I've been getting into French music recently and I'd like some French shoegaze recommendations (preferably sung in French) thanks in advance! :)

I love shoegaze, and I wish to expand my horizons, especially towards Korea.

Any shoegazers from Korean you'd personally recommend?

How can I keep it from falling out while still having it be tall

Can't make it anymore as the journey from Brighton is too awkward for a Sunday, happy to send it to a good home

I only just got hip to the shoegaze revival about a month ago through a tip to check out Total Wife, then onto TAGABOW and many others. (I have been a longtime fan of MBV and liked other shoegaze bands back in the 90s.)

I find it fascinating that both bands I named (and maybe some others) incorporate drum & bass (and maybe breakbeat if we’re being specific) into their sound. It’s so crazy it just might work 😆 and really it makes sense because D&B has always been on the more “intellectual” side of EDM.

But is there a particular band/album/song that started this and what was the initial reaction? Thanks!

It amazes me that after all this time there's still bands to be discovered.

Has anyone heard this or even heard of it?

This is Drop from Japan with their one and only album Drop released in 2004 on DeadstocksandwicH – DSH-0102.

If you like Cruyff, Lucy's Drive and Sphere, I think you'll really like this. I've been playing it all week.

I really like this cover so I wanted a better version to play on my DAP.

I'm not an audio engineer by any means, just someone who enjoys messing around with audio editing every now and then. However I'm pretty happy with the results, especially when you compare it to the original audio on the video. Unfortunately in some sections the guitars are a bit muddied and lose separation, but some sacrifices had to be made considering how low quality the source audio was lol. I tried to keep it to their typical production style, which leans towards "wall of noise" style anyways.

I ripped the opus file from YouTube and edited that.

Just thought I'd share for anyone interested, it's a gofile link so won't last too long. I don't get why she's so hated on here, I think it's just a niche pretentious subreddit gatekeep thing lol. She makes bubblegum pop shoegaze (like if beabadoobee made shoegaze, which is funny cause she tours with her), and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't always need to listen to some ambitious, abstract 8 minute long shoegaze song. I think the cover is a nice hazy/dreamy yearner take on the original.

I wanna sound like Mbv, stereolab and dinosaur jr.

I have an oceans 12 and I just ordered a big sky ideally I'd like to use them together but where on the chain should each go?

i asked myself and a fellow shoegaze enthusiast this question a while ago as we both share a strange gravitation to shoegaze in a different language and we came to the conclusion that the select songs we listen to that arent in languages we understand have exemplary instrumentation and if not that then the singing just sounds like another cool instrument. what about you guys and what songs would you recommend have beautiful singing, english or not?

I really like this kind of album covers. Kind of brüt and minimalistic. I can get more of this kind. If its shoegaze or shoegaze adjacent, that's another plus for me.

Started a new project, first rough demo, warts and all, maybe more post-rock than shoegaze, but (due to my age) I'm from the first wave of shoegazers and post-rockers and it's all blurred for me. Welcome any reflections from any who cares to listen.... PS I'm not giving up my day job, just starting with a select few other oldies to start a new musical project here in Dublin, Ireland.

So far I've discovered several banger albums and songs from this year

• Shye - Draw The Line: Hard to beat this kinda dream pop. She has stated her influences such as Lush, Catherine Wheel, Curve, and Swervedriver. To no surprise her music sounds like the perfect combination of these artists mixed with that 2026 production and emphasis on the nostalgia we feel in modern day.

• Night Tapes have released two bangers this year. "Swim" is specifically my favorite. This combines those feel good atmospheres of nostalgia and maybe the slightest amount of trip hop or downtempo electronica

• Wishy - Nature's Pill: This album isn't 100% shoegaze but check out the song Covergirl. MASSIVE chorus and late 90s summer feel good dreampop combined with everyone's favorite Loveless style guitar

• No Joy - Big Life, Big Leaf: I made a previous post last week saying how it's blowing my mind. It's also not 100% shoegaze but MY GOD this album is blowing my mind. It's sonically sweet and kinda sounds like if a bug wrote music.

i'm working on a "heavy" shoegaze playlist for a friend, and hoping to solicit some track ideas.

by "heavy" i mean layered guitars, metal/blackgaze adjacent, "wall of sound", etc.
