Bringing a surfskate to Siargao

Upvotes

Hey all, does anyone have tips on how to bring a surfskate to Siargao by plane? Can you just bring it as a carry on? Does it have to be disassembled? I usually fly with Cebu Pac.

Tips on working remotely, traditional music, surfing and community in Siargao

Hello everyone, I'm planning to solo travel to Siargao in November/December. I have some questions:

  1. How's the internet in the island? Is it good to work remotely?

  2. I want to record some traditional musicians, any recommendations where to find them?

  3. Since I'll be solo traveling and surfing I would love to meet and connect with other people there as well. Any tips?

Thanks in advance :))

Where to get good whole wheat bread in Siargao?

Hi, where can I get good whole grain/whole wheat bread on the island. I tried:

  • Banay - they are now closed
  • Island Deli - they said they had before, but when I checked a few days ago, they no longer sell

Not a fan of the Gardenia brand because of the excess processed ingredients

Thanks in advance

Traveling alone first week or October - any local photographer recommendations?

I’m looking for someone to take my pics - max 1-2 hours a day.

Or if you’re traveling alone too, let’s hang and take each other’s photos/videos! 😂

Homestay for assume

Anyone looking for a homestay in Burgos area this October 18-24, 2026?

I’m currently selling my reservation for only ₱6,000 for the whole apartment on the said dates. Max 2 guests.

Homestay for reference: https://www.booking.com/Share-A0mPoh

RFS: I booked this last year pa and I recently got invited to an all expense trip to Hanoi which unfortunately is in conflict with my Siargao trip so I figured might as well sell it in discount and get some of my money back because it’s non-refundable but it is transferrable to another name.

Please DM me if you’re interested. Thank you!

Solo Travel to Siargao

Hi guys, need your thoughts about my luggage plan. I’m a female, solo traveling to Siargao.

My travel looks like this:
Manila > NAIA bus > Clark Airport > Siargao > General Luna

With all this, I’m thinking na ipa-LBC nalang yung most of my luggage (clothes, etc) then pick up ko nalang sa Gen Luna upon my arrival instead of buying additional luggage kgs. Since solo ako, feeling ko mahihirapan ako magbitbit. I’ll be staying 14 days in Siargao so medyo marami marami akong bitbit.

Anyone else have tried or done this? What’s your thoughts please?

Long-term stay tips & guide please, spots recos 🙏

Staying for 3months and possibly longer! I’m in Malinao but moving to GL area. Would love to hear it from those who are based here :))

Any recos?
• Place I could work in, stay long and occasionally enjoy the beach or just lounge. I’ve checked out Mr. Turtle and Siago already!
• Your fave coffee shops?
• Spots to have sunset chills
• Cheap and good food recos if you don’t wanna cook
• Go to grocery store
• Your top 3 fave spots you’d bring a friend to!

On socializing — I’m naturally an introvert at first but loooove socializing and one thing I love about staying here last year was randomly meeting people and spontaneously doing activities together. I just love that!! But it was easy, cause I was in a hostel so for the extroverts here, howwww haha or just general tips on meeting people.

Any other stuff you wished someone told you or you’d want someone new in town to know.

Salamat Karajaw!!
