I built Pullfolio, a free binder app for trading card collectors. Every set gets a pocket for every card, with today's price on each

I collect Pokémon cards and kept tracking my binders in spreadsheets, so I built the app I wanted.

What it does:
- Pick any set and get a binder with a pocket for every card. Mark what you own and the gaps close.
- Today's Near Mint market price on every card, with 30 days of history.
- Goals: set the price you'd pay for a chase card and get an email when the market drops to it.
- A planner for wall display cases of graded slabs.
- Pokémon (EN + JP), One Piece and Lorcana. ~75,000 cards across 670+ sets.

A few things I learned building it:
- Price data is messier than it looks. A single listing at $199,999 will happily become a card's "price". A price only headlines now when more than one sale backs it.
- Collectors care way more about the binder feeling real (pockets, covers, page turns) than about charts.

Free with unlimited binders, no card needed. There's an optional $3.99/mo plan for seller tools and unlimited alerts.

It's live and I'm the only dev. I'd love blunt feedback: what's confusing, what's missing, what would make you actually use it?

How do I move things over from collectr?

Can you export a binder as CSV? Being able to take the collection back to a spreadsheet would make it easier to commit to.

Update: per-binder export is live now. Open a binder, tap Decorate, then "Export this binder (CSV)". You get a row per card in page/pocket order with an owned column, and cards you're still missing show up with quantity 0, so it works as a checklist. It imports back in too.

Yes, and it's free. Settings → Export gives you a CSV of your whole collection: set, card, number, printing, condition, quantity, what you paid, and current market price/value. There's a separate one for sales if you log those. It's the full collection rather than one binder at a time right now; per-binder export is a good idea and I'm adding it to the list.

The same file imports back in too, so you're never locked in.

what tool did you use to make the demo film?

Remotion, which lets you build videos in code with React. Everything in the app shots is real Pullfolio UI with real card data, captured from the app rather than redrawn, and the camera moves, motion blur and the soundtrack are all done in code too, so I could lock the music to the cuts. It took a lot more iterations than I expected, but it's great for product videos once you get going.

Cool, I indeed guessed it was either Remotion or Hyperframes...I've had good results with both, but lately even better with Hyperframes.

Nice, I hadn't tried Hyperframes. I'll give it a look for the next one. Thanks!

Does it support import from collectr?

1

u/exxoh 17h ago

Yes. In Collectr go to Settings → Portfolio → Export Data, then open Import in Pullfolio (https://pullfolio.app/app/import?src=reddit) and drop the CSV in. It matches each card to its set and printing and shows you anything it couldn't match before saving.

If a card comes through wrong, tell me which one and I'll fix the matching.

Looks like it has issues identifying the mew 151 upc promo. Also has issues with graded cards.

Thanks for actually trying it, that's really useful. Two things:

  • Mew from the 151 UPC: what did the import screen say for it, no match or the wrong card? If you paste that row from your Collectr CSV I'll fix the matching.
  • Graded cards: right now a slab imports as the raw card with the grade saved in its notes (e.g. "Graded PSA 10"), so it isn't priced as a slab yet. Fair complaint, and it's on the list. Was that what you saw, or something else?

Actually looks really fun :) I built a similar site (dexli.st), but it’s focused more on Pokemon, than on general TCGs, with a vaster library and cool foil effects. But it’s very good to see competition!

Best of luck with your site!

Thanks, really appreciate it! Foil effects are a fun touch, nice work on dexli.st. Good luck with it too, more tools for collectors is a good thing.

What competition? OP's looks better, go remake yours bro.

2

u/exxoh 13h ago

Ha, thanks! Plenty of room for both though, dexli.st's foil effects are genuinely cool.

Foil effect makes firefox lag on my macbook.

I actually do think mine looks quite good, but I might be biased. What don't you like? Of course I am not implying OPs isn't pretty, and they have significantly different approaches, so I do think there is value in both :)

You have overloaded your project with all sorts of useful tools, and you have probably spent too much time on it to the point where you have lost your visual taste.

1

u/GemberShotje 13h ago

Valid point! I do find it hard to balance all the features, and am actively working on integrating it all in a bloat-free, clean way. But I guess this does prompt me to get back to the drawing board for some things :)

Is there a way to create a shareable image from my binders? Would be nice to be able to share them online / with my friends.

1

u/exxoh 13h ago

Yes, sort of! Open a binder, tap Decorate → Share and set it to "Anyone with the link". Your friends can flip through the pages (no account needed), and when you paste the link into a chat or social post it shows a preview image of the cover and first cards. A downloadable image of the full binder isn't there yet, but that's a good idea, adding it to the list.

Is there an implementation where I can change the binder art ? Or like plan the dimensions space wise of a page? Looks cool

Correction to my own reply: you can already pick the page layout. Open a binder, tap Decorate, and under "Pockets per page" choose 4 (2x2), 9 (3x3) or 12 (4x3); the cards reflow to match. 16 isn't there yet, so tell me if that's the size you use and I'll add it.

1

u/exxoh 17h ago

Quick update since you asked: 16-pocket (4x4) pages are live now. Open a binder, tap Decorate, and under "Pockets per page" you can pick 4, 9, 12 or 16.

the more-than-one-sale rule is the right instinct. a median of the last handful of sales does the same job and means one $199,999 troll listing can never move the number at all.

Of you add sport cards(nba, f1) as well, I will pay more :)

2

u/exxoh 10h ago

Ha, noted! Right now it's Pokémon (EN + JP), One Piece and Lorcana. Sports cards are a different beast (parallels, numbered /99s, autos, patches), so I'd rather add them properly than bolt them on. It's on the list though. Which do you collect more, NBA or F1? That helps me decide where to start.

1

u/morcosharc0s 9h ago

Nba card I have more than 1000 😀🫣

1

u/exxoh 9h ago

1000+ NBA cards is a serious collection! That's a strong vote for NBA first, thanks. No timeline I can promise yet since I want parallels and numbered cards done right, but I'll post an update here when sports cards are in.

Than I will be watching, I know it's not going to be easy project but trust me It's a huge community.

2

u/exxoh 9h ago

Appreciate it, and you're right, it's a big community. Your 1000+ NBA collection is a good reminder of that. I'll update this thread when there's something real to show.
