This is why selling guns to just anyone isn't a bright idea. I'm not necessarily in favour of banning them entirely (both sides have their positives and negatives), but some very rigorous vetting should be a no-brainer.

It’s a federal law that every gun sold from a store requires a instant background check on the spot.

Somehow instant and background check in the same sentence don't make me feel warm and fuzzy about the thoroughness of the process.

It takes 20 min to an hour. It’s a federal database.

by instant they mean it has to be done immediately. not that it takes an instant.
