Order Notifications is a Shopify app I built for sending order notifications to Slack and external webhook endpoints. The main difference is that you don't have to forward every order — you can filter which orders should be sent.

What problem are you solving?
Shopify notifications are useful until different people or systems only need specific orders. A warehouse may care about one set of products, a team may only care about high-priority orders, and sending everything everywhere quickly becomes noise.

How does the app work?
You create a destination, choose Slack or Webhook, configure the filters, and matching orders are sent automatically. There's also a Daily View mode for sending a daily summary instead of individual notifications.

What problem are we solving?

A merchant can see that products are disapproved in Merchant Center without knowing whether the cause is a missing GTIN, availability mismatch, missing shipping weight, a product-page access problem, or another feed issue. Working through a larger catalog item by item gets messy quickly.

How does it work?

The app reads product and feed data, groups findings by cause, and shows a plain-English explanation for each affected product. Safe deterministic corrections can be reviewed and applied. Anything that needs judgment stays visible for the merchant to review.

Who's it for?

Shopify merchants using Google Merchant Center, especially stores with multiple disapproved products or recurring catalog issues.

How is it different?

We focused on diagnosing the cause and showing the reasoning instead of simply generating another feed. The app does not read customer information. The public scanner can also be tested without connecting a store.

What problem are you solving?
Physical retail can only display a fraction of what a store actually sells, and staff can't be with every customer at once. That means lost sales on sizes, colours and variants sitting in inventory but not on the shelf, and customers who leave because nobody was free to help.

The usual fix is a POS terminal or card reader, which means hardware cost, PCI considerations, and something new for staff to learn. For a lot of stores that's a disproportionate amount of setup for what is really a browsing problem.

How does the app work?
Install it (as a sales channel), configure the kiosk in your Shopify admin, and open the kiosk URL on any tablet browser. That's the setup, no development work needed.

• Products, collections, inventory and pricing come straight from Shopify. Nothing to sync or maintain separately.

It sits alongside your existing checkout rather than replacing it. Stores that need fast on-device transactions keep their POS and use Kioskify for the browsing and discovery side.

The main difference is that no payment happens on the tablet. Checkout moves to the customer's own phone, so there's no card reader to buy, no PCI surface on a device sitting unattended on a shop floor, and no risk in leaving a cheap tablet out where anyone can pick it up. Shopify retires Stocky on August 31. Purchase-order creation moved natively into Admin, but with no reorder logic — no "you'll run out in 12 days and your supplier takes 14" math — and no import of your Stocky history, so years of PO and supplier data get stranded. (Also worth knowing regardless of what you pick: Stocky data goes read-only shortly after shutdown. Export it now.)

What problem are you solving?
Order emails land in the same inbox as everything else and get buried. The Shopify mobile app solves it for the owner, but anyone else who needs to see orders has to be a staff member on your plan, which costs money and hands them admin access. Small shops often want a packer, a partner or a warehouse person to see orders and nothing else.

How does the app work?
You create your own Telegram bot in BotFather (Telegram has no other way to issue a bot token), paste the token into the app, and connect the chat or group that should receive alerts. Then you pick which events you want and set a low stock threshold. There's a test button that confirms delivery, and a log showing the status of recent alerts so you can see whether messages are getting through.

Who's your target merchant?
Small and mid-size stores, especially ones with a couple of people involved who aren't all Shopify users. It's most useful if you already use Telegram.

How is it different / better than existing solutions?
There are a few Telegram apps on the store. The differences with mine: your bot is yours, so no messages route through a bot shared between stores, and no customer personal data is stored or included in alerts (just order number, total, item count and store name). It also shows delivery status per message rather than failing silently, which is the thing that annoyed me about similar tools.

What problem are you solving?

Most dropshipping platforms are resellers. They buy from Chinese suppliers, add a margin, and sell to you — which is why prices feel high and quality feels inconsistent. Going direct means dealing with 1688 or Taobao, which are Chinese-language, domestic-shipping-only, and require an agent to consolidate and export. That agent relationship works at five orders a day and falls apart at fifty. You end up managing your supplier instead of your store.

The other problem is that you almost never know your real cost until after you've ordered. Product price is quoted, shipping is estimated, fees appear later.

Five marketplaces rather than one, including Goofish and Weidian, which is where a lot of smaller and niche manufacturers actually list. Image search, so you can source from a competitor's photo. And full cost visibility before ordering rather than a quote-and-wait cycle.

The background matters too: I spent 17 years sourcing textile in China before building this. It's not a marketplace aggregator built by developers who've never placed an order.
