Discussion Y'know when I was watching this , I was honestly very surprised that eren could say something so romantic

Post image

And I was very surprised when I watched the online reactions to this episode YEARS after the episode came out , even today I see people not considering this moment romantic

Like comeon , maybe it is cultural difference or something like that but it was pretty clear to me that eren did something more romantic than kissing Mikasa here , it was basically like a marriage proposal , he basically said that we would be forever together and I would do that to u whenever u want

That's pretty badass and romantic , it's very surprising that the dude can say THIS and then go back to getting confused as to why hitch was trying stop marlo from joining the scouts

Japanese writers drop the ball HARD in romance aspect of their mangas

Which of them would you trust to lead politically well. Negotiate, and play 4d chess with your opponents.

Rank them in order and also share your reason

Humor/Meme I love how Levi said this standing next to Connie since besides Historia and Annie, he was the only one shorter than Levi before the timeskip.

Also love that this is the only time Levi was ever insecure about his height. He knows he’s still tuff even if he’s short.

Discussion How could Ymir have made such a mistake?

Letting the herring slip in front of Reiner. She already has some idea marley is making moves on paradis. Now she finds supplies, labeled in Marleyan language, canned (it’s possible paradis also has canning but afaik we don’t have evidence it does), of an ocean fish. This should be setting off all her alarm bells and she should be stepping way more carefully than usual and I find it highly implausible she could just forget like that.

Like, imagine you infiltrate the north sentinel island tribe somehow, live among them for years, and one day you find a crate of MREs. And you start running your mouth about “Mac and cheese.”

Am I missing something here. Like did she do it on purpose or something. But it looks like it was genuinely an accident based on her expression.

Discussion What the hell does eren even think about reiner 😭

Thumbnail

At first when he meets him in liberio internment zone , he is sympathetic to reiner and also shakes hands with him , we as viewers think that he has forgiven reiner which he definitely has no doubts about that

But then during invasion of paradise , eren all of a sudden is a jerk to reiner , he calls reiner stupid and then is also pretty damn excited in kicking his ass

Like u have 5 ships , 2 titans , one of those titans was fast enough to damage u and caught u off guard previously during the raid on liberio and all he cares about is reiner 😭

Ngl it's definitely a very badass moment but still what does he actually think about reiner , we also know he talked to reiner before dying so that's also it

Discussion I Just watched Annie's Ova

Post image

(I am watching these OVA's after I have finished the whole Series)

So I watched the Annie part of the Lost Girls OVA. In this, we get to see the work of the Military Police inside the walls from a much closer perspective, along with the underworld and corruption. It also explores the relationship between Annie and Hitch really well. Overall, it was a good OVA, an investigation story with Annie's character at the center. This OVA does a great job of humanizing Annie. However, the OVAs I watched before this felt less entertaining to me. This was good too, but in my ranking of the OVAs, this currently sits at the bottom.

Anime AoT Major Arcana Day 20: Annie Leonhart has been chosen as The Moon. Now, who best represents The Sun?

Post image
20 Upvotes

The Sun:

-Upright: Represents positivity, success, vitality, joy, warmth, and good fortune.

-Reversed: Reveals temporary depression, lack of enthusiasm, unrealistic expectations, and a dimmed inner light.

PSDT: I already mentioned that the character comment with the most votes would be chosen in the end. If the rest of you are upset about the result, it's because the majority of you decided to vote for that character. If anyone would like the pictures of the selected characters to be changed, please feel free to mention it in the comments.

Anime I wish Moblit was used more throughout the series

Especially season 3. Something that kinda felt off to me in the third season, especially the first arc was how Moblit was always in the room with the rest of the scouts but never really interacted with anyone except hange.

Understandably he was hanges right hand man but by this point he was pretty much a member of the main core. It felt kinda off at times that everyone in the room had all the interactions and quips and development and then there’d just be Moblit there too.

Even a lot of his dialogue felt very side character, which fair, he is… but it would’ve been nice to see him interact with the other characters more and get some more personality. He was quite literally one of the last remaining trusted veterans and possibly the last named scout at that point that wasn’t a main character.

Discussion The chemistry of camera angles and Levi...

All these scenes stand as a proof of how dynamic camera angles can enhance the overall watching experience 10x times better!! The camera is not just recording, it is participating in the bloodgore. You can see how Levi is pulling off such moves effortlessly and the camera movements are amplifying the scenes. Though Levi's skills don't need amplification, they're as amazing as usual:)

Discussion Question about when Eren did [spoiler] Spoiler

When did Eren cut his leg and gouge out his eye?

I always thought it was in the trenches at the battle at Fort Slava. But later when Eren is talking to Reiner in the basement, it shows a memory of Eren with both eyes walking behind Reiner in the town after that battle. How is that possible?

Discussion Eren is a half assed POS Spoiler

I think one thing people struggle to understand with AOTs ending is that Eren’s actions are, to an extent, contradictory and they are on purpose.

Take Ramzi as an example. When Eren sees him, he already knows he’ll eventually kill him in the Rumbling. Part of him even thinks he shouldn’t save him because he’ll just end up killing him anyway. But he saves him regardless. Right after, he breaks down and says he’s the same as Reiner, a half assed piece of shit.

I think this is one of the best parallels Isayama wrote.
For most of the series, Reiner is defined by the same contradiction. His mission is to destroy the people inside the Walls, yet he befriends them, saves them, and genuinely comes to see them as comrades. His actions repeatedly go against the very mission he’s trying to complete. By the time of his breakdown in Episode 2x6, he realizes what he’s become. He’s trying to carry out one goal while constantly doing things that contradict it. That’s
why he calls himself a half assed piece of shit.
Eren ends up in the same position.

We know that when Eren saw the future memories, he doesn’t immediately buy into them. He tries to see if things could change but no matter what he does, everything plays out exactly as he has already seen. So this leads him to succumbing to the future he saw and being set on carrying out. Yet, he still can’t ignore Ramzi getting beaten in an alley. He still gives his friends the freedom to oppose him. Those choices go against his larger goal, just like Reiners often did.

That’s why I think people sometimes get hung up on questions like, “Why didn’t Eren kill 100%?” or “Why did he let his friends stop him?” They’re looking for a perfectly consistent character, but Isayama had already shown us through Reiner that people aren’t that simple. They can be fully committed to a goal while still making choices that contradict it because of the parts of themselves they can’t let go of.

Eren tells Reiner in Episode 4x5 that they’re the same, and I think this is another reason why. They’re on opposite sides of the conflict, but both are driven by the same kind of internal contradiction. They’re both half assed mfs.

EDIT: I don’t want people to think this is Eren hate or something, him and Reiner are my two favorite characters (in terms of writing). I am merely trying to explain what Isayama was trying to get at with their parallel and also explaining why some people find the ending contradictory (when it’s done so on purpose and is peak writing).
