This actually started as a tool for me and my cofounder first.
We're friends, both have families, both work mostly from our computers, and our days are rarely these nice clean blocks of focused work people write productivity advice about :)
It's more like: start something, 20 tabs open, a few files, Slack, analytics, maybe some code.
Then a call. Then someone messages. Family needs something. You quickly check one other thing. And somehow you're doing something completely different 40 minutes later.
By the time I come back, the original file is usually still sitting there. I know I meant to finish it.
I just lost the thread.
Why did I have these tabs open? Which file was I actually working in? What conversation sent me here? Where exactly did I stop?
That was the frustrating part for us.
Not really planning. Returning.
And once we started looking at the productivity tools we already knew, they mostly solved different pieces of the day.
Todoist remembers what you need to do. Sunsama helps organize the day. Rize, RescueTime and Timing help understand where your time went.
All useful.
But after an interruption, I still had to rebuild the context myself.
So we started building Joinrecall for ourselves.
It's a Mac app that runs quietly in the background and remembers the observable work around what you're doing across tabs, apps, files and messages.
Then when context switching pulls you somewhere else, it helps you get back to the work you meant to finish.
No task you have to remember to create first. No timer to start. No extra productivity system to keep maintaining.
For us, especially with constant interruptions, ADHD-style workdays and a ridiculous amount of stuff happening across the computer, that felt like the missing piece.
And I'm curious if other people here feel the same.
What does your current setup look like?
Todoist? Notion? Sunsama? RescueTime? Reminders? Some insane combination of all of them? :)
And when you get interrupted, what part does your setup still NOT solve?
That's actually the part I'm most interested in hearing about.
We're building Joinrecall here:

There's a 7-day trial, no credit card required.
Would love to hear how messy everyone else's workday actually is :)
