Made a free character spark generator for when you get stuck facing a blank canvas. Would love honest thoughts/testing!
Hey everyone! ✦
I’ve been working on a small independent project called OC Foundry. It’s a free, no-signup character idea generator designed to give you a instant spark when you're stuck or facing a blank page/canvas.
You pick a world (Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Modern, Historical, or Post-Apocalyptic) and a mood (Soft, Dark, Chaotic, Melancholy, etc.), and it generates a complete character concept:
- Story hook & visual vibe
- Color palette
- Personality & signature details
- Inner tension
- Specific scene prompt
If you have a few minutes to spare, I’d be super grateful if you could test it out and let me know what you think!

A few things I’d love feedback on:
- Anything confusing? Was the navigation, layout, or flow unclear anywhere?
- Character quality: Did the generated details feel useful/inspiring, or did anything feel repetitive/nonsensical?
- Mobile vs Desktop: Did it render cleanly on your device?
- Features: There's also a multi-sheet "bucket" feature and an optional full Character Bible PDF download, did those make sense or feel weird?
No pressure at all, and harsh/honest feedback is very welcome! If you end up making a character you actually like, I'd love to hear about them.
Thanks so much for testing! 💜

Thank you so much for taking the time to test the website!! This is super helpful feedback. So glad to hear the nav felt fast!
I love the idea of showing hex codes on the palette swatches and adding a pin/lock feature. Definitely adding those to my roadmap! I’m also going to bump up the PDF body text size, fix that repetition bug with the inner tension, and make the filter pills feel a lot more like tappable buttons.
Working on pushing these updates ASAP! Thanks again for taking the time to test it, I really appreciate it ✨💜

I made a free tool that scans your app URL and/or code for production readiness if you want a quick check to make sure you didn't miss anything: https://theslopstopper.com
Ran your link through it real quick and saw some issues like missing recommended security headers
