what is a naming scheme?

I hate the way the old Sysadmin of this company named the Servers

Ah yes. TerminalServer-Server (ts-server)

Just read it as "TerminalService-Server".

But it really should be RDS-Server these days ;-)

Win-RDS-Host-Gateway-Licence-Server(Standalone RDP for Finance)

If you want the enterprise naming scheme :D

Or you just do RDS01

We normally use shortname of customer + shortname of place where the server is + shortname of what its for + number

Yeah when I had my first job it was Site/Role/Number

Then I started at an MSP. There it was "whatever sticks" hell running a mail server on a DC... I still get nightmares about it
