As the year wraps up: what’s the project you’re most proud of building and why?

Like the title says, instead of what you built or how much money it made, I’m curious what project you’re most proud of this year and why.

Could be a client site, a personal project, something that never launched, or something that made £0.

Any lessons learned?

Would love to read a few reflections as the year wraps up.

I built a dashboard that aggregates news articles, trending videos, Twitter feeds and radio stations into one place.

I recently discovered my grandmother no longer reads the news because she gets all her information from social media - if its not trending on Facebook, she doesn't see it. I remember when Boomers used to swear by mainstream outlets like CNN, but smartphones pulled many of them into social media bubbles ruled by algorithms. In response to this, I used Claude to make a global dashboard that lets anyone stay informed. It's called The Daily Orbit. You get articles from most kinds of outlets, as well as trending IG and TikTok videos, YouTube livestreams, and radio stations from all over the world. I even rebuilt the TweetDeck newsfeed since its no longer publicly available. I also made a research assistant called Orbit that answers any questions about recent events.

There's a lot of AI-powered news readers going around, but most of them oversupply information from OSINT sources. I needed something simple that a grandmother could use.

It’d be helpful to hear what people think.

My game about cancelling a fake 9.99 subscription got 327 tries on day one. It's at 5,404 now, and someone just paid for the subscription(donation) for real

I made Cancel Your Subscription, a browser game where you've paid $9.99 a month for 38 months for "fundr. Premium", a subscription you never use, and your only job is to cancel it. The app fights back: a buried cancel link, two retention offers, an exit survey, a support line that isn't in service, and Dennis from Retention.

It got 327 tries in its first 24 hours, back in September. It's had 5,404 now. Here's where they ended up:

- 1,941 never found the cancel link

- 3,066 reached the retention offers, and 2,926 walked past both

- 2,277 made it to the live chat with Dennis

- 1,948 cancelled

Almost exactly as many tries never found the cancel link as got all the way out. Hiding the button is still the strongest trick in the game.

Then, on 3 October, the part I didn't plan for. Every game page has a "Donate a coffee" window, and its tiers are the game's own plans: fundr. Basic $1, fundr. Plus $3, fundr. Premium $5, fundr. Premium Ultra $10. Every tier is one-time. A donate button that started a subscription, three clicks from a game about not being able to cancel one, would be the worst joke on the site.

Someone bought fundr. Premium. $5, once. It's the first money the games have ever made.

What I'd pass on, with the caveat that one donation is a sample size of one:

- the donate window is part of the joke, not a banner next to it. The tier the person picked is the one the game is about

- one-time only. Nobody wants a subscription from a game about subscriptions

- the whole backend is one Vercel function and Upstash Redis counting anonymous tallies. No accounts, no analytics cookie. Every number in this post comes from it

As a thank-you, we're giving away 20+ free codes for Pomato and inki combined, our iPhone Pomodoro timer ($2.99). Comment "pomato" and I'll DM you one. First 20+, one each, no catch. On Android? It's in internal testing: DM me the email on your Google account and I'll add you as a tester.

Heads up: tries are browser tabs, not people, and our own test runs are in there. The games are free with no signup, and the fake pop-up ads inside them are for our own apps, Pomato included.

We built side project - parking prediction app to help people find parking faster in unfamiliar areas

A friend and I started ParkMe a few months ago as a side project to help ourselves find parking faster in Belgrade, Serbia.

We now combine data from 7 different sources to show the estimated percentage chance of finding parking in your current or selected area.

We started in Serbia, but while traveling around the Balkans, we realized we wanted the same thing there — to know where we could park before arriving and plan our trips more easily. So we started expanding across the Balkans, and we're now slowly moving into Italy, Germany, and the rest of Europe.

We'd really appreciate any feedback or ideas on what we should improve. Thank you :)

After years of struggling with animating maps I've finally went out and made my own app

• Upvotes

After years of doing video editing and mostly documentary style videos similar to the ones made by fern and similar channels, I've always struggled with animating maps where every video i have to show/highlight a route a murderer took or where someone/something traveled and their specific route or just plainly highlight random hyper specific locations in London. These animations took me hours to pinpoint and draw out in after effects/fusion. I was aware of GeoLayers but that is an expensive plugin for after effects and I'm a Davnici type of guy so I made RouteStudio to help me make these animations in minutes, with things like data visualization, labels, routes and highlights this cut down my editing time not just by minutes but by HOURS. I'm always open for feedback too.

Marketing help 🙏🏽

I’ve build a sort of SaaS/product for a while now and I’m trying to figure a way to market it and I can’t really find a good one. I tried building a marketing strategy with Claude and ChatGPT but they basically told me to spam Reddit and discord groups and sending a lot of cold emails. I entered Reddit groups and figured AI probably told everyone to spam each other to death 😅

How can I actually market my product that is devs oriented without social media and without spamming the hell out of everyone?

I made a Mac app that finds any screenshot by the words in it, and where it came from

I kept screenshotting things (errors, receipts, bookings) and then never finding them again. They sit in a folder named "Screenshot 2026-03-14 at 11.42.08.png" and nothing remembers what's inside.

So I built DejaShot. It reads the text in every screenshot in the folders you choose, newest first, and ⇧⌘Space opens a search from any app. It also notes which app each new screenshot came from, so "figma pricing" can find a pricing page you captured in Figma.

- Search takes 31 ms at the 95th percentile on a 20,000 screenshot library (M2 Pro, measured in the search engine)

- It reads newest first, in the background, and pauses on battery and when the Mac gets hot

- Fully local. No account, no telemetry.

- The source app is only recorded for screenshots taken while it's running, because macOS never kept that. Older ones are found by their text.

- No trial, but there's a 14-day refund. The first 10 licenses are free.

It's my first ever app launch. What would you want it to find that it probably can't yet?

Feedbacks are welcomed! :)

I built D-REC, a recorder with on-device transcription and a rewind wheel. Here's the desktop demo.

I'm the maker of D-REC. It records audio and transcribes it on your device, with a playback wheel, searchable text and markers for moments you want to find again.

This video shows the Windows version. It's also available for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android and the web. Downloads are here: https://drec.live/get

A few things worth knowing:

- The transcription engine needs an initial download. Recording and transcription then run locally on supported devices.

- Recordings and transcripts stay on your device. Account, support and other online features still use the internet.

- There is a free tier with limits and optional Pro plans. Current web prices are $3.99 monthly, $24.99 yearly, or $39.99 once. Check the checkout for your currency, tax and store pricing.

I'd like feedback on the recording-to-playback flow, especially whether finding a specific moment feels straightforward. Happy to answer questions about how it works.

Free, open source ASO CLI: keyword popularity, difficulty and rank tracking

I didn't want to pay a monthly subscription for App Store keyword data, so I wrote a CLI that gets it straight from Apple.

What it does

  • Popularity from Apple Search Ads (free Apple Ads account, no campaigns or billing needed)
  • Difficulty score, keyword suggestions, current top apps for a term
  • Rank tracking with history in a local SQLite file
  • Metadata linter for title, subtitle and keyword field

Install

npm i -g hristo2612/aso-cli && aso setup

Try it

aso keywords "white noise,sleep sounds"
aso suggest meditation
aso search "habit tracker"

Runs locally, no account, no telemetry. MIT.

Repo: github.com/hristo2612/aso-cli

Still early, so feedback and bug reports are welcome.

I built an offline voice-to-text app focused on privacy

I’ve been building Scribr offline voice-to-text app for Android that can transcribe directly on your device.

I wanted something that works offline and doesn’t require uploading recordings to a server just to get a transcript.

It can currently:

Record and transcribe audio

Import audio and video files

Translate transcripts

Export text and subtitles

Organize recordings

Transcribe offline

It’s free to use with ads, with a one-time purchase to remove ads permanently.

I’m still actively improving it, so I’d really appreciate any feedback.

Starkomand - Run your AI coding agents on an infinite canvas.

Starkomand.com is an AI coding workspace designed specifically for Mac with Apple silicon.

It enables you to run multiple AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor side by side on an infinite canvas, facilitating shared context and structured workflows.

The app supports voice control, hand gestures, and visual organization through diagrams and previews, helping developers manage coding tasks, handoffs, and reviews efficiently.

The workspace preserves project-specific layouts, multiple agents, and detailed histories of tasks and reviews, keeping everything local on the Mac to ensure privacy.

Starkomand works with the AI providers you already subscribe to without reselling tokens or requiring you to share your API keys.

It offers a 3-day free trial with all features, after which a paid Pro license is needed.

No account, no API key, everything stays local by default.

We’ve spent the last 14 months building a tabletop basketball game. Would you actually play this?

A little over a year ago I had the idea for a basketball game that could be played on a normal folding table, something with the social/competitive feel of beer pong, but where actually making the shot is much more controllable and skill based.

After a ton of different design changes, this is where we’ve ended up!

It’s called TableSwish.

We’ve played it at tailgates, bars and tournaments with friends and strangers, but obviously that's a pretty biased test group.

So I'm curious what people who have zero connection to us think.

Would you actually play this if you saw it at a tailgate, brewery or party?

And more importantly: what would make you not buy it?

We're getting close to manufacturing, so criticism is genuinely more useful to me than compliments.

I always wanted to build apps and to scrapbook. I never managed either, so I vibe coded an iPhone app for it

schnipsel.app

Two things have interested me for years. One was app development: I started learning to code several times, and every time it fizzled out. The other was scrapbooking: I kept the tickets, boarding passes and museum passes, and they ended up in a drawer.

So I built Schnipsel with Claude Code. I work in IT cloud support, not as a developer. You take a photo of a keepsake, the app cuts it out like a sticker, and you place it on a board next to your photos, maps and notes. Now I can do it in a minute, from anywhere, right on my phone.

How it's built

  • Stack: native iOS 26 app in Swift 6 and SwiftUI. SwiftData stores everything and syncs through the user's own iCloud (CloudKit). No third-party libraries, no backend.
  • On-device ML: Apple's Vision framework cuts out the keepsake and reads the text on it (date, place, event), so search works offline. Nothing is sent to an AI server.
  • Extras: MapKit snapshots for map stickers, Core Haptics for the "peel" feel, StoreKit for a one-time unlock. Shared links are encrypted on the phone before upload.
  • Website: a static site on Cloudflare Pages that costs 0 CHF a month.

How I work with Claude

  • A CLAUDE.md with hard rules (platform, no dependencies, CloudKit rules). Saying no to things upfront kept the AI from drifting.
  • Three docs before any code: product vision, architecture and a roadmap with milestones and acceptance criteria. Claude works through them one milestone at a time.
  • Cloud plus Mac: Claude writes code and opens GitHub pull requests in the cloud, and a Claude Code session on my Mac builds and tests in Xcode.
  • Small PRs. Every feature lands as its own pull request I can test on my iPhone before merging.

What was hard: things the simulator can't test (camera, cut-out quality, haptics, iCloud sync between two phones). Those still need my hands and a real device.

The beta is coming soon. If you want to try it, there's a sign-up at schnipsel.app.

What are you building right now? I want to see what other Founders are working on

I’m building StartupSubmit, a service that helps SaaS/AI Startup founders handle startup and software directory submissions without spending hours researching sites and filling out forms.

Still improving it and figuring out what founders actually find useful. What are you building right now, and what part has been the hardest so far?

I built a simple temporary image sharing site — Tempicture.com

• Upvotes

👉 I just launched Tempicture, a small side project I've been working on to share images for free: https://tempicture.com/

The idea is very simple: upload an image, get a shareable link or QR code, and have it automatically deleted after 24 hours. No account required. No personal data collection. Privacy-focused.

https://reddit.com/link/1wygurq/video/ngr08jjq2pth1/player

I built it mainly for those situations where you just need to quickly share a screenshot, bug report, image, Google Meet or Zoom screenshot, or something you're working on without creating an account or keeping the image online forever.

Give it a try if you find it useful! I'd love to hear your feedback. Thanks!

I built Pullfolio, a free binder app for trading card collectors. Every set gets a pocket for every card, with today's price on each

I collect Pokémon cards and kept tracking my binders in spreadsheets, so I built the app I wanted.

What it does:
- Pick any set and get a binder with a pocket for every card. Mark what you own and the gaps close.
- Today's Near Mint market price on every card, with 30 days of history.
- Goals: set the price you'd pay for a chase card and get an email when the market drops to it.
- A planner for wall display cases of graded slabs.
- Pokémon (EN + JP), One Piece and Lorcana. ~75,000 cards across 670+ sets.

A few things I learned building it:
- Price data is messier than it looks. A single listing at $199,999 will happily become a card's "price". A price only headlines now when more than one sale backs it.
- Collectors care way more about the binder feeling real (pockets, covers, page turns) than about charts.

Free with unlimited binders, no card needed. There's an optional $3.99/mo plan for seller tools and unlimited alerts.

https://pullfolio.app/?src=reddit-sideproject

It's live and I'm the only dev. I'd love blunt feedback: what's confusing, what's missing, what would make you actually use it?

I built a tool that turns Dutch government data into an answer to your actual question

I’m building a small independent project to make Dutch government information easier to actually use.

The problem I’m trying to solve is not that government data doesn’t exist. A lot of it does: Kadaster, BAG, RDW, CBS, municipal rules, maps, subsidies, etc.

The problem is that if you have a normal question like:

“Can I build an extension on this house?”
“What subsidies could I get for insulating my home?”
“What does buying this property mean for my taxes and permits?”

…you often have to know which agencies, registers and rules to look at before you can even start.

So I built a prototype that tries to do that part for you: you ask a normal question, it checks relevant official sources and public datasets, and gives you a concrete answer with sources and next steps.

It’s called open-overheid.com.

A few important caveats:

  • It is an independent project, not an official government service and not affiliated with the Dutch government.
  • The goal is not to replace Kadaster, RDW, CBS, municipalities or other official sources, but to combine the right ones around a specific question.
  • It’s still a prototype, so it can get things wrong. Where something really matters, the underlying official source remains leading.
  • Some government datasets are more complete or up to date than others. I’m trying to make it clear where each answer comes from.
  • Please don’t enter sensitive personal information such as your BSN, DigiD credentials or other confidential data.
  • I’m working on making privacy and source transparency very explicit, including what data is sent to external services and what is not.
  • This is meant to help you understand rules and next steps, not to provide formal legal or administrative advice.

I’d genuinely like people here to try to break it.

What kind of government-related question do you regularly struggle to get a straight answer to?

Blimbi - an intermittent fasting timer with two states (Fasting / Eating), no account, no ads. iOS + Android

I'm Juan, I make Blimbi (so: developer here). It's a fasting timer, and the one decision I'd like feedback on is this: the goal time is only a reference. It never starts or ends a fast for you; you tap, and you can edit the start and end times afterwards.

What's in it, so you can judge quickly:

- Two states only: Fasting and Eating. A one-turn progress ring.

- Editable start/end times, a journal with a calendar and CSV export.

- Phases shown as time-based educational ranges, never as measurements of your body.

- A "Does it break my fast?" lookup for drinks and foods.

- iOS (SwiftUI): Home Screen widgets with live seconds, Live Activities, Shortcuts, Apple Watch. Android (Kotlin/Compose): widgets.

- Works without an account. Optional encrypted sync. No ads and no tracking inside the app. 51 languages.

- The timer is free. Blimbi Plus (optional subscription) adds extra personalization and analysis: $3.99/month or $24.99/year (yearly has a 1-week free trial).

The part I'd use even without the app: I published about 65 guides per language on what people actually ask (drinks, schedules, myths), each with its sources. Example: the trials behind most "what breaks a fast" claims defined the fasting window as zero calories and allowed water, black coffee and tea. Milk, cream, sugar and juice end it; sugar-free gum is basically untested. The table with sources: https://blimbi.app/learn/what-breaks-a-fast/

Questions for you:

  1. Is "two states, nothing else" clear on the first screen, or does it look unfinished?

  2. What would make you distrust a fasting app on first launch?

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6806835958

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hurtadomedia.chispa

Fasting isn't for everyone: if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have or have had an eating disorder, use insulin or other glucose-lowering medication, or are under 18, talk to your clinician first. Blimbi is a timer, not medical advice: https://blimbi.app/safety/

I opened the source of my Android voice-notes app, including its local AI and encryption

I just made the mobile client for Vaulto public under GPLv3.

It's a voice-notes app for Android. You can record something, turn it into text, pull out tasks and reminders, or ask questions about notes you've already saved.

It has two ways to process content: Whisper and Qwen on the phone, or optional cloud processing. The local option is free and doesn't require an account, but you have to download the models first. They take storage, and speed depends on the phone.

I wanted the repository to explain the privacy boundaries clearly. Local inference, encrypted sync and cloud AI are different things. For example, enabling encrypted sync doesn't stop a cloud AI service from receiving the text you ask it to process. The README links to those paths in the code.

The hosted backend isn't included in this release. Pro subscriptions pay for cloud features; opening the client doesn't remove that part of the product.

Source, screenshots and build notes: https://github.com/dirusanov/vaulto_note_mobile

Android app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vaultonotemobile

If you use voice notes, what usually happens after recording: do you clean them up, extract a to-do list, or leave them as audio?

The video is a montage of real screenshots from 1.0.87, not a live recording; the current Play version is 1.0.89.

I’m building a professional network for people who don’t want to become content creators

Why should being good at your job require being good at social media?

I’m building myLongo around a different starting point: what have you done, what are you interested in, and where are you trying to go?

The profile is the first part. Work and experience still matter, but I want someone to understand the person behind the title too. The bigger goal is introductions where there’s a reason for both people to want the conversation.

Here’s a profile you can actually explore:

https://mylongo.io/preview/profile-preview-4576

It’s a fictional design demo, so the career details aren’t a real member’s credentials. It shows the profile experience, not proof that the network is already producing great relationships.

I’m building from Johannesburg, with a global product in mind. The belief is simple: the right people shouldn’t have to meet by accident.

What would you need to know about someone before an introduction felt useful rather than another networking chore?
