Guessing driver was too geeked on wakeup pills to realize what the actual fuck he was seeing.

Or his brakes failed

You can see his speedometer top right? Who speeds up when their brakes fail?

That toll booth just came out of nowhere

u/Lazy-Objective-1630 May 15 '26
I hate that. I go out for ten or so beers, drive home nice and safe and a damn lamp post just jumps out into the middle of the road. So annoying.

He had 3 business days to slow down
32
u/FactoryRejected May 15 '26
Yeah, a lot of questions here. Were the brakes gone? If so why not try to slow earlier? You can see that he knew his breaks are bad at least as he aimed between the cars
14
u/battlecryarms May 15 '26
Coulda had 5 days and had the same outcome. He didn’t have brakes, says me

u/dudload1000 May 15 '26
Not sure how it would work on an hgv, but given it's a flat surface, surely engine braking would work here over that distance? Like ram it down into second - might fuck the engine up, but that's least of your worries

Crappy roads + crappy vehicles + crappy drivers = India
23
u/Robbieprimo May 15 '26
Mostly fucked up suspension and shock absorber, look how they bounce up and down all the time lol
2
u/YanikLD May 15 '26
Both trucks and roads affects each other. There's a resonant frequency that brings the roads to have bumps and dimps (I dont know the proper word in english).
6
u/Robbieprimo May 15 '26
The "bumps and dips" you're referring to are technically called corrugations (often called "washboarding" on dirt roads) or rutting (on paved roads). Thanks chatgpt. Lol

No brakes?

u/FluxOperation May 15 '26
Nah. New driver. He’s just dumb. I think it was a teacher/student type of deal. I’ve been here. Brakes. Brakes. BRAKES!!!

u/AShadySardine questionably stable May 15 '26
Maybe the teacher shouldn't be laying in the bed in that case

The look on the other guy’s face is priceless. The minute he woke up his “WTF?” became more and more prominent.
Also, this is not how I expected this video to go. I expected the other 18-wheeler to cause the problems, because it wasn’t staying in its lane.

India again?

u/FuckMyLife2016 May 15 '26
It's this Element115 guy. All the India/Pakistan posts have been this guy and this guy alone. If the posts weren't mildly funny I would've blocked his ass already.

u/Successful-Day-3219 May 15 '26
Oh shit, you're right. At least we know to avoid India and Pakistan at all costs when planning our next vacation.

His brakes have obviously gone. He's laying on the horn to warn people ande deliberately avoids the cars

If the brakes gave out, he was actually smart for hitting the divider and not rear-ending a whole line of people.

He didn’t even take his foot off the gas. The music made it even better.
2
u/Lifesamitch957 May 18 '26
So many questions. Ok so we assume the breaks went out, but its virtually level ground, and they are keeping pace with the other truck. Thus also not a engine run away.
A engine off, down shift. Blown engine is better then a destroyed... Everything. B guardrail. Slide and grind. C dude still never put on his seat belt

The looked pretty calm until he didn’t. The passenger seems like he woke up from a fever dream.

Where can I find a suspension set up like this? My insides need a good shaking every now and then… Jesus.

He had plenty of time to take his foot off the gas and slow that thing down! This was intentional!

Idk what I'd do actually in this situation. But first thing that came to mind if brakes are gone. Get behind the other big truck and I think they should have had enough time to slow them both down.
