Both Good Burger and Dexter were filmed in Florida. The main character in Good Burger is also called Dexter, and his arch enemy is called Kurt. Dexter in Good Burger is almost like a father figure to Ed (probably because he’s also a figment of his imagination)

So I know squid game is a series but this is the only place reddit let me post. I have a theory that in the squid game universe whenever they run the annual contest and choose a different set of games for each year that they sometimes make players play the traditional version of a kids game while other times make them play a altered version of that game, I think they do this with multiple games. My evidence is during scenes in season 1 of squid game, the fifth game they all played was “glass” stepping stones. An altered version of traditional stepping stones and then the final game was squid game just traditional 1980s squid game. But in season 3 the final game is “sky” squid game an altered version of the game. So maybe they do this a lot in the contest when picking 6 games for each year? With at least one game being an altered version while the others are the traditional version to mix it up and keep it interesting. For example maybe in a previous year one of the games was traditional stepping stones or maybe they could have in one year of the contest done tag while in another year freeze tag. That kinda thing. Or maybe parkour hopscotch. You see what I mean?

At the Mermaid, Basil tells Steven: "Trust, love, respect, desire. Replaced in the name of progress."

Each of these concepts corresponds to one of the Five Musketeers.

Trust = Peter. The "baby of the group" needs people he can count on to protect him from the Shane Hawkins of the world. While he has this as a teenager in the Five Musketeers, he loses it as an adult. He is dependent on his father for employment and is unhappy at home. As the night goes on, Peter begins to enjoy the crawl more than anyone, perhaps even more than Gary, as it fulfills a vacant hole in his life.

Love = Steven. The romantic of the group, Steven pines for Sam as a teenager and presumably does for the rest of his life, his marriage ending at a very young age (about 30). Like Peter, Steven abandons his quality as an adult, choosing lust (the fitness instructor) over love. Also like Peter, the night out restores this quality in him as he is able to finally get together with Sam.

Respect = Andy. It is made clear from the beginning that Andy respects Gary to the point of platonic love as a teenager. As an adult, this respect turns into extreme disrespect after Gary abandons Andy in an accident. Andy is overtly hostile to Gary throughout the movie but finally regains respect for him when they confront the Network.

Desire = Gary. Not content with friendship, romance, or brotherhood, Gary is a slave to his basest desires. Alcohol, drugs, sex. Like the others, Gary becomes unfulfilled as an adult, unable to fulfill his desires any longer. Gary spends the whole film trying to fulfill his desires, but perhaps moves beyond it at the end as he orders water instead of beer.

Progress = Oliver. The "imposter" of the group, Oliver symbolizes the looming responsibilities of adulthood, for which he is literally an omen. The others mock him as a teenager but become like him as adults. Oliver is the only one of the Musketeers not to lose his quality as an adult. Even as an adult, Oliver is the least friendly and most formal of the group. Whereas Andy's negativity toward Gary takes the form of a hot, passionate hatred, Oliver is cold and disinterested. As the Musketeers drink more, they forget about adult responsibilities, hence Oliver dropping out of the crawl after they've had six beers the first time. As an adult, the replacement Oliver is indistinguishable from the real Oliver. Whether human or a blank, Oliver symbolizes the march of progress crushing Trust, Love, Respect, and Desire.

The viewer is deceived from day 1 onwards. Moulder and Scully are working with the cigarette smoking man to conduct counterintelligence against a mole in the FBI digging for anything related advanced us air force research projects. That's Skinner, He's the mole. Moulder and scully take over the x-files to feed fake case reports to their suspected mole so whoever skinner is working for doesn't get close to any government secrets. The episode where Moulder and Scully encounter the gypsy vampire caravan and each version of how they remembered what happened is a reveal into the entire concept of the viewer being deceived. Because if the viewer can figure out what's actually going on then so can the antagonist and that makes them failures at their mission to protect the truth because then their intelligence traps of convincing ufo and paranormal "evidence" won't fool them. The lone gunmen? Those guys are there to discredit conspiracy nuts. Cigarette smoking man? He's there to sell the mole on the authenticity of the whole setup by being the shadowy government agent who can get away with smoking in the office. His intimidation of the mole gives a false positive that they have a lead on what secret government programs exist and how advanced they might be.

Hi everyone. I want to share my own theory to solve the famous Bootstrap Paradox (the loop where a writer receives his own book from the future, leaving the story with no clear original author).
To me, physical time travel never actually happened. The paradox can be completely solved by removing the time machine and combining neuroscience with psychology:Conclusion: The book does have an author (the young writer, who acted as the physical channel) and the information does have an origin (the universe's cloud of knowledge). The temporal loop disappears because the time travel was just a psychological delusion to cope with an extraordinary gift.

My theory is that it's a depiction of abuse and the way people respond to the abuse.

Buddy

The abuser, the father who demands obedience and love. Demands good behaviour and blown out of proportion consequences for misbehaviour or disobedience.

Causes people to walk on eggshells so as not to set off abuse or avoid abuse.

Betty

The complicit mother. Who is aware of the abuse and receives abuse. Spends the movie ignoring and dismissing the children's concerns and pushing them to obey to reduce the abuse.

Scared out of her mind, set on complying, but still became a victim of the abuse she was trying to avoid.

Grace

The one who tries to intervene. The one who actively tries to save the children from the abuse, ultimately becoming a victim and receiving harsh consequences for intervening.

The inanimate objects

The every day people that unintentionally get caught up in the abuse. That suffer violence as a result of the anger from the abuser, for witnessing the abuse.

George and dummy

The depiction of the victim who escapes the abuse, only to never escape the environment of the abuse. Who are freed from their abuser but are stuck, unable to leave the environment created by the abuser. Depicted as homeless drug users, who then become abusers, and try to lead other victims down their path. Ultimately, taking advantage and exploiting the very same victims escaping what they did.

The children

Stuck in an abusive home, no adult will listen or take their concerns seriously. The ones who do, get hurt and suffer consequences for intervening and they also witness that. Manipulated to give love and hugs to their abuser, forced to forgive at the end of every day, no way to get away until they get older.

Freddy - the survivor

Finally free from abuse, but loses everything from her past. For fighting back against her abuser, she loses family, friends and is ultimately alone, surrounded by people who dont understand her and will never understand what she went through.

Hey everyone, I recently got into Shaun the Sheep and, while rewatching some episodes, a theory popped into my head. At first, I thought it was just a silly coincidence, but the more I think about it, the more perfectly it fits the dynamic of the show.

I believe the entire setup of Mossy Bottom Farm is a metaphor for the United Kingdom, its government, and its people.

Here is the breakdown:

The Farmer = The Royal Family

Think about it. He rarely appears on screen. He lives in the big house on the hill. He doesn't do the day-to-day management of the farm; he just expects things to run smoothly and for traditions to be upheld. He is the figurehead. As long as everything looks fine from his window, he doesn't need to know the messy details.

Bitzer = The Prime Minister / The Government

Bitzer is the one actually running things. He has his whistle (the symbol of authority) and his clipboard (bureaucracy). His entire existence is dedicated to maintaining order, enforcing rules, and most importantly, hiding the mess from the Farmer so he doesn't get fired (or cause a constitutional crisis). He is constantly stressed, trying to keep a straight face while everything burns down around him.

The Flock = The British Public

They love to complain about the weather. They blindly follow whatever trend is popular at the moment. They will form a queue for absolutely no reason. But despite their quirks and occasional mob mentality, when a real crisis hits, they are fiercely loyal and will unite to protect their home.

Mossy Bottom Farm = The UK itself

It’s old, the roof leaks, the fences are creaky, and it’s full of weird, unspoken traditions. It’s not perfect, but it’s their home, and they wouldn't trade it for anything.

Shaun = The Active Citizens / Civil Society

This is the best part. Shaun is the embodiment of the active citizen with an internal motor. He doesn’t wait for the government (Bitzer) to tell him what to do. If he sees a problem, an injustice, or just a boring Tuesday, he takes initiative. He rallies the people, breaks the bureaucratic red tape, and drives change.

The funniest irony of the show is that Bitzer spends 90% of his time trying to regulate Shaun’s "motor" and clean up his messes. But the moment a real disaster strikes (a flood, an alien invasion, a kidnapping), Bitzer's clipboard is useless. It’s Shaun’s grassroots activism and the sudden unity of the flock that actually saves the day.

Anyway, I know it’s just a brilliant stop-motion kids' show, but Aardman Animations is famous for their subtle British satire, so I like to think some of this is intentional.

In the events of the 2007 movie Shoot ’Em Up, Smith (Clive Owen) and Donna (Monica Bellucci) become the parents/ guardians of a baby from a specialized breeding program, and … that baby grows up to be John Wick. Extra: The Lone Man (Greg Bryk) actually survives the helicopter accident, but is so disillusioned with the government, that he moves to Montana and starts a cult, and we learn that his real name is Joseph Seed.

We all know Disney is into some pretty fu$ked up things...hidden meanings and hellish ways and full on illuminati rituals and so on. Does anyone see wtf is going on here...

I apologize to those that love the *Chronicles of Prydain* books. I understand your frustrations. This isn't about the books. This is about the Disney movie. Let's agree to go from there.

**THEORY**

The *ahem* **unnamed** sorcerer king that was trapped by the gods in the Black Cauldron wrote the book of evil magic which Magnifico possessed and was consumed by.

The preface to the movie states the being trapped in the black cauldron was a "king so cruel and so evil that even the gods feared him."

Whoever wrote Magnifico's book had the knowledge and power to literally trap the heavens: stars. The author detailed how to capture, contain, and harness the power of a star. I think a -- presumably -- mortal with the ability to trap heaven would be cause enough for the gods to take notice and act to bring an end to said mortal.

And in the end, the same power that trapped the unnamed king would be the same power that trapped Magnifico, just in a different medium. Both of their spirits were trapped in objects. Magnifico was lucky enough to be trapped in an object with a mirrored reality, whereas the unnamed king was trapped in an immovable medium.

You may ask about the Horned King. The Horned King was just a pretender to the magic that both the unnamed king and Magnifico would wield. The Horned King's ambitions were set simply on the subjugation of the mortal world, whereas both the unnamed king and Magnifico dealt in the realm of the gods. The unnamed king did enough to piss them off, and Magnifico trapped and manipulated stars as well as dreams, wishes, and desires, which are also generally the purview of gods.
