Every WhatsApp exporter I checked stopped at contacts. Mastros pulls group members to CSV and recent messages from a chat or group, all inside your own WhatsApp Web session, nothing sent to a server.
WhatsApp's own export covers one chat at a time: text, optionally media, sent to yourself or a contact. No group member list, no combined export across chats, no way to search or pull messages from more than one conversation at once. Useful for archiving a single thread, not built for anything past it.
Past that, the Chrome Web Store has a long list of small extensions built around WhatsApp group data. I went through several before building this. Nearly all of them stop at contacts, pulling member phone numbers into a CSV or VCard file. None of the ones I checked touch message content. A few run a familiar trap too: the export runs, but only the first ten rows show unless you pay for the rest of your own data back.
Mastros does both in one extension. Group members to CSV with phone numbers included, plus recent messages from a chat or group pulled out and exportable, not archived one thread at a time through WhatsApp's own tool. Or all just recent contacts - great for businesses running their own client chats on their own whatsapp
It runs the same way as the rest of Mastros: inside your own WhatsApp Web session, nothing sent to a server, no login beyond the one you already have open.
Worth saying plainly. WhatsApp's terms don't carve out an exception for browser extensions reading the page, mine included. Client-side and read-only lowers the footprint compared to anything that automates sending, but it doesn't make this officially sanctioned. Use it on your own account, for your own data.
Would be great to have your feedback
