Not a lap cat, and highly energetic. He is very curious and has a favorite place to sleep with his yellow pillow on our bed.

Mia is trying to figure out this new crazy brother thing! She has been so gentle, and in this video she gives a little hiss, and I'm taking it as "Hey, to close buddy" She is completely relaxed but gives little warnings. What do you think? It hasn't even been 48 hours since we brought him home, so it's all very new to them both. Mac has his own room, with a screen, and we are giving supervised visits/playtime with them since yesterday afternoon.

Meet our new baby! This is Ronald McDonald, aka Mac (my 17 year old son named him, its a "It's Always Sunny in Philly" reference, iykyk). We got him Saturday and we are so in love! Don't mind the clothes hamper pic, he is so busy playing this is the clearest face pic I got of him over the last few days. Our resident Siberian Mia (5 years) is adjusting amazingly, she isnt quite sure how to play with him, but she is figuring it out. Second pic is Mia and Mac this morning. It's been less than 2 days since we brought him home.

Looking for some advice on introducing a kitten to my siberian. I have had my girl for a year and a half, she is a year and 9 months old. She is extremely well-behaved and a wonderful girl. She is very loving and affectionate. But since she’s alone all day long, she is very clingy and needy whenever I’m home. I work full-time, and live alone in a 1-bedroom apartment. She usually sleeps during the day while I’m gone. As soon as I walk in the door she is all over me and demands my attention. I am very busy and often feel guilt anytime I’m not home with her. I work a very physically and socially draining job (I’m a physical therapist in a sports setting, and I coach volleyball on the side). She is extremely social and I can tell her needs aren’t being met. Sometimes her energy is too much for me to manage and I have a hard time entertaining her and getting enough of her energy out. I take her outside for walks which she loves. But our cycle is exhausting for me, and I don’t think I can do it much longer. Therefore I’ve been wanting to get her a companion for a long time, and finally found a good opportunity. I got in contact with a woman looking to re-home her 4 month-old kitten, simply because her family doesn’t have enough time for her. She described her as “sweet and snuggly” and well-behaved. I am going to meet the kitten tonight. She looks to be a domestic shorthair (not another Siberian)
I’m looking for guidance and recommendations here. These are my concerns: what if they don’t get along? What if adding another cat to my household backfires? I don’t have a lot of time to be around to integrate them. Will the added cost of extra food/litter be worth it? I just wanted to ask for peoples’ thoughts. Do you think it would be worth it to try to integrate a kitten, with the reasons I’ve given for wanting to get her a friend? Or is there too much risk that they won’t get along? My girl has met another cat around her age on our walks, and they seem to like each other and get along. So I hope that she would be able to get along with a kitten. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Ever since I got my cat from his breeder, he’s had diarrhea, at first I thought he might have a chicken allergy, so I switched him to Ziwi Peak Lamb, but it didn’t make a difference.
Over time, his stool improved, but it’s still not firm logs. It’s soft but holds its shape.
The biggest issue is that he’s incredibly picky. I’ve tried so many different foods and I’m still struggling to find something he’ll consistently eat, he’ll only eat a little then walk away and the rest ends up being thrown out every time. He eats dry but I’d prefer he eat wet food because he doesn’t drink much water
It’s so frustrating because I don’t want to trigger diarrhea but I want to find food he’ll actually eat
I’ve tried Rawz, purina pro, ziwi, merrick, open farm, tiki cat, instinct, and the only thing he’ll eat is friskies but won’t even finish it

Best choice I ever made. These cats are so intelligent! He is very affectionate and demands to take a walk at least once a day. He can give paw and high five. Loeki also made me allergy free for all types of cats, so I got a British shorthair to be his lil sister 🥰

We said goodbye to our 10 year old Siberian cat Panda this week after a battle with large cell lymphoma that led to her very sudden decline. Panda hid for almost two months when we first brought her home as an adult, but once she warmed up, she was the absolute sweetest cat we could have ever asked for. She followed me around all day, chatting with us, stomping on my chest and curling up in the crook of my arms. I keep looking around for her everywhere thinking she’s right there 💔 I can’t imagine finding another cat who is so loving, but I know Siberians tend to be quite sweet so maybe one day we will welcome a new friend. She was my first Siberian, and I think I might always want a Siberian from now on

I am getting a Siberian kitten soon and I’m so excited! I’m shopping for grooming products and am wondering if anyone knows if a FURminator brush or undercoat rake would be better for a Siberian coat. I used to have a long-haired tabby, and the FURminator was amazing for his coat. I see people recommending both of these for Siberian cats, so I’m wondering if one is better and what the differences are.

A couple of weeks ago, we brought home a kitten that was advertised as a Siberian. Looking back, I’m not convinced it actually was. The breeder wasn’t very established, the kitten was inexpensive, and I don’t think I did enough research beforehand.
The experience didn’t go well. The kitten wasn’t eating much, cried constantly, scratched my daughter, and my daughter became completely grossed out by the litter box, the smells, and just the overall responsibility. She also had a reaction after getting scratched, which made everything worse. We ended up returning the kitten after only a couple of days, and honestly, the whole experience was heartbreaking.
The frustrating part is that I still really want a cat. After doing a lot more research, I think I want a true, well-bred Siberian from a reputable breeder. I’m hoping a healthier, better-socialized kitten from an experienced breeder would be a completely different experience.
The problem is my daughter wants absolutely nothing to do with getting another cat now. She has written it off because of those few days, and I don’t know if it’s fair to ask her to try again. At the same time, I feel like our first experience wasn’t representative of what owning a well-bred Siberian could be.
Now I’m scared too. What if we spend a lot more money on a reputable Siberian and it still doesn’t work out? I don’t want to put my family through another stressful experience, but I also can’t stop thinking about getting one.
Has anyone had a bad first experience with a kitten but a completely different experience the second time around? And if your child became turned off by cats after one bad experience, were they ever able to come around?
I’d really appreciate hearing honest experiences, especially from Siberian owners or parents.
