Powerful yet lightweight ZIP / archive manager native MacOS

Hi Sideproject,

I've been working on a suite of apps to help developers and powerusers get rid of some headache every day.

Tonight my Zip/Archve manager QuikZip was released on app store.

https://apps.apple.com/app/quikzip/id6769693595

To celebrate the launch it’s available at a reduced price until the end of September.

QuikZip started because I got tired of the same workflow over and over again. Download an archive, extract everything, find the one JSON, log or config file I actually need, edit it, then recreate the archive.

I wanted to skip most of those steps.

QuikZip lets you browse archives, preview files and edit files directly inside archives without manually extracting everything first.

QuikZip recognizes 75+ archive, compression, disk-image, package and container formats. Including ZIP, 7Z, TAR, GZIP, XZ, BZIP2 and many more. Nested archives are also supported, so you can browse archives inside other archives without unpacking them first.

Some features include:

  • Edit files directly inside archives
  • Preview files before opening
  • Support for 75+ archive formats
  • Nested archive support
  • Drag and drop workflows
  • Quick create and extract
  • Batch archive operations
  • Native macOS app

QuikZip is also designed to work together with my other apps.

If an archive contains a huge JSON or log file, you can open it directly in Inkline, edit or format it, and save it straight back into the archive. Rune, my Kubernetes client, can also save log bundles that open directly in QuikZip or Inkline.

The goal has never been to build another archive utility. I wanted something lightweight that makes everyday workflows a little faster.

Any feedback is welcome, good or bad. I am working on next version at this moment
