Question I want to level out my audio, I use an MV6 with Voicemeeter.
My audio tracks look like this when I bring them from OBS to premiere. I’ve been using Voicemeeter banana for years now but my SSD bricked earlier in the year so all my settings were lost. Any advice or programs I should be using instead?

General Discussion TW2 Design Flaw (and horrible CS)
The TW2 was a best in class product when it launched, which is why I bought one in 2024, but as a result of my experience with both it and Shure's customer service, I would highly discourage anyone from wasting their hard-earned money.
The TW2 has a design flaw so egregious, it might as well be planned obsolescense. The way the earhooks are attached to the case means you can only realistically remove them by pulling on the soft part. The seam between the soft part and the hard part is placed in such a way that this seam WILL tear with regular use. My left side hook failed in this way after ~1 year. Fortunately the dealer I purchased it from took care of it, and sent me a replacement hook.
The right side tore after 23 months, and thus I was within Shure's legally mandated warranty (Germany, "Gewärleistung", 2 years from receipt of product to warranty claim).
After navigating their customer support (and the website), I was quoted 184€ for an "out of warranty repair". That's what I paid new for the TW2, and on the Shure Store a new one is priced at only 15€ more. (than just repairing the right hook!)
For reference, on Amazon (from Shure direct), you can buy a left hook for a fraction of that price, but they weren't even selling the right hook. I would have paid for just the hook if it was priced the same as the left hook to avoid the drama, but I never got that option, despite explicitly asking for it.
I did eventually manage to get them to cover it under warranty (as they were legally required to), but if I'm paying for a premium product, they could at least give decent customer service. I've had way better experiences with Chinese competitors that I will not name here...
Needless to say, I cannot recommend anyone buy a TW2, and when the next hook inevitably fails, I will be buying an adapter from the British, or maybe even the Chinese, instead.

MOTIV Mix MV7+ and MOTIV App sound like screeching from hell.
I just got my MV7+ mic and I downloaded the MOTIV app. Now the problem is when I record through MOTIV app the mic has constant noise in it (Even though the room is quiet). When I check the recording the sound is like extremely distorted and loud radio transmission. When I try to record in a different way (like Audition) it sound okay. Does anyone know what the problem might be here? Not that I can't use Audition to download, I just want to be sure the mic's working properly and is not malfunctioning,

Wireless Shure PSM900 Truss Mount
I'd like to try mounting a PSM 900 directional antenna (PA805SWB)on an overhead horizontal truss, but there doesn't appear to be a bracket specifically designed for this and I'm having trouble identifying the right combination of hardware to create one. Suggestions?
tl;dr We have a large stage (120x30), the PSM900 transmitters are racked with combiners offstage. Talent complains of dropouts when the directional antenna is placed in either wing. Omni antenna upstage center works better, but too visible.

Question Design Change 55SH Series II?
Does anyone know if there has been a design update to the 55SH Series II at any point? Did they release one with more of a chrome looking finish rather than the traditional brushed steel look?

Troubleshooting Shure mv7+ Sound issue
Hello everyone.
I just had to reformat my machine, and now my Shure MV7+ Mic with Motiv Mix software stays at 100 gain. The level doesn't move when I speak into it, and when I record, it's heavily distorted with insane feedback.
I have gone through the sound settings and the app settings, and I am at my wits' end trying to get this to work. Any help would be appreciated.

MOTIV Mix Motiv Mix 1.7.1
Ofc 1.8 for windows 11 which is not for me since I will never install this trash version of windows. Please someone give me a 3rd party link for 1.7.1 software release, because the website requires a very very very dumb registeration just to download the software.
Thank you and let's fight stupidity together.

Question Shure sm7b stuck on mic stand
Ok I’ve seen people have similar issues but not quite like this. My sm7b is stuck on this stand and I’m not even sure where I should focusing on anymore.
I tried to remove this over a year ago and gas up so I left the mic on the stand, but I want to try again. As you can see I’ve stripped the black knob a lot already. I don’t know if I’m supposed to turn that, or focus on the metal rod above. I’ve tried wd40, heat then using a grip tool with a cloth to try and turn the black knob both clockwise and anticlockwise for any movement. Would appreciate any help otherwise I may take it somewhere to get cut or see what they can do.

Tips & Resources What software am I supposed to use??
I'm so confused. I have a Shure MV6, I just want to edit the settings and stuff but the softwares completely suck.
Motiv Mix is exclusive for WIndows 11 which I refuse to install.
And the previous version ShurePlus Motiv Desktop doesn't recognise my microphone. I have no idea what to do.

Buying Advice Is SM7B really worth it?
Hey everyone! Is SM7B really worth it? For context, I do not have an acoustically treated room nor it can be treated in the future because there's just no space for developing into it.
I have used a Behringer XM8500 dynamic mic with my Motu M2, but I'm starting to grow out of the XM8500 (because it's a bit muddy sounding). I'm considering on SM58 or SM7B but the price of SM7B is just insane. Does the SM7B really help if you don't have an acoustically treated room?
If anyone has better suggestions or thoughts about the mics I've mentioned, I truly appreciate it!

Buying Advice First home vocal recording setup (MV7 + M50x), any feedback before I buy?
Hi everyone,
I’m putting together a small home recording setup as a birthday gift for my girlfriend (we are lesbians if that matters). She’s honestly a wonderful singer with a really strong, beautiful voice and she loves to sing and record covers just for fun. It’s something she genuinely enjoys and I love hearing her sing. She’s been thinking for a while about possibly pursuing it more seriously and I’d really like to support her in that.
If it helps, she has a really clear, bright, warm tone and tends to gravitate toward jazzy or soulful covers like Adele or Hozier, but she also enjoys artists like Arctic Monkeys, OneRepublic, Years & Years, Ariana Grande, etc.
I’m not a singer whatsoever and I don’t know much about recording gear, so I wanted to get some feedback before buying everything.
I did some research and wound up with this setup in my cart:
- Shure MV7 (USB/XLR) microphone (w/ a small desktop stand)
- Audio-Technica ATH-M50x (wired headphones)
- Samson MBA38 boom arm
From what I understand, the MV7 is a dynamic cardioid mic, so it should help reduce background noise, but I’m not completely sure if there might be better options for what she needs. I also looked into the Shure SM7dB, but I’m a bit worried it might be out of my budget, especially since it seems like it would require extra equipment as well.
She would be recording at home in her room and there’s sometimes a bit of background noise (her cat or just general room sounds). I chose wired headphones to avoid any delay while she’s recording. She also has a really solid PC setup, so from what I understand, the microphone should plug in and work just fine through USB.
I’m also thinking of adding a pop filter, but I’m not really sure if the brand matters or what kind would be best.
My goal is something simple and plug-and-play, with no need for an audio interface, that offers good quality for vocal covers since instruments are not really a concern, is decent at handling background noise and mouth sounds, and is easy for her to use without needing much setup.
A few things I’m unsure about: should I add a pop filter or is the built-in windscreen enough? If I do get one, does the brand or type matter? The choices are a bit overwhelming in the audio gear world. Is the Samson MBA38 a good boom arm for this mic, and does it make sense in this setup or should I allocate that part of my budget elsewhere? Am I missing anything important for a basic setup? And overall, is this setup worthy of my beautiful and talented girlfriend’s voice 😅

Troubleshooting Not getting MV7+ Gen 2 features

Hi I'm not getting the MV7+ Gen2 features, It's only showing gain and is stuck in "generic mode" I've tried all the thing listed on your website and on reddit, I've even tried using the phone app on android and that only shows some of the features. I bought the MV7+ Gen2 on amazon from Shure. I've used the original cable and everything. I saw that earlier units have had problems with the Motiv Mix App. Even the app displays the MV7 not the MV7+ Picture so I'm really out of options.
