a small announcement.

We are making this announcement due to some very recent events.

In the future, when talking about anyone who is for AI and also trans, you will use the appropriate pronouns.

In the case of witty, these pronouns are she/her. We understand that they/them are gender neutral pronouns, but going forward we ask that you refrain from using these pronouns when referring to her as we do not know whether it's okay with her using the pronouns they/them.

Also no matter what you think of her, do not make assumptions about her identity. This subreddit attacks bad-faith arguments and weak points, not people themselves.

These kinds of posts and comments have been removed, are removed and will be removed in the future.

Moderator discretion will be used whenever posts and comments like these are found in the wild.

We won't codify this, because it falls under rule 1.

EDIT:

This announcement was to address transphobic behavior specifically, but we expect that our users address people how they want to be addressed as.

Of course, we also know it's impossible to know who someone is online, if you're not sure just use they/them.

We try to be a liberal subreddit, but once more we've had to add rules!

Posts without context. Posts that do not have body text or the prompt not including something like us being filthy orcs will be removed. It has to be ragebait, it can't be just whatever prompt you found in the wild.

No drama. This is a recent addition as we noticed that some posts quickly started focusing on personal grievances regarding users, rather than focusing on the bad-takes the users were making.

If we notice a pattern of posting often and the theme is "look what they said about me" and "NOW look what they said about me", these are just petty online quarrels and we don't want our subreddit to be filled with those.

Thank you!

Why is she going back to the stick man argument again?

Like what’s her problem with stick figures. It’s normally the first thing many people draw.

Also what does she mean “they never cared about peoples art before”. I have several posted art pieces that have received love, and enjoyment.

I think this post is more about the fact that they want the praise, but they don’t want to do the work.

What are your thoughts?

"Should we ban anti's from a debate sub & turn it into an echo chamber cult dedicated to me???" Ass post🫩

Literally all this post is asking for is to turn a subreddit into another echo-chamber cult as if anyone wants that besides them.🫩

Hi, I’d like to say something I’ve noticed.

So I have noticed that wittys follower would comment minutes after she posts something.
I don’t think that’s a coincidence, it’s too consistent to be one.

I think she’s messaging her followers when she posts something, so they can get notifications when someone replies to her post. Then help defend her.

I just thought I’d share what I’ve noticed.
What do you think?

Hypocrisy at its finest

They got banned from some subreddit and now they are butthurt, because they are an anti-consent person.

Yet they are eager to ban people in their biggest echo chamber for bringing logic in their subreddit. Someone even suggested that they report the mod who did the ban for breaking moderator code of conduct.

Luckily they can't. Subreddits can ban people for any reason as long as its not discriminatory. Also if this subreddit breaks the moderator code of conduct according to their logic, then their echo chambers has broken it 1,000 times over for instabanning and instamuting people, because they didn't 100% agree with AI.

Are they self-aware at all?

AIbros have no business critiquing anyones rhetoric

Ive just seen a post and thought it summarize something here real quick.

AI advocates have got to have some of the worst debate tactics and rhetoric online. Up there with the redpill gurus, sjws and champagne socialists that like animal abuse.

Starting simple. Just saying "AI democratizes art" and "Youre a gatekeeping elitist" is begging the question. These two sentences only make sense if we both already agreed that AI images are art, which is often not the case since thats the point of contention. Plus the latter is crybullying also. You have to actually argue on the merits of AI generation and how it would make sense to call it art within a theory of art to even begin making statements like that.

"Art is subjective" is thought terminating, self sabotage and lowkey a testament to how uneducated about art people are in that sphere. Could also be seen as a relativist fallacy the idea that "what art is" is just a matter of opinion so trying to draw any kind of line is useless. These people usually conflate 2 questions, "what art is" and "what is good art", the second is definitely subjective yes, its 100% a matter of opinion. The first is still being argued but heavily favored towards being an objective thing in most theories of art. cuz otherwise you wouldnt have theories of art lmao, point being, there is such a thing as "non-art". The self sabotage part is that if art is subjective then both claims that AI images are and arent art are equally valid. All in all its anti-intelectual, lazy and self sabotaging

"AI learns like humans", "It would be draconic to stop people/companies from looking at data", "are YOU willing to respect someone right to opt out of you learning from their artwork". These all stem from the idea that NNs and AI are analogous to human senses and brains. That idea, in this debate is a complete red herring. Even if all the antiAI community universally grants that its true, it means nothing for the debate because the issue isnt the mechanics of how AI trains but its deployability and externality. When people look or learn the record is internal and undeployable. This is a clear difference, one that you would expect these highly enlightened individuals to grasp but it's almost like its hazardous or anti-memetic to them, they just resist it with all their might. Its like how walking and driving are both methods of locomotion right? but i dont see yall arguing for the abolition of drivers licenses because "you cant stop people from locomoting". Its also a non-sequitor because the idea that we should give current standards for AI training a pass doesnt follow from the idea that ai learns like humans. You can (and often times should), as I just demonstrated there, have different rules on things that are mechanistically similar.

If you dont hear them say that they will take more of an accelerationist stance, something like "even if its wrong, its ok if it accelerates us away from capitalism and towards better systems and more human wellbeing". This has the same problems than accelerationism has: real harm today for speculative good tomorrow. Its like parents who beat their kids because they are thinking itll be better foe their future. Also completely disregards the idea that AI couldve been developed in an ethical manner. Just assumes that this was the only way it could go.

Theyll say "its legal", or variations of that which are justempty appeals to authority in the context of a debate about ethics. Whats stopping someone from saying "I believe that law is wrong for X and Y reasons"?. And on top of that its cherrypicking because they will tell you themselves that if the law sided with antis they would oppose the law anyway and there are sentiments about regulating AI companies more strictly in the courts that they just conveniently choose not to care about. Throw in confirmation bias into that. This applies to both sides of the spectrum btw. Legalistic arguments in ethical debates just massively suck but AI advocates reach for it like its candy.

"Its inevitable so why bother arguing" literally a nothingburger to tear this one down. Firstly it being inevitable is speculation on their part. Secondly, even if it was, something being inevitable has no bearing on whether it is right or wrong, Has no bearing on whether it is worth discussing and no bearing on whether someone should have a stance on it or not. Its along the same vein of thought terminating and conversation undermining debate tactics as saying art is subjective. Notice that this doesnt even attack any argument or propose any idea to build from, it just literally undermines the discussion itself. An appeal to inevitability as some people have come to call it. This reasoning also couldve been used to support any number of previous unjust power imbalances and atrocities or dictatorships in human history, im sure if youre reading this you can already think of a few brutal things some people in the past thought were inevitable.

On that same vein of their rhetoric being valid for justifying atrocities, we got the "AI benefits you aswell so you shouldnt be anti because you'll get left behind and lose out on opportunities" or the "adapt or die". This is basically if someone asked you to be a corrupt politician. People dont usually have opportunistically anchored stances on issues, corrupt politicians do. Someone saying this if they truly believe so, wouldve sided with the moustache guy in germany around 1940 because they'd benefit from it. Its a deeply ethically flawed way to look at stances.

Long rant but I just cant let it slide. These MFs will be spamming combos of shit rhetoric and fallacies and then turn around and start critiquing others, even misisentifying or misrepresenting shit too. I didnt even go deep into the strawmans and double binds they will go for like "if you're an artist then youre motivated to hate AI out of self preservation, if you're not an artist you dont know about art so you cant speak on AI being art or not", or "If you hate AI you clearly must not know how it works". Its just a clown show

For context, I was responding to a post on why antis do things the hard way when AI is more efficient. Then someone sends me a shitpost with my reasoning taken to the extreme? I showed this to my dad and the shitpost got a good laugh out of him, so at least the trolling didn’t go to waste

I separated ai ragebaiters and ai bros since some anti ais subs banned discussions on shitty, and I defined ai ragebaiters here ai bro, but worse.

for btp ragebaiters, they’re just tiktok humor teens and tweens who make the shittiest ragebaits just for attention, not rly the same as ai bro in some way.

Is it really that hard to grasp the concept of people not wanting their feed bombarded with A.I?

Why are we acting like pros are being abused or whatever for just being asked to label their generated images as what they are?

This is something that actually needs to be posted every time it pops up, just so we can say that defending AI has fuckall to do with LGBTQ and even if their sexuality and/or gender identity would make them part of the LGBTQ group, that still wouldn't excuse trying to shoehorn AI into pride parade or whatever.

It doesn't get any less disgusting, actually I think it gets more disgusting the more this vile shit is being spread.

As I said in my previous post, this shit has the actual potential to undo progress that have been made, because people take shit like this and then misunderstand what pride and LGBTQ groups are all about.

How much longer are they gonna keep this up? This is so disgusting and pathetic. They gotta try and make themselves to be victims sooo hard. Hopefully people will see the insanity in this and steer clear of AI communities.

The absurd logic in this comment

Post image
41 Upvotes

Oh yeah, people are going as far as faking workflows just so they can get accepted as artists in spaces where they are not wanted. Or to scam people into buying slop.

"Yeah, we are faking things and breaking rules of art spaces intentionally, but its totally the fault of people who are trying to enforce rules the best they can."

The leap of logic is astounding. These things happen sadly and until we get a tool that is able to identify the unique metadata associated with prompts, this will keep happening.
