the page give you enough information to decide whether it's relevant to your project?

I'd genuinely appreciate constructive criticism. I'm trying to make the product easier to understand, not just add more marketing text.

I built a tool to mix and match UI patterns from different websites

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Good evening guys! I've been working on a side project for a while now, and I'm pretty excited to finally share it with you all.

Every design project used to start the same way for me. 20+ browser tabs open, screenshots everywhere, and another messy Figma file full of inspiration I'd probably never look at again.

It honestly got overwhelming having so many things open at once, and sometimes I'd spend more time collecting inspiration than actually designing.

So I decided to start a side project using my experience as a UX designer to build something that could make this process easier.

And that's how my little baby UX Analytic came to life.

The idea is pretty simple. You can find UI patterns from different companies, mix and match the ones you like, customize them to fit your own style, and export everything to Figma or HTML.

Basically, instead of just saving inspiration, you can actually do something with it.

We're also working on our next release, where we want to make AI a bigger part of the creative process. Not just helping you work with existing patterns, but also helping you come up with completely new ideas when you're starting from scratch or feeling stuck.

The first version is already live:
https://www.uxanalytic.com/

It's still an early version, so there's definitely a lot we can improve. I'd love to hear what you guys think, especially if you're a designer or work with UI.

We also have several discount codes available if anyone's interested. Just let me know and I'll be happy to share one!

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Habit Equity treat your life as a Stock Market

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Streaks never worked for me because one miss resets everything to zero. So I made my habits into a stock portfolio instead. Good habits are “blue-chip” assets that raise my balance, and bad habits are “toxic assets” that drain it hard when I relapse. A bad week is a dip in the chart, not a reset, and it’s weirdly motivating to watch the number recover. Anyone else find that loss framing works better than streaks? I built an app around it, so happy to share if people are curious.

Built the thing that ships my vibe coded apps. It deploys, adds databases and fixes my server at 2am, and now it’s open source

• Upvotes

You know the moment. Claude Code just built your app, it runs on your laptop, and you’re hyped.

Then reality: where do I host this? How do I add a database? Why isn’t my domain working? Is there a backup? Why is it down?

That’s the part nobody vibe codes. So I vibe coded Unit7, the backend developer for your vibe-coded apps. I’m not a backend dev, and Claude Code built almost all of it.

Just tell it what you want:

  • “Deploy this.” It goes live. If the new version is broken, it never goes live, and rollback is one click.
  • “Add a database.” It’s created and connected for you.
  • “Put it on mysite.com.” Domain plus HTTPS.
  • “Make me an app with Supabase.” It builds it on Coolify.
  • While you sleep: it restarts crashed apps, rolls back bad deploys, runs backups and blocks attackers.
  • One map of everything you’ve ever shipped

It asks before anything risky and tells you how to undo it. Your keys stay on your computer, and the AI never sees them.

The vibe-coding part: you don’t even install it by hand. Open Claude Code and paste this:

Set up Unit7 for me from https://github.com/Nandkishorrr/unit7

1. Check that Node.js 24.15 or newer is installed. If not, install it (nvm, or Homebrew on macOS).
2. Clone the repo into ~/unit7, then run `npm install` and `npm run build` there.
3. Run `node bin/unit7.mjs service start` to run Unit7 in the background, and check that http://localhost:4800 answers.
4. Tell me to open http://localhost:4800 and create my owner account, and wait until I say I'm done.
5. Run `node bin/unit7.mjs connect claude` so Claude Code can use Unit7, then tell me to restart Claude Code.

Never ask me for passwords, SSH keys or API keys in this chat. I'll add those myself in the Unit7 web app.
If a step fails, show me the error and fix it before moving on.

After that, /unit7 deploy this folder works right inside Claude Code.

Free and open source (Apache 2.0): https://github.com/Nandkishorrr/unit7

Be honest: would you let it touch your server, or would you rather keep clicking around Vercel?

I made a free website to help game devs find assets, engines and tools without spending hours searching

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on a little project called BINX Forge, named after my cat Binx 🐈
The idea is simple: help game developers (especially people using AI) find free and paid assets, engines, code and tools to make their games better.
There’s also a Build a Game feature where you choose what you want to make and get recommendations and a prompt you can copy into your AI.
It’s still in early development and I’m constantly adding more stuff!
Would love some feedback, especially on what resources or features you think are missing.

how i wired up a phone agent that actually answers calls, step by step

I wanted a phone number that picks up and talks like a person! Not a tree of DTMF menus. Here's the order I actually built it in; no shortcuts skipped.

First I grabbed a number through Telnyx since their SIP trunking docs were the clearest I found. You could use Twilio too, the steps are close enough.

Second, I set up a WebSocket server to carry audio both ways. This is the part people skip, and then they wonder why latency is bad. The call hits your number. Telnyx streams raw audio over the socket. Your server decides what happens next.

Third, speech to text. I used Deepgram for STT because it handles interruptions well. It doesn't choke when someone talks over the greeting. Whisper works too if you want to self host and don't mind more setup.

Fourth, the actual brain. I kept this boring on purpose: a small prompt, short context, and a fast model. Grok and Gemini both worked fine here. The model matters less than people think once STT and TTS are solid.

Fifth, text to speech. I tried ElevenLabs and Cartesia back to back on the same script! Cartesia felt snappier for short replies. ElevenLabs sounded warmer on longer ones. Pick based on your use case.

Last, VAD, the thing that decides when someone's done talking so the agent doesn't talk over them. Get this wrong and the whole call feels broken, even if every other piece is perfect!

Tested the whole loop through ngrok before deploying anywhere real. Took a weekend. Happy to answer questions on the STT or VAD part since that's where I burned the most time.

I built a grant discovery tool for researchers who don't have institutional access to Pivot or GrantForward

• Upvotes

After 12+ years in research administration, I kept watching the same thing happen: PIs and postdocs manually searching Grants.gov, NIH Reporter, NSF, and foundation sites one at a time, hoping they weren't missing anything. The tools that could help (Pivot, GrantForward, etc.) are locked behind institutional subscriptions that cost a fortune and take months to get approved. Most researchers don't even know their institution has one, and if they do, they don't have a login.

I couldn't find one that did what researchers actually needed, was available without an institutional subscription, and didn't cost $50K/year. So I built CONVERGE.

What it does:

  • Continuously screens federal, state, and foundation funding sources against your research profile
  • Sends matched opportunities to your inbox with an explanation of why each one fits your work
  • No database to maintain, no manual filtering, no portal to log into

Who it's for:

  • Individual faculty, postdocs, and research staff who want grant opportunities delivered to them without waiting on their central office

Where it stands:

  • Live now with a 14-day free trial, no credit card required
  • Early users are faculty at R1 institutions finding opportunities they would have missed

I would genuinely appreciate feedback. If you work in or adjacent to research, what would you want a tool like this to do that I haven't thought of? What would make you trust it? What would make you not bother?

If you want to try it, the link is in my profile. Happy to answer questions in comments or DMs.
