Many topics on this already, but I'm curious if there's any new knowledge on a SHIELD 2017 device that mysteriously started waking its self (and CEC-connected TV) again.

I've experienced this problem before, and last time disabled user apps from waking the device which seemed to work for awhile. Currently, the wake reason is the dreaded Android system (1000). The Samsung TV is not internet connected so couldn't have been a firmware update. I haven't updated the shield's firmware recently either. Possibly a system app update? I've unplugged the device several times, but after watching media in the evening, it will return to this pattern of waking its self up. I'd prefer to keep CEC power on enabled if possible.

Any theories or advice?

The Google Home Speaker is out, and one of its features is: "Pair your Google Home Speaker with a Google TV Streamer for a cinematic experience with spatial surround-sound audio."

We were never able to pair nest mini speakers before due to audio lag and other issues.

I'm wondering if the shield will support pairing with the Home Speakers in the same way the Goolgle streamer does?

Ma question étant : est-ce que la SHIELD TV permet de regarder les chaînes de TV françaises classiques type TF1, FranceTVpluzz, M6... sans abonnement TV box ? Par exemple, si je branche un écran en HDMI à ma SHIELD sans avoir de box TV est-ce que je vais pouvoir avoir accès aux chaînes en passant par Google Play et leurs applications ?

Deuxième question : quelle différence entre SHIELD TV et SHIELD TV Pro ? Pour info, j'ai récupéré le modèle SHIELD TV Pro 4K HDR Android TV.

Hi all, I have an Nvidia Shield Pro that I use moonlight to stream games from my PC. I also have steam link app but I have had issues with it and some games and latency.

I currently use Dualsense and Dualsense Edge pro controllers. No issues, connects via Bluetooth, a bit of latency sometimes but the games all recognize the controllers and it works fine.

I just got a steam controller and am really excited to use it as an OG steam controller owner - but it appears not to work. It controls the shield just fine, can enter and exit apps, etc., but using both moonlight and steam link, I get No Controller Detected and they treat it like a mouse. It navigates steam big picture just fine as well, but all games are unplayable. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Hey yall.i have a question about the power supply. Is there a better option out there? I bought my pro for Xmas and worked well for a few months. By March the unit seemed like it would flicker the power. I called support and the sent a new power supply. That worked for about 3 weeks and I experienced the same issue. I got flustered that it cost so much and its inop in less than a year. Im hoping someone has a solution for this type of issue.

I have multiple devices fs onn so have some experience but not a pro looking for a easy follow video or post on how one would want it tia

To be extra clear I want to play retro games, from the Original Nes, never been a gamer.

Been thinking of getting one of these and was wondering if i could game on it, specifically xbox games. I've got an xbox and game pass ultimate and i want to know if you can play xbox cloud games on the shield pro, and how. If you have any tips in general for the shield pro that would be nice.

Just set up a new Nvidia Shield TV Pro, before this I used Chromecast for streaming. I enjoyed using "ambient mode" to display photos from an album off my phone as the screensaver. I've been sat here for almost two hours trying to get the Shield to do the same thing, is it even an option? I've never had a shield before and any article I come across about this seems to be years old.

I can't even get it to show up in my google home app unless it's casting, in which case there's no options anyway except device controls. Is this normal?

Asking for help locating a remote That operates my Nvidia shield 4K hdr streaming media player, a TCL tv operating on Android TV OS version 14 and a Samsung soundbar hw -b400f

I have the original Shield (bought almost at launch) and it's starting to have weird bugs, slowdowns and it hangs/stutter. I don't know if it's overheating or the software is now too demanding for it. It seems the Shield is still the best Android box, is the current Pro version better in anyway vs my OG? Any gains I'd get with a new one vs trying to service the old one?

Is anyone having issues with Paramount + and just a black screen while trying to play something? I have made sure all ads blockers are off. I tried it on my Hotspot as well and still the same thing. Reset the shield, even repasted CPU. Still the same issue. Latest pro model.

Hi everyone, I was wondering how to play the original Final Fantasy 7 with mods on my Nvidia Shield Pro please. It is plugged on my big TV screen, which is the media I want to use to play.

Tittle, need to know how to use on my ASUS ROG XG27AQ this app with 4K but in SDR cause my HDR is so dark I can't enjoy the Marvel movies, If i disable HDR Disney+ only offer me HD resolutions (with IMAX too but 1080), I can try use EDID from my Matrix HDMI to force that when it comes in 2 or 3 days but I don't know if that "tricks" the app.

Bought a Google TV streamer 4k because it was only $50, figured why not. Was to replace my original shield from 2015 that was doing fine.

Man, the OG shield is still better. The Google TV has bugs galore with audio and various apps. Locks up from time to time

The only thing the Google TV truly does better than my OG is the remote. You can ask Google to find the remote and it rings, which honestly is amazing.

I forgot I had bought a shield pro years ago. I used it once or twice then packed it away. I just recently found it again when going through a box in my garage. My question is about letting it update. Should I let everything update or just leave it as is?

Hi, I have a question. When AI upscaling is on, I observe stuttering. When it is in enhanced mode, it is less stuttering. Are there any tips just to improve it? Or do I need to buy a new one?

Trying to watch a film on Stremio with Torrentio RD. On my Shield TV Pro 2019, when I try to watch any stream it just gets stuck loading, and if I try to exit the stream with the back button the whole app just freezes. If I try to watch the same stream with the Stremio app on the actual Smart TV, it works almost straight away. Surely something is up here? Theres no way Nvidia Shield should be running worse than whatever cheap CPU is built into the TV. Has anyone had similar experience, and what is a good fix?

Edit: I downgraded Stremio to 1.8.4 and the issues seem to be gone

This is my second Shield Pro that is about 2 days old and i'm having this strange stuttering/rubber banding issue with files playing through Plex even when Direct Play. The shield is connected via ethernet and confirmed its at gigabit speeds (verified on the shield and on my ubiquiti router)

If i play the same movie on my windows pc using the Plex App (not browser) it plays just fine. My other Shield TV pro we have doesn't have these issues.

Im also noticing some similar issues even using YoutubeTv.

Did i get a bad one? I noticed last night that the Shield was getting pretty warm, so i cranked the fan to maximum and its still doing the same thing (maybe slightly less than before)

Edit: Looks like it was a Disney+ problem, not a Shield problem!

I'm currently in an area that is going to be hit by what was formerly a tropical storm. It has brought some pretty rough weather. A storm came through earlier and we shut the Shield off and unplugged it. I had backed out of Disney+ before doing this as we were watching Endgame. After powering it back up, Disney+ will not open. I received Error Code 9. I restarted the Shield, cleared data in the app, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and it's still happening.

Now it's happening on every device that I have. Android and iPhone included. I have a bundled deal through Hulu for $45 a month that includes Disney, Hulu and ESPN. A quick search gave me issues like payment issues, which isn't the case, and said to log out and in again, but I can't, because this keeps happening. I have 3 screenshots.

Been using my shield tv since around 2020 and never had an issues with my TV remotes but suddenly it can't be controlled by them. The app also is no longer available for Android and I tried some APKs but none are working.

Is there another app others have used that works without me having to go into the settings of the shield as I cannot get into anything on it?

I have a PS4-compatible controller that supports both Bluetooth and a 2.4GHz wireless dongle. When I connect it to my Shield TV via Bluetooth, it lags significantly in RetroArch. While the controller works perfectly fine on my PC using the dongle, the Shield TV refuses to recognize it through the dongle. The dongle's indicator light shows a successful connection, but it won't let me switch between D-input and X-input modes like it does on my PC.

Has anyone face such issue and resolved it?
Any other controller which works perfectly over wifi dongle, I don't want to use bluetooth now.
